Do Not Discuss Bar Exam Content

Good luck on the exam!

Tomorrow, legacy examinees will take the MEE (no topic disclosures allowed) and the MPT (no content disclosures allowed). Wednesday they will take the MBE (no disclosure of questions and answers).

NextGen examinees will get two, three-hour sections of new-style questions (including some multiple choice that are similar to the MBE) on Tuesday and one more three-hour section Wednesday. All items from this exam are secure and may be reused on a future exam and may not be disclosed.

Also, accommodated examinees for both exams will be testing all week and would benefit from disclosures of content earlier in the week.

This is an issue of fairness, copyright (which could get the sub shut down), and ethics. NCBE does monitor this subreddit and regularly contacts us regarding violations of these rules. You also agreed to these terms as part of the exam rules.

Therefore, any discussions of exam content as described above will result in bans.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation on this, and good luck on the exam!

Hi folks,

The bar prep channels are once again open and available in the /r/lawschool discord server.

Click this link to join!

Once you arrive, please make sure you assign yourself the JD role so that you will be able to see the bar prep channel.

Once you have assigned yourself a role. Navigate to the channel called #bar-preppies. There you will find:

  • Support from attorneys who have already passed the bar.

  • Free study resources.

  • Friendly folks who will study along with you.

Please be patient as the channel populates with more bar preppers. We are just beginning our recruitment for Feb '24, and we hope to have a large group joining us once again this year. Past years have seen study groups of 50 or more folks.

Good luck, everybody!

I PASSED

Born homeless —> passed the Oregon bar exam today. To say it feels surreal is a massive understatement. The LSAT was the first standardized test I’ve ever taken and the bar exam was my second. I hope this means I’ll start believing I’m smart and capable. Damn, this was stressful and I think waiting was the worst part.

Multi-time re-taker - FINALLY passed the UBE - my story

Hi everyone! Just wanted to share my story as a multi-time re-taker who FINALLY found out today that I passed the Oregon Next Gen UBE, since it’s been a journey that’s lasted over 4 years. I have taken the UBE more times than I count. Prior to July 2026, I took the Legacy UBE SEVERAL times in IL and once in OR, all since February 2022. The highest I scored prior to July 2026 was a 256 on the Legacy UBE. I decided it was time for a fresh start and took the Next Gen UBE in Oregon for this first administration of it. I am so ecstatic to say that I found out today that I scored a 622 on the July 2026 OR Next Gen UBE, passing in all jurisdictions that currently accept the next-gen scores. This exam is finally in the back burner and I can’t even begin to explain the emotions I went through today in finding out the results. I genuinely did not think I was going to pass and was already mentally preparing on retaking it for the millionth time in February 2027. I am posting this all to say that if you didn’t pass this time, or are a multi-time re-taker and are losing hope, this isn’t the end. You WILL eventually pass. And once you do, ALL of your efforts will feel validated and worth it.

Looking for insight.

• Upvotes

So failed July 25/26. Yes I’m sad but life goes on. But my dilemma is when I should take the next bar exam. I know it’s dependent on me but any insight will help. Here’s a few of my concerns if I take it after Feb 2027 + A few pros

  1. Have to redo my NCBE

  2. Have to retake the MPRE (regardless)

  3. No clue what NextGen entails besides what I’ve read and heard.

  4. More time to stack money and study.

  5. Concerned with more time comes more procrastination (I have this problem really bad I don’t know what’s wrong with me)

  6. Have to work but my parents said they might be able to cover me for at least a month of not working (if I take in Feb)

  7. More time to get myself looked at regarding ADHD & such but not sure how much that would help because the bar examiners notoriously deny accomnotations if you haven’t had them your whole life.

I’m just stuck and don’t know WHAT to do. Paying for another exam AND prep is going to STRESS me out but I can technically do it would just be hard to fully study because I’d have to get the money back up…

plus I really need Themis for the structure but could I get by with adaptibar or UWorld & studicada? I also still have my Themis materials.

Any tips?

News cycle piling on exam failure

All the discourse around the new White House Press Secretary is really not helping me cope with my failed exam results from last week. Now every news analyst and influencer is explaining that I’m not a lawyer just because I graduated from law school. Just what I needed for my mental health.

(Not out) NJ want a fun fact about grading

Based on last year's applicant numbers (959), to have graded all of the exams by tomorrow, they only need to do 17 tests a day.... 17! And there are minimum 5 graders (I'm sure there are more, but let's give benefit of the doubt), so that's 3 tests a day per grader, only the essays because MCQs are done by Scantron. So.... Yeah, did that math and now I'm more mad 😂

I think I’ll try to be a true lunatic tomorrow morning

As an Ohio taker currently on the west coast I am debating how to handle getting results at 5 AM. I’m telling myself that I will wake up at leisurely hour, make myself a pumpkin spice latte and then check. The odds of that happening are near zero but I like to imagine it will happen

Studying for the NextGen in February (Working Full time)

Hello everyone.

I am in the process of making a plan to study again. I unfortunately didn’t pass the July bar exam. Embarrassingly off to even mention. Still trying to recover. 😔 😢
I know timing is definitely something that I need to work on for sure. Didn’t finish and it definitely reflected….
Anyway. I am looking to get the Helix course. I have to work as well. I have a mortgage and other financial responsibilities that I am responsible for.

Is anyone else working and starting a study schedule for February?
Did anyone else try Helix Bar Review and found it very helpful?
I could also use some strategies to help with timing and also feedback on ICQS and how to be successful on PT’s as well. What has anyone found that was helpful?
I might also need to get access to Adaptbar again as well just to as many as MCQ’s as possible.

Positive vibes only.. and thanks in advance. I feel disheartened, but I am going to keep going.

(NOT RESULTS) NY Bar Exam Placeholder Listed on NCBE

Hi all!

So based on this Reddit page it seems like the NCBE finally put a ny bar exam placeholder under “score services” on the NCBE website. However, it’s not showing up for me. Now freaking out and wondering if any of you know what this means…

Very anxious person and now freaking out thinking this means I failed 😅😅
