Hated Tropes (Hated)You know this cute couple we spend the last movie developing?Yeah, they broke up off-screen

John and Lori-Ted 2

Sam and Mikaela-Transformers 3

Wade and Vanessa-Deadpool and Wolverine(yeah,i know the ending implies they get back, but it just begs the question what was even the point, even Morena Baccarin Vanessa actress complained about how her character was sidelined)

This is probably one of the better versions of this trope, but Debbie and Paul in Invincible. Glad they did him justice, though.

in a world full of Spider-man Paul's, be an Invincible Paul

I liked this one because it showed that time still passed meaningfully while Mark was gone and they broke up like decent folk do.

Yeah, Paul's reasons were completely valid, and they remain on good terms.

Paul is a solid dude

It just feels kind of cheap because it's very obvious it's done mostly for the sake of Debbie and Nolan eventually getting back together

I don't disagree, but it also felt very "real" to me. Mark was gone for months so relationships changed and evolved in the meantime.

I really hope the show fixes it and doesn't force them back together

They werent forced together. They came together again as they naturally would

Nobody would "naturally" get back with a man who used her son as a battering ram to kill a train full of people and proceed to beat him within an inch of his life, idgaf about omni-man's "redemption", nobody would willingly get back into a relationship with him after that.

Yeah when its either people with some form of Stockholm or just genuine idiots, Debbie isn't either of those

0

u/Kgb725 3d ago

Stockholm doesnt exist and all she did was pine and cry over him shed obviously go back to him.

1

u/wearerofshades 3d ago

She cried because her husband wasn't who she thought he was, she was crying because the last 20+ years of her life ended up being a lie, idk where tf you saw her "pining" for him.

Also "Stockholm syndrome doesn't exist" are you genuinely that dumb? Just curious.

thats defniitely valid, but I think for that purpose, they did the best possible way to have done it. if that makes sense

Ugh! I'm not sure I want to continue the series now

ngl, only the episodes where things actually happen are worth watching. There's a lot of filler in recent seasons.

Yeah im not going to lie, I wish that they just stayed together. Like I just really don’t want Debbie to hook up with Nolan again but we all know its going to happen lmao

Debbie is the GOAT of Invincible, so I'll just trust her.

Paul was plotting something against Debbie though?
