I use this saw quite a bit so I want to keep it in good shape and really finally tuned. Can anyone recommend a website or reference work that will help me keep this tool performing well for the rest of its, or at least my, life?

Another tool for my vintage Watch Repair Kit:

A VIGOR sleeve wrench, not sure on its age, but these were definitely about in the 1940s with the K&D ones.

Anyone know anything about a B&D Super Sawcat 999?

I got one of these this week and it doesn't even hum when the trigger is pulled. I'm sure the little coil sticking out of the back of the motor mount is probably somewhat related.

I can find nothing online about the 999 except one YouTube video of a dude who polished the whole thing to a mirror shine.

Everything im finding is for a desktop fan and this thing is huge with a cast iron housing. Any help or info would be appreciated.

Anyone an old automotive buff?

My googling lead me to information it’s a tire changing something from the Model T era? It’s got a spring handle that ratchets. Chapstick for size as I was fresh out of bananas.

Update: Mapson Valve Lifter

What is this saw?

I came across this saw in a thrift spot on the side of the road that gets very little travels. Looks vintage to me, but I can't figure out exactly WHAT it is. The last picture is a different saw.

EDIT: I KNOW THAT IT IS A HACKSAW. MAYBE I SHOULD HAVE STATED MY QUESTION BETTER. I'M TRYING TO FIGURE OUT THE BRAND AND ERA OF THE SAWS... I KINDA FELT THE ENTIRE HACKSAW THING WAS SELF EXPLANATORY.

1940s(?) Wolf power drill questions

Thumbnail gallery

I'm looking to get this drill back up and running, not for actual use, but just to keep it alive and kicking.

I know this drill was running and fine to use before it was disassembled by a curious family member about 12 years ago but there are some obviously missing parts and who knows what smaller bits might be gone.

Please excuse me while I don't know the proper terms for things.

1st question: Based on the photos, does it look like someone could clean up the electrical bits or are there obvious issues with some of the parts? The chuck still spins freely and can open and close on drill bits, the main shaft and gear that you screw the chuck onto is well greased and spins smoothly. All wires feel sturdy and well connected but everything has a thin covering of grease and grime so it's hard to tell visually.

2nd question: Is there anyone familiar with these tools at all and can tell me what might be missing. I know there are four large and important screws/bolts missing that hold the body and inner plate thing together. I'm missing most, if not all the screws needed for the holes around the handle. I know I've got the brush and brush caps on the right of picture 3 but I'm not sure what those two pairs of (brass?) plates are in the middle, nor where the bearings above would go.

In all honestly I'm hoping I can find something like a Haynes service manual you can get for your car but I haven't come across much yet for this and I'm not holding out hope based on how old I think it is.

Worst case scenario, I'll assemble it as much as I can and repaint it in the original colour. There's still some bronze/brown/coppery type paint left in spots so I'll try find a colour match. It's a cool tool at the end of the day.
