Hated Tropes (Hated)You know this cute couple we spend the last movie developing?Yeah, they broke up off-screen

John and Lori-Ted 2

Sam and Mikaela-Transformers 3

Wade and Vanessa-Deadpool and Wolverine(yeah,i know the ending implies they get back, but it just begs the question what was even the point, even Morena Baccarin Vanessa actress complained about how her character was sidelined)

These two from Jurassic World to Jurassic World 2. And they took each other's personalities in the divorce break-up

what personalities?

Lol right? But really their only traits; caring about saving dinos, and being apathetic and nihilistic

One is stuck up and another is Chris Pratt playing Chris Pratt. Pretty much they just wanted to add some tension but looking at it through a common sense point of view there’s no way Claire and Owen are compatible. Even after her redemption I don’t think they’d stay together

i've only seen the first jurassic world movie and the both of them were just two bland characters with no discerning personalities. i would say they were pretty compatible in that regard.

They do get back together to Raise the Clone

Which make it worse because what was the point of the break up.

Here a example from the JP movies : Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ellie Settler marry and raise Lex and Murphy, Alan's (?) niece and nephew → JP/// :  they are divorced

They were Dr. Hammond's grandkids but it would have been nice for Alan & Ellie to maintain some sort of family friend/aunt & uncle relationship with them after they all went through the horrors together because it's not like anyone else would be able to relate to their experiences. I would have been happy to see Alan & Ellie have biological kids but I also like less conventional family structures where couples foster or there are stepkids or they take on some role in supporting and raising kids in their family/social circle.

I always thought that the lawyer was Alan's brother and Lex and Murphy his children but thanks for the correction!

That's...that's not it at all

What? That they are divorced in JP/// ? If you mean the Lex and Murphy situation, I was already informed about that

So, in the book AND the movie, they were never a couple at all. They kinda looked like one in the first movie, but they never were a thing

Ok I already knew that Ellie was only a student to Alan and Alan was only Ellie's teacher in the novel, but they weren't a couple in the movie too???? I ABSOLUTELY missed alot

I don't think they were in the movie, no. They were definitely friendly and close, but not a package. I never got that vibe
