Hey everyone!
We’re rolling out a few updates and reminders to keep [r/bromance](r/bromance) focused on what truly matters: authentic male camaraderie, brotherhood, and meaningful friendships.
Here is a breakdown of the updates and rules moving forward:
- Open Photo Sharing & Content Standards
We have removed the mandatory photo-verification process so that photo sharing is open to everyone! However, to keep the space appropriate and focused on genuine connection, the page will remain strictly Safe For Work (SFW) and no NSFW content will be allowed on the page. All photo submissions must follow our strict photo standards:
* Face-showing (no faceless photos are allowed)
* Your photo must be Safe For Work (SFW)
- Posting Limits & Account Safeguards
* Strict 1-Post-per-24-Hours Limit: To keep the feed clean, fair, and open to everyone, we have introduced a posting frequency cap of 1 post per 24 hours to give room for other bros to get some spotlight—so choose the best posting time for you! Please note that deleting your own post will not bypass this automated cooldown.
* Account Age Requirement: To combat spam, throwaway accounts, and bad actors, our automated filters have been upgraded. To submit a post in the community, accounts must now be at least 30 days old.
- Help Us Keep the Community Safe: Report What You See
Our moderation team relies heavily on community vigilance to keep this space secure and respectful.
* Report Rule-Breaking Content: User reports on public posts and comments help us catch violations quickly. If something crosses the line, flag it.
* Report Unwanted DMs: If another user steps over the boundary or initiates unwanted sexual conversations in direct messages, reporting those DMs to us via Modmail with screenshots is crucial. It allows us to take swift action and ensure those behaviors stop occurring within our community.
We realize that shifts in community guidelines can bring mixed feelings, and we completely understand that not everyone is going to agree with the direction we are taking. We apologize if this isn't the change some of you were hoping for. However, this is the path we are setting for the subreddit moving forward. We believe it makes the community more open and sustainable, and if this new direction isn't for you, we completely understand if you choose to move on and find a space that better fits your preferences.
As always, thank you for helping us keep [r/bromance](r/bromance) safe, welcoming, and focused on male friendships.
