This was an AP1 as well, so ~9000 RPM in 3rd and god knows how high when it hit 2nd.

Get one now. They aren't making any more of them and the tuners are all tuning them. Finding an unmolested AP1 is getting harder and harder. Don't be afraid of miles, but do be sure to take it to an independent mechanic who works on S2000s and get it looked over.

Just traded my 2001 AP1 in a few weeks ago, pretty much unmolested @ 60k miles. Dealer sold immediately at 27k. Helped that I had all the expensive work done already (new glass soft top, AP2 retainers, new master/slave clutch cylnder, new headlights)
