I paint a lot of memes/internet images as a part of my portfolio. This image was going around a bunch of internet pages as a meme/reaction image and was shared by thousands of people. It’s an image many people in the Eagles fanbase have seen this past weekend.

It doesn’t really matter who/what the kid and parent are - it could be anyone. It’s really more of the emotional weight/moment behind that viral image than anything.

the moment I saw this frame pop up on the TV, I said “I feel the exact same way”

I decided to paint it because I relate to it. I wish I could cry over our offensive coaching like that but unfortunately I am a grown adult. I think I should clarify isn’t to mock or make fun of the kid but more of a commentary on how it feels to be frustrated like this.

Obviously if the kid was recognizable I probably wouldn’t paint it. This is more about the emotion from the original image than anything. Hope this helps it be “not weird” - I never really perceived it as such.

I didn’t know artists weren’t allowed to paint children anymore. If the child’s identity/face was visible I wouldn’t but this is different. It’s capturing an emotional scene and feeling that can only be expressed by… a child.

I dunno, I hide my profile and I don't care about karma. But looking at the logo on the kids shoulder and whatever happened with his wrist where the watch was, adds to my suspicions. The skin color is the watch band color there.

Course, I could be overthinking it. The rest of the image looks good.
