Just need some hype! Found the one while solo
I ended up finding my dress the one and only time I went to look at dresses alone… Just want some hype to feel better about making the choice I did!

Insert some rambling mess that is my quarterly screeching about reading community guidelines. I'm tired. I don't feel like writing or being polite today.

Here is your chance. All of the comments will be archived into a wiki page. Alterations specialists, stylists, day of coordinating, spill the beans.
What do you wants the bride's to know before they even buy a dress or even start thinking of getting a dress? What questions are you sick and tired of answering because of blatant misinformation that goes around? What are some behaviors you really wish would stop?
If you would prefer to drop the info anonymously, feel free and send a modmail to us and go "for the bride's" in the subject line so we can keep an eye out.

I almost had to unsubscribe from here at a point because I was having such severe dress regret and fear and couldn’t take seeing any more dresses. I kept worrying I picked “too simple” (no floral/etc on it). Anyway, we got married on Saturday, and idk what my problem was because it was the dress of my dreams just like I thought when I first said yes. This is your sign to believe in your choice and have a beautiful wedding! Congrats brides to be! It’s stressful out there overthinking everything. 🤪

Returned and refunded last dress Dad bought. He hurt a lot of people in the family and made some racist comment to my srep brother. I no longer feel comfortable wearing the dress I returned to him this week along with his money and receipt for the wedding dress he bought.

And I’m sad because I feel like my bust didn’t fit the dress. I loved it in alterations, but I was so nervous because I’m very busty and I’ve always had difficulty finding things that fit. On my wedding day, I tried taping, but it just wasn’t working.
Anyways, I think the photos still came out good. But I can’t help but feel a little insecure when looking at these. The dress was beautiful, I just wish I could’ve gotten a reduction before the wedding

I walked in expecting I would like a simple and classy Mikado mermaid, but when I put on this dress, everything changed! It's a blush color with sparkly appliques, and I absolutely love it. I'm going to add buttons along the back, but I'm leaving everything else the same! I'm getting married at a beachside venue, and this dress has the perfect romantic touch.

Big shout out to Bride n Belle in Medford, MA!! I told them my budget was 1,000 but that I was willing to go more for my dream dress. I picked this one off the “off the rack” spot, and it did not have a price tag. Instead of high balling me, they said they could do just $1,000! Designer is Justin Alexander. I am going to pair it with an elegant, simple lace & pearl choker!

I have always loved boho style dresses, and I'm also very anti-tradition in general (but especially when it comes to weddings). This dress is so beautiful and I love it so so much. My wedding will be in September of next year so I just don't want to jump the gun too much. I'm also afraid of it not being "bridal" enough (even though I don't really care about that) and also there's not a ton of structure in the bodice so I'm not sure if boning would be able to be added after the fact (if it even needs it, I'm not sure)
For context: my wedding venue is a cottage inn by the lake, and it'll be a whole weekend getaway (2 night stay for all guests). My fiance and I want it to be a very relaxed vibe, it's not going to be super formal at all, and I feel like this dress would potentially go with that kind of feeling. However I am also diagnosed ADHD and struggle heavily with impulsive decisions so I'm just hoping that's not involved in how I feel right now :') thanks for any feedback!

Found a beautiful sample dress in mikado silk but it has these stains!! Do you think it would come out with a dry cleaner or too risky!?
r/weddingdress • u/Toasterjeep • 1h ago
I’m doing a destination wedding and this is my dress I don’t know how much sand there will be but I’m assuming a bit bit that I won’t have to walk through much of it. I absolutely hate styling anything and everything. I’m not a belts and fancy shoes person so now that I’ve come down to having to buy my wedding shoes I need help.
My fiance is 5’8 and so am I so I don’t want to be much taller than him plus I want to be comfy. I’m thinking either open or closed but lacy? Maybe? I don’t know, help.

this page has given me so much clarity!! i've narrowed it down to my top 2. My venue is at a vineyard in Virginia (has a nice fountain, garden, and a sailcloth tent). #1 really made me feel so bridal, havent had that feeling before, but #2 has a "wow" factor to it, though it does make my hips look wide. Or is it my body dysmorphia? I plan on cinching my hips more with #1 with alterations.

After five different recent appointments, I was beginning to get discouraged… then I found her:
Berta Athena Collection
Pre-Loved
Fraction of the msrp
Perfect for my reception look ✨
Quiet unassuming weekday appointment at a local consigner / wedding dress shop.
It’ll need some alterations but if I had to wear as is, pretty dang close.
My vision was glamorous, glittery, a little extra and a little vintage

Here to say that if you find a dress you love and others are skeptical, trust your heart! I had some along the way be negative about my choice in dress or cutting off my train. I knew in my heart it was right even though a few times i almost was swayed. You're all beautiful, trust your vision 🩷
Got married on 9/18 and it was perfection. I just wanted to share because a few times i doubted myself because of the opinions of others, and I am glad i stuck to it.

So my wedding isn’t until May 2028, but I’ve started looking at dresses now so that I can figure out what I like. Well, went to a bridal store near me, and found the first dress in the window. Well turns out it’s being discontinued, and is on a super sale—$750 for a beautiful dress. A dress that is so totally me. It will take some altering since it’s a slightly smaller size, but the seamstresses are sure that they’ll be able to fix it for me, considering that the dress normally comes with extra remove able sleeves that they’ll use to fix it, and even add the corset I want a sweetheart neckline. How soon is too soon to get a dress?

Hi all
UK based bride - 2028
Does anyone know of a dupe of this dress? The draping across the hips is the key part for me!! I am looking to spend max £2200.
Thank you 🙈

I’m looking for anyone that wore the Lucinda wedding dress from Azazie! I’ve only found a couple of pics online so hoping to find more on other bodies!! I just want to see the dress in real life. I’m wearing this as a second dress so only looking to spend around 500 (if you have some other suggestion like this dress). Thank you!

Hi! I'm eloping in Venice, Italy in less than 2 months.
I know the dress needs a steam and some better undergarments, but I'd love some opinions and accessory ideas. I am thinking a Mantilla veil and some flats with a pointed toe. What do y'all think?

I think I prefer mikado in terms of fabric, but afraid it might be too simple. The building corset for the Suzanne Neville ones (2nd and 3rd) is so flattering and comfortable, I love it, I'm not sure about the crepe. Originally I wasn't thinking lace but, I also like the uniqueness it adds.
[EDIT] Wow, everybody in this thread has been so supportive and flattering, I'm truly blown away. Thank you for all the love. The question about the venue is a good point, it's a blend of Japanese and Western, quite grandeur, banquet hall. Chat GPT describes it as: Art Deco aesthetic, blending early 20th-century European architecture with traditional Japanese motifs... Although I don't know enough about architecture history to judge whether that's accurate lol
I can't edit my original post to add photos of the venue but here's a link a photo
