Question How do yall lock up your boards?

I am pretty new to the boosted world. I actually just got my board today from kind fella on the sub. I’m loving it but wondering what’s the best way to keep someone from walking off with it??

For context I use it to commute around a college campus so the lock is really just to keep someone from walking off with it. I’m not worried about the nitty gritty taking it a part. Also there are much more appealing things to steal in the bike rack than a 10 year old skateboard…

Just logically thinking a cable lock doesn’t seem like it would be able to “secure” it it seems like you could easily slip it out of the loop… so is there something to mount to the board and then lock it that way? I’m also planning to tack an AirTag to it so I can track it if something happens.

My uni outlawed brining any means of transportation with a battery inside the buildings as people bought temu boards and scooters and they blew up…

Hello all. It's probably a dumb question, but does anyone know if these would work on a Boosted Mini X? Or has anyone ran these before? Not looking to change mine out, these just caught my eye. Thanks guys!

I wanted to use the parts of them to put one back together and get it working but no longer interested in doing the work. All are probably RLOD

Parting out my Boosted V1 stash. If you run a Gen 1 board, you know how tough it is to find replacement drive hardware and working electronics. Everything here is genuine OEM and ready to ship.

  1. Orangatang In Heat 75mm 80a Wheels
All urethane is in mint condition, practically unridden with sharp factory edges, clear lettering, and zero chunking.
V1 Rear Drive Wheels (w/ bolted CNC metal pulleys installed): 6 available (3 pairs)
    Price: $85 shipped per pair
Standard Front Wheels: 6 available (3 pairs)
    Price: $35 shipped per pair
Full Board Wheel Set (2 Drive + 2 Front): $110 shipped
    Entire 12-Wheel Lot: $280 shipped

  2. OEM V1 Remotes (2 Available)
Condition & Testing: Board deck electronics gave out, so these haven't been ridden recently, but both remotes pass all hardware checks. They hold a full charge, power on cleanly, enter Bluetooth pairing mode with the 5-click command, and both the throttle wheel spring and trigger click crisply.
Price: $85 shipped each (or $150 shipped for both)

  3. OEM V1 Dual / Dual+ Chargers
Condition: Original factory power bricks in solid working order. Clean cabling and good connectors, ideal as a replacement or a spare office charger.
    Price: $45 shipped each

Question Battery light not reaching green - any thoughts?

Post image
4 Upvotes

Hi everyone, just a quick question. I bought a new battery from someone on eBay as my old battery had the RLOD. It’s been working fine but it never reaches green when I charge it. What is the best thing to do? Keep using it with it not reaching green or I’ve seen a few people say leave it charging for a couple weeks (which does worry me slightly!). Any advice appreciated!

Question Looking for a Bert for rent/lend

Hey all, I'm a big boosted lover (rode over 8000km), but just for the first time experienced RLOD on my boosted mini x. The battery has lasted 5000km so far, and it was purely caused by me pushing the battery past its empty point (we live and we learn). I would either way like to fix it using a bert, and am wondering if anybody in the community would like to lend/rent or even trade (I have a LOT of boosted parts like remotes, motors and trucks!). I am based in the Netherlands, please feel free to send me a private message if you can help :)

Kind regards,
Victor

Question Socal riders

Going to be in Socal this weekend, can anyone suggest some good areas to skate near the beach? I've ridden a bike Santa Monica to Venice which is fun, particularly with all the sights around Venice.

Any other good paths south of Venice? Is there a path that goes from near LAX continuously near the beach?

Question Shipping Question for Stealth

Anyone have any advice on how to ship a Stealth internationally? I'm in California and someone wants to buy my board from Australia. Two main issues is that I am missing the original box, so I don't know how to pack it and I know there are some issues with shipping lithium batteries. Any advice would be appreciated.

Just swapped my 105mm wheels for the standard 80mm ones and now one rear wheel specifically wobbles side to side and also creates a grinding sound when spun. Also hella vibrates when riding. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Discussion Boosted Board XR Battery Construction

Thumbnail

Just really surprising to see a battery this old being built with .3mm nickel plated COPPER and all the batteries sit on huge heat sinks with multiple means of separating cells, 3 thermistors and a relatively annoyingly complex BMS.

By contrast, the Meepo packs I've opened of a similar general spec for boards that are more powerful on paper be built with a massively uninspiring .1mm nickel, extremely fragile carriers, minimal insulation, and no heat sinks of any kind. Some of their welds can be pulled off easily by hand, too.

I'm not really an expert, but I do believe it's built with a excessive safety factor in mind and makes it fairly hard to build back to its original standard.

Pretty cool though. I haven't really done an audit or anything. Nickel plated copper isn't THAT exotic plenty of Ryobi and other powertool packs use it (at .2mm) ... .3mm is quite stout.

I had two dead-dead XR packs. One had all healthy cells besides P group 10, which was at 0 volts. The other had basically every thing at ~1v or less besides P group 10, also, which was also at 0 volts. The LG HG2 from the good pack are impressive. They're old but still have retained pretty great capacity and resistance figures all things considered.

Question Fair price for a Boosted Board V2?

I have a boosted board v2 that I haven't used in years. Still have box and all parts, including standard battery. It has 900 miles on it.

What would fair market price be for it?

Question BERT Lite question

Hey y'all, new to boosted boards, but picked up a used one and a BERT Lite to fix the battery issue. Only think is that when I have it plugged in (to wall or my windows laptop) I only see 7-8 solid green lights, then the 9th light blinking occasionally. Does this mean something bad? Can I fix it? I can't unfortunately see what is happening inside the BERT because the software to view it is stuck at the screen that says, "The wiping process will start once you follow the instructions above." even if I try what it says to do.

Any advice is welcome! I'll try to be good about responding on here since I don't use reddit that often.

Edit: The board I got was a used stealth model.

Seller had the board as a backup and kept it on the charger when it was idle.

I’m still learning how to ride it and it’s both fun and scary lol. The weather is not great so it gets used every other day at the moment.

How do I prevent RLOD and should I keep it plugged in? Also is there any issues due to it being on an older firmware.

Thanks in advance!!

Troubleshooting Not RLOD?

I picked this board up locally for an incredible price. I bought it knowing that it would most likely be used for spare parts. Board is essentially brand new. Been sitting in a garage for a while. Can someone help me diagnose the lights on this SR battery?
