Recently, I was trying play Castlevania: Symphony of the Night (using the randomizer launcher for ease of use) under the "Naked Alucard" challenge ruleset (can't equip weapons or armor), and I'd gotten 12 hours in (Inverted Castle, beaten Medusa, was in Reverse Colosseum) when I tried reloading my save and somehow fumbled it so hard I wound up deleting my save data. Now that two weeks have passed I'm getting the craving to do it again, and this time I want to set up some precautions so this doesn't happen again. Is there a way to automatically make a backup copy of the save data once every 30 minutes or so?

I'm trying to install the program but the prereqs keep running into a problem with wine when I run the .exe and I can't tell if that is also causing the problem with EmuHawk. First picture is the the error the prereq installer gets, the second is EmuHawk

Edit: It seems to sort of work (albeit with admin privilege) when using the 2.9.1 version, but I run into other seemingly unrelated issues loading a rom

Hi, first time here—having a little trouble exporting the results of a TAS recording—using 2.9.1, I'm trying to encode an mp4 video, but for some reason the program keeps splitting the video up into a large number of segmented parts—usually between 6 and 9.

I've used the recommended encoding settings from TASvideos.org to do a handful of other videos, and I've never run into this problem before. I'm wondering if I've checked (or unchecked) a box or if it's a specific software thing. Anyone willing to help, or need any more specifics, I can supply them if needed. Thanks in advance!

If anyone can help at all I would appreciate it. I would really like to not restart this game and I was having trouble getting the memory card save to stick so i was just using quick saves and quick saved last night then went to bed.

STROOP needs to know the emulator's RAM start address, and I can't figure it out.

UPDATE: Never mind, STROOP already got it right. The refactored STROOP doesn't support BizHawk, so you need to use the old STROOP.

So I've used bizhawk for over five years now and suddenly i'm starting to experience problems. While trying to fullscreen the emulator (specifically while a game is running) ,causes the fps to fluctuate between 55-60 fps. While this wouldn't usually bother me, the fact that the audio stutters makes the experience more annoying. I've tried switching renders in the emulator but nothing seems to fix it. Anyone know the problem?

I was just curious is there any update to when bizhawk will add multiset achievements to the emulator? Really am hoping to do some achievements for pokemon games with this emulator as it runs buttery smooth!

hi. recently i had an issue that appears seemingly random. when i go into config and change the button mapping on my (in this case switch n64) controller it shows that it recieves "J1rotation y+" inputs out of nothing with J1 beeing the name of the controller. even if the controller is unmoving and flat on the table. there were no other devices connected to my pc and moving the controller myself does not make those inputs so im really at a loss here. i didnt use it last time but i think the problem also ocurred with my pro controller. it happens when i emulate n64 or gba games. i tried all the restarts and reconnects possible and dont know what else to do.

no matter if I put it vertacally or horizontally it won't fit nicely in obs so is there a way to at least reduce the size of just 1 of the screen?

I was trying to record my gameplay of a GBA game and saw some option called record movie and stuff, when I pressed to start recording the emulator rebooted and on save select screen it showed all my progress was gone.

I pressed to stop recording and closed the emulator. But still my save files didn't show up. Is there any way to get them back? Is this behavior intended or is it a bug?

Am I able to turn the internal resolution up for the experimental PPSSPP core, or is it too new?

I have a problem with the sensitivity of my Sticks. No Matter what i do in the Configs, i either have Reverse Slow Movement or just full throttle movement. Deadzone options don´t exist so i have Flicking constantly.

Anyone got any Tips what i can do to get a "Normal" Stick? 😃

on Ubuntu 26.04 and an update broke how things work. Not even the 2.11.1 release works.

I'm trying to run the Lua script provided here:

I load up the Pokemon Platinum ROM, then I click Tools -> Lua Console -> Script -> Open Script -> startAll.lua.

And nothing happens. At best, the tiny Play button beside the name of the script changes to a tiny Stop button, but there's no change to the state of the game. It remains on the Main Menu and none of the button presses from the script(s) seem to be applied to the game. Nothing appears in the Output section of the Lua window.

I'm not sure what I'm missing. There's seemingly no "Start Script" button, so I honestly have no idea if the script is even RUNNING at all. How do I run this script?

Hello! I'm wondering if it's possible to have BizHawk on the AYN Thor which runs on Android? I saw that you can stream BizHawk on Twitch and, with plugins, allow your chat to interact with your rom/game. I'm a Twitch streamer who is awaiting their Thor and plans to stream retro emulation, hoping to find some way to implement Twitch Integration. Any advice or direction is welcome :)

ive been using bizhawk to play old DS games with retroachievements, and so far ive been noticing that when i move the Dpad or analog stick

it will occasionally just SHOOT off in the direction i was going, and refuse to stop for a short time

i cant seem to find any settings to try fiddling with a deadzone for it, and its making playing games super uncomfortable
anyway to fix this? i dont exactly have money to drop on a new controller (and this one isnt that old/isnt drifting in other use cases)

id play on melonDS directly if it had retroachievement support and didnt experience these kinds of issues when playing melonDS itself (beat all of runefactory 3 on that)
