Hated Tropes (Hated trope) Remember all these stories and characters we followed for so long? Welp now it’s all reset.

1: using another flashpoint to create the tomorrowverse (Justice League Dark: Apokolips war) after 80-90% of the cast is killed off and billions lives are fated to die Flash and Constantine hatch up a plan to kill baby Darkseid to prevent the entire story from happening which just leads to an entirely different universe being formed and even erasing some characters from existence.

2: Jim travelling to the beginning (Tales of Arcadia series) after multiple characters die including Toby Jim uses a magic gem to travel back to the very first episode but instead lets Toby find the amulet… this changes things how?

I think you can argue The Good Place does it pretty well

Honestly the only good example I can think of.

It works because not everything was reset, just only a small handful and even then, the creator still try new things to make every reset feel unique and even add new backstories to expand upon the characters that were reset

TBF they pulled this off so good because they would regain there memories eventually and continue like nothing happened. But this show is so great that it focused most on the conflict that surrounds the consequences or/and character reactions of them loosing their memories.

Well and it was always an integral part of the plot, rather than something shoehorned in to juice more seasons out of a dying IP.
