👾 Mind Uploading If it were possible and safe, would you want to upload your consciousness?
If it were possible, safe (without suffering any physical harm or organic damage), available only to you (the user who made the copy) and easily accessible to upload your consciousness to a computer system, and you could talk to it and use it like any other AI, as your personal assistant or as a living person, would you want to do it and accept uploading your consciousness?
If your answer is no, why not?
Clarification: it's a copy of you, not a transfer.

🤖 Artificial Intelligence Who can help me build this?
Hear me out.
I wanna make 2 assumptions.
Basing on humanities current technological arc, we can guess that AI is going to solve almost every single complex question that humanity is having today if enough time and resources are poured into it.
And with cloning technology already being present today we can also assume that humanity's capitalistic drive will inevitably push into existence bio-technology that is capable of doing a lot of things that we couldn't imagine ourselves being able to do before.
With that in mind, imagine a new religion where as we're alive, we prioritize living and maximize our freedom and autonomy as we focus on what fulfils us as people and when we die, we would have formed monasteries where our remains will be kept and preserved as we ( the deceased ) and the living members wait for bio-technology to develop and get perfected. Future members will then at that point in time with that tech be able to bring back past members. After they're resurrected advanced AI or super intelligence that will too exist at that moment will be able to make sense of the chaotic and deterministic lives members lived before and why we lived them.
If you consider the perfection of interplanetary travel which will make issues such as overpopulation obsolete and if we choose to look at the the future with optimism, you'd say members will have another chance to live a second life in a period in time where hunger, disease, climate change death etc would've been solved as fulfilled and enlightened individuals In a perfect utopia.
Anyone interested in helping me build this?

Biotechnica and bio-punk
So I’ve recently read the X-Men era of krakoa and I’m lowkey obsessed with how they integrate plant tech into the stories told. Like how pollen is used around an island to detect airborne intrusions, or fungi is planted in offices as listening devices. And I remember this fascination starred in cyberpunk when the radio host (the great Mike Pondsmith himself) told stories about what biotechnica was doing.
I’ve been looking into the genre and can’t find exactly what the right term is. Biopunk is more organic flesh interface with computers, like cronenburg, and this is more…..well I don’t know? What is the term for it?

[OC] "Ink and Neon" by Kyouga — Character & world-building art for an indie Cyberpunk & Sci-fi Anthology project
Artwork by Kyouga:
• Portfolio / VGen: https://vgen.co/kyouga
• X (Twitter): https://x.com/kyouga
• Instagram: https://instagram.com/kyo.koso
Master character and worldbuilding illustration commissioned for my indie cyberpunk audio drama anthology.
• Ink (Left): A weary, augmented salvage operator restoring and recovering messages and transmissions before they are erased for good.
• Neon (Right): A hardlight nanoswarm construct struggling to understand life outside her nuclear home.
Hand-drawn line art and screentones. No generative AI was used in any part of the project.

🤖 Artificial Intelligence I dreamt that the elites are experimenting on nanotechnology and bioengineering to activate their kundalini or chakras artificially because eventually the superintelligence will get stronger than them.

⚖️ Ethics/Philosphy Transhumanism Vs Antinatalism. Which is morally right?
Transhumanism - Use tech to become immune to harm, death, pain, and suffering. Perpetuate life for as long as possible. Create Tech Utopia.
Antinatalism - Use tech to end life, permanent extinction. They believe a tech Utopia is impossible, and even ONE victim of a bad life is too many.
Who is morally right?

KILL/SAVE — teaser for our indie cyberpunk film, shot in Barcelona (out in US Nov 17)
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi r/Cyberpunk, thanks to the mods for letting us share this.
KILL/SAVE is set in a quarantined megacity under total surveillance, where the only way out is the Metaverse. Martin, a programmer who never trusted any of it, has to go in after Teresa, the woman he loves, who disappeared into an immersion capsule and never came back. He finds her inside a brutal darknet game where the pain is real.
We were less interested in an AI that wants to destroy us than in one that genuinely wants to help, and in how far that help can go before it stops being help.
It’s live-action with real actors: Matt Testro, Stephanie Gil, Eric Goode, with Duane Henry and Brian Austin Green. Shot in Catalonia, Spain, with real physical fights rather than digital ones, because if the pain is real, the camera has to feel it too. VFX by our own small team.
Happy to answer anything about how we made it.

Get Jiro / Snow Crash
Recently came to me the information about this comic written by Antony Bourdain and decided on trying the animation. But what caught my attention is the amount of similarities in the premise of the story with the one told in Snow Crash.
From the name of the protagonist (Jiro / Hiro), to the stablishment of their characters (the super-competent protagonist, the references to the samurai archetype), to the setting of the world with a stateless society, in which private companies very much structured in the same way (the food mafia/ the pizza mafias that designed the frontiers).
I haven't seen anyone talking about it online and to be honest, I've never passed half the book (at the time the satire didn't get me, but it's a book I think about reading often), and I'm just now watching the first episode, so it's possible that the similarities are pretty much just these, but maybe someone here has read them both and could talk more about it.
Maybe they're both drinking from the same source?

Book Beta/Reviews
I’m looking for folks that would be willing to read a cyberpunk book I wrote and provide reviews on Amazon or Apple. I’m a first time indie author, always loved cyberpunk, and thought writing was a neat hobby to pick up. Looking for honest reviews, I hope it’s good, but if it sucks that’s ok too.
The premise of the book is it’s 100 years in the future, AI stopped nuclear war and became too dependable, the lower classes have gotten augmented to keep up with humanoids, and four people in their 20’s are trying to find meaning.
I’ll also be posting in u/betareaders and am still working out the mechanics of the share.

anyone using opensource posture tracking at home without handing data to amazon?
my pt clinic got a demo of one of those smart mirror rehab systems. the motion tracking actually helps when patients are doing their exercises wrong at home. the issue is everything goes to some third party cloud, the consent form is five pages of vague stuff, and nobody knows who ends up owning the movement data. feels like insurance companies will be buying gait datasets to deny claims before long.
spent last weekend messing around with mediapipe on a spare raspberry pi. it tracks posture okay for basic squats and shoulder work. not clinical grade but it can catch someone whose lumbar flexion starts collapsing at rep six instead of waiting for their next appointment.
the part that bothers me is how quickly people accept always-on cameras in their living room just because the device claims to help. same as the pet trackers. convenient until you look at what else gets logged.
curious if anyone runs local pose estimation for fitness or rehab and what hardware they're using. looking for something i could suggest to patients that doesn't need a corporate account or phone app to work.
