Hi,

I'm traveling to London the end of this month and looking to take my fiance to nice intimate Italian restaurant that has vegan and gluten free options (it can be pizza or pasta) Are there any good recommendations you can share? Would greatly appreciate it!

Vegan Footballers Group- London

⚽🌱 Vegan and love football? 🌱⚽

Fancy a kickabout with a friendly bunch of vegans? We are a vegan footballers group and play 5-a-side once a month, usually in Shoreditch.

It’s very casual and welcoming — all genders, ages and abilities are welcome, whether you’re a seasoned footballer or haven’t kicked a ball in years!

We usually head for some food and drinks afterwards too!

It’s a really nice group and a great way to meet other vegans in London.

DM me if you’d like to join! ⚽💚

Go Falafel give it a try!

Hey everyone! I hope you‘re all well.
I‘ve been working for a while in Go Falafel in Charing Cross and left like over a year ago. Sadly, after speaking with old colleagues I got to hear that not as many customers come to our restaurant as in the past.

So, I thought why not and maybe try to get some new customers by leaving a comment on Reddit!

They offer great falafel wraps including: hummus, chilli, lettuce, tomatoes and cucumbers, and pickles. The store used to be completely vegan, however, they added extras such as feta cheese, halloumi cheese, and sun-dried tomatoes.
During Lunchtime the most favourite order was the falafel salad box. It includes 4 pieces of falafel, bread, hummus, and 5 daily made salads which you can pick out.

Would really appreciate your support, as this place was one where I made great friends, and had a lot of lovely memories in.
PS: Falafel has lots of Protein and is healthy! Why not give it a try?

UK-based Participants needed for vegan & non-vegan dining study

Hi everyone,

I’m a postgraduate researcher at the University of Surrey, and I’m currently recruiting participants for a study exploring how vegan and non-vegan pairs make menu choices together when eating out, especially when plant-based meat alternatives are available as an option they could both choose.

Who can take part?

I’m looking for two people who can participate together as a pair:

  • one vegan and one omnivore/non-vegan
  • family members, or colleagues (not spouses or romantic partners)
  • !!! SORRY NO MORE FRIENDS, I JUST NEED COLLEAGUES AND FAMILY MEMBERS NOW !!!!
  • who have eaten out together within the past 3 months at a restaurant offering plant-based meat alternatives

(If you think it may have been more than three months ago, please let me know.)

What does participation involve?

  • Both participants take part at the same time
  • The interview can be conducted in person or via Microsoft Teams
  • It takes approximately 45–60 minutes

Each participant will receive a £10 Amazon voucher as a thank-you for taking part.

If you’re interested or would like to check whether you’re eligible, please feel free to send me a private message.

I’ve also included the study poster with further details.

Thank you!

Maidstone - takeaway or restaurants

I'm on a work course soon and staying for three nights. The hotel has a restaurant attached but after speaking to them today they have *nothing* for vegans. They have said I can speak to the chef and he'll see what he can do, but I'm not holding out much hope.

Are there any good restaurants or places I can get takeaway delivered to near ME14 off Forstal Rd?

I've seen a Papa Joe's nearby that delivers and also a Premier Inn (sadly not staying there) with a restaurant that has some ok options. Anywhere else?

Anyone fancy vegan afternoon tea? 🫖🌱

I really want to try this vegan afternoon tea in London (Mallow), but annoyingly none of my friends are free and my boyfriend has decided £50 is an outrageous amount of money for tiny sandwiches 😂

Sooo, wondering if anyone here would actually be up for going? Ideally another woman around my age, just for a cute afternoon tea and a chat, but open to other people as well! FYI, I'm 33F.

I'm happy to exchange Instagrams/WhatsApp first so we're not literally meeting a complete Reddit stranger 😂

I’ve not seen this place mentioned here before so thought I would give it a shout out.

I’ve been here a few times. The place is called Koshary El Tahrir. It’s on Edgware Road W2, close to Paddington station.

They serve an Egyptian dish called Koshary. It is very healthy, it’s vegan, and it’s very nice.

222 Vegan

I passed by this place recently and it was closed. I see it's marked on Google maps and temporarily closed. A little digging and it looks like it;s been closed for over a year now. Does anybody know if it's coming back?
I have fond memories of this place but not been back for ages and almost forgot about it until I passed it the other day. It was one of the few vegan places around in the day and we've got a lot more choice now for plant based foods so I guess I hadn't gone back for a while

No longer vegan at this Ethiopian spot

Addis Alem was a completely vegan Ethiopian restaurant inside Nag's Head Market.

Not sure when the change occurred however I walked past on Friday and it has a name change (Bella’s Habesha Cuisine) and is no longer completely vegan. I have no idea if this is the same owners.

This new version does have vegan options and has the word 'vegan' on its sign.

Feel free to reply to this with your fave vegan Ethiopian spots in the city.

Best English vegan place?

I am back in England for a week and I will be staying in London for a few days (not sure where yet) amd I really fancy an English roast. Any recommendations? And any other good places to eat well? Maybe somewhere to find vegan scones and savoury and sweet pastries?

Just no 5 star restaurants. My budget isn't limitless.

Thanks :)

Nice black vegan boots?

I've been researching vegan boots for ages and really struggling. I've looked at the Doc Martens Jaden Monos (the vegan leather looks tacky to me online, and people say quality has gone down?), Nae Vegan (style not quite right), Solovair (too shiny), Vegetarian Shoes (don't like style), Heavenly Feet (like the look but reviews say they fall apart the moment they get wet).

I really like these Thursday Boots but they ship from the US (too messy with sizing and customs) and are sold out anyway (for style reference): https://thursdayboots.com/products/womens-dolce-zip-up-boot-black-vegan

I want something in this black sorta combat boot style with a zip ideally, that looks nice enough I can also wear it in formal situations (edgy formal I guess). I find a lot of the vegan boots the way the stitching is done makes it look a bit too rough for me use.

Anyone know anything that would fit this? Or somewhere that stocks the Thursday Boots in London?

I've spent so many hours researching, halp.

Vegan Turkish food in London?

As above - are there any spots that do good, naturally plant based Turkish in London? Most places I see are focused on kebabs and grilled meats.

I'm looking for Kuru Fasulye, Çiğ Köfte, Kısır, etc etc

cheap vegan & glutenfree meal options in London

Hey everyone!

I’m a vegan who has to eat glutenfree and while London has so much to offer on the vegan front, I often find myself struggling to find vegan options that are glutenfree and don’t cost a fortune.

Also I don’t have an allergy, just a gluten sensitivity, so thankfully cross contamination is not a problem for me.

Does anyone have any recommendations for vegan and “accidentally” gf meals in London? At chain restaurants or food markets or anything like that? :)

I have a few dedicated spots that I always return to and I’d love to broaden my options a bit.

All suggestions appreciated ☺️
