I've been going through a skateboard collection from an acquaintance who passed away a while back. There's a lot of interesting stuff, including this Spirit World Field Guide deck.

It's never been mounted, gripped, or skated. Just has a little wear from being stored.

I'm familiar with Aesop Rock, but I don't really follow his music. I came across this deck and started looking into it, and apparently they're pretty scarce. Figured this would be a good place to share it.

I've finished my first adult year without alcohol. Listening to Aesop Rock work on himself and improve was a big motivator to look inward and see what was hurting me.

Anyway...

I put this question into Google and it didn't come up with a date. There's footage of him with Rob Sonic and DJ Zone on August 23, 2017 performing for the release of the Bushwick soundtrack. And there's a tour poster of "Crucial Fest" in Salt Lake City on September 2-3, but I can't find any recordings from that festival. Anyone know?

Aesop really repeats himself a lot. This is something I've thought about ever since that chart came out a few years ago showing him as the most verbose rapper. Eventually they found someone even higher and now nobody talks about it lol. But ever since then, when I listen to his music, I notice just how often he will repeat certain words or phrases, which kinda makes his distinction on the chart even more impressive. I mean, take a song like "Bag Lunch", for example. Or lines like "reported from an orbit all his own to say it gently, I'm reporting from an orbit all my own and say it gently..." It makes me chuckle because my first thought was that he was doing this type of thing on purpose to kinda buck against being so high on the chart, but even back in the day he was doing stuff like that. I dunno, just something I think about sometimes. "Trouble Trouble" probably brought it back to my mind because of how much he uses the word "trouble". 🤷

Does anybody know what the opening "rock through the window" dialogue is from? It sounds kind of like family guy but I'm not sure.

Easily the greatest EP I’ve ever heard. I’m also a metal her with a lot of eps under my belt. Like I’m listening to it now and it’s hard to type lol. He puts words together like nobody else. He always has but damn he really hit it hard with his first. I know all the floatheads aren’t gone like it but……..Also Float is amazing in itself and labor and music but i jusr don’t know if it tops this. He is a different person so I can understand it from non Aes heads lol.
