Feature Hi Reddit, I'm Jonah Keri. AMA.

Howdy hey!

My name is Jonah Keri, I'm a baseball writer for Grantland and author of the book, "Up, Up, & Away", a really fun (and occasionally autobiographical) look at the history of the Montreal Expos, told via ~130 interviews with ex-players (Pedro Martinez! Andre Dawson! Tim Raines! Rusty Staub!), managers, owners, and many more.

The book comes out today and is available at bookstores near you, online (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/0307361357/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=0307361357&linkCode=as2&tag=jonahkericom-20), as an e-book (https://itunes.apple.com/us/book/up-up-and-away/id707326028?mt=11), and in various other places.

Though baseball is my vocation, I'm also a native Montrealer with strong opinions about everything from bagels to standing desks. So go nuts. I'm excited to chat.

Aside from breaking the bank for Cano, though, I'm not sure what they really could've done. They need to save $$$ to re-up Wieters or Davis or both (not to mention Hardy, who I love), and most of their roster was set. Even next season with Shields and Price hitting the market I expect them to sit tight because they have such high hopes for Gausman, Bundy and, down the road, Harvey. I guess I'd take a (another?) run at Kendrys Morales to DH, but they are so high on Lough's D that Cruz will most likely be the DH almost exclusively.

They'd be fools to re-up Hardy, who is a good player but is blocking Machado at his natural position, is over 30, and doesn't hit well enough for 3b or SS (not to mention the fact that it's unknown if he'll shift positions).

So they should move a GG third baseman to his "natural position" and do what at third? It's not broke and is actually pretty damn good. And Hardy led the league in homers at SS, so you clearly have no idea what you are talking about.

I'm a big fan of Wieters and Hardy (missed out on drafting them last weekend). I could see them trying to get extensions as there arent that many players available at their level. They need an ace tho, if that comes from the farm or FA, time will tell.

Im not a big fan of Cruz, he could be decent as a DH if used right tho.

Price won't be a free agent until after the 2015 season.

Price isn't hitting the market after this season unless you trade for him.

Word...can't figure why I included him/thought he was a FA.
