Finally after months of searching got my ps5 pro. Calgary Alberta

Never had a console ever in my life, but always wanted to get one.
Now that I’m probably getting a 75” 120hz Tv in some time, I wanted to finally get one.

Very casual gaming (couple hours a week after work, if that) and not really a fan of GTA franchise, so probably not even going to play GTA6.

Pricing on new PS5 and PS5 pro is quite high. I can afford it, but looks like a foolish expense, considering I’d still need to get the games.

I tried looking for a used PS5/slim on marketplace but it is littered with some pretty sketchy listings. (At least in KW region)

I’d want to play some online games like COD,OW, and couple offline ones RDD2, god of war, and witcher 3.

Do I just get a used PS4 pro 1Tb instead? I can probably get one for under 200.

Or do I need to pull the trigger on a ps5 regular / slim? Seems like Costco has one for 839 with 2 controllers.

I’m giving myself another 3 weeks to grab one. Otherwise I’ll just get a brand new slim.

On marketplace:
- at 500$, as soon as you send message, people delete their ad when they realize they priced it lower than others.
- At 600-650, sellers don’t even bother responding to messages
- at 700-750, I’m better off buying a brand new one and get the peace of mind + 1 year warranty from Sony.

I haven’t had any Hotstock notifications since October 9. They were restocking many times a day before that date. Any clues?

Idk if this is the correct subreddit for this but i’m looking for a monitor for a ps5 I bought recently. My budget is around 150 and i’m okay with buying used. I mainly plan to play gta 6 and games such as spider-man and GoW I got from my friends. This monitor will also be used as a secondary screen connected to my laptop. Idk if I should go with a 1440p 120hz or 4k 60hz although the 4k option might need me to stretch my budget a little. Could I get some recommendations for monitors I should look into?

I was just looking at the new deals in the store and noticed tax wasn't being added to my cart total. Did they go back to tax free purchases or is it a glitch?

yeah i know about Sony and Playstation giving the fans straight bullshit this year, no physical disks, no way of owning your own games, and etc. so yeah i am going to show you all my PS5 setup that i own for a year, the whole ecosystem since i brought it in 2025 was 716.46$, yeha i found all of these at a very good price, whoch maybe i was lucky, but even so, this ecosystem costs less than a PS5 Pro

Marketplace sucks all the listings are a lot more. Currently I have the library and thats about it. Game stores have no ps5 games if they do they are also very expensive.

In the current market. Is buying a PS5 Slim Digital open box for $650 ($730 after tax) worth it? It's from best buy. And i can also upgrade later to disc if I need it.

Fb marketplace is a shambles. Most want $650 and it isn't worth the risk.

Given the GTA 6 hype, it doesnt seem like itll get any cheaper this year. Is $730 reasonable value?
