All three of us planned on careers of federal service. But 2025 had other plans for us. We are:
u/Chuck4MD, Chuck Borges, former Chief Data Officer of the Social Security Administration. Ask me about whistleblowing, flying for the Navy, my campaign for Maryland Senate…anything!
u/Lorelei_Lion, Jennifer Troyer, former Acting Director of Extramural Operations at NIH Human Genome Research Institute. Ask me about federal research funding, the Bethesda Declaration, feline viruses…anything!
u/FormerFTAFed, Rebecca Chisholm, former Knowledge Management Officer of the Federal Transit Administration. Ask me about returning to the private sector, being a federal consultant, community bands…anything!
2025 brought changes that we couldn't control, couldn't accommodate, and finally couldn't tolerate. So we resigned. Now, our resignation letters will appear alongside letters and farewells from 22 other federal employees in a new illustrated book from u/BicycleComics.
But we're mostly here to offer guidance and support to the broad community here at r/fednews. Maybe you're facing similar ethical dilemmas at work. Maybe you're wondering if we miss our old jobs, or if we've found new paths post-fed. We’ll answer your questions live today (Thursday) 1PM EDT on this thread. We're exited to hear from you!
