LeBron established himself as a GOAT candidate in Cleveland and Jose Ramirez probably still means more to the city.

[u/RulersBack → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

100% dude had every reason to leave then took one of the biggest discounts ever. Not a slight at Bron but it's more about what Jose has done and continues to do. He'll be more beloved no question

[u/Apprehensive-Sir-411 → u/RulersBack]

It’s a shame the team still has the lowest payroll in MLB after that much unselfishness.

[u/RedBuchan → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

We all hate the Dolans

[u/Bird_nostrils → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

Lowkey looking forward to the lockout because imposing a floor will make the Dolans pay more

[u/Kitchen_accessories → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

Jose stayed.

[u/Stowcenter93 → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

Bron will always have the market power and the star power but the love for Jose is unlike anything this city has experienced.

[u/smully39 → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

Of course. Jose never left - never mind the whole show LeBron made of it.

[u/Apprehensive-Sir-411 → u/smully39]

JRam has been the best at his position for a damn decade without any ego. He’s retiring in your city, no doubt in my mind.

[u/Zazaku → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

I'll riot if he's not a coach after retiring.

[u/dallascowboys93 → u/smully39]

He came back and won a chip for the city tho

[u/Jepordee → u/dallascowboys93]

Guards just mean more to Cleveland. That being said, if Josey gets one…it’s over

[u/dallascowboys93 → u/Jepordee]

I believe in JRam

[u/Altruistic-Zone1664 → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

Well, Jose is a future hall of famer that actually chose to stay.

[u/Spider-Sword → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

If Josey wills us to the World Series he’s above LeBron.

LeBron came back like it was a burden to him and I love LeBron but Josey has embraced the city entirely

[u/Alternative-Bad-6555 → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

LeBron is the goat but Jose is the beloved

[u/WhoDatBrow → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

No disrespect but I don't think anybody outside of the type of people who post in /r/baseball would agree with this. But you're in the right place to get all the Clevelanders who would agree!

[u/gotbadnews → u/WhoDatBrow]

Nah pretty much everyone I know loves Jose way more than LeBron. The championship was a great year but LeBron has never been about Cleveland. He ruined that chance the first time he left with “the decision”. LeBron is about LeBron, Jose is about the team and Cleveland.

[u/Apprehensive-Sir-411 → u/WhoDatBrow]

There’s a significant difference between greatness and loyalty, and JRam has both in spades.

[u/RulersBack → u/WhoDatBrow]

I'd never try and break down the sports politics of Houston bc I'm not tapped in. You have no idea what you're talking about

[u/WhoDatBrow → u/RulersBack]

Dang, my bad for only moving here after my baseball fandom was secured in childhood. Wait til you hear what football team I'm a fan of. Hint: They're in Ohio.

[u/RulersBack → u/WhoDatBrow]

Then it's even more embarrassing for you to be so wrong

[u/WhoDatBrow → u/RulersBack]

You have the biased view of a baseball fan and that's okay. But what's embarrassing is acting the way you're acting about it lol

[u/TylerGlasass20 → u/Apprehensive-Sir-411]

Because Jose literally loves Cleveland and LeBron loves uh…money?
