Hated Tropes (Hated trope) Remember all these stories and characters we followed for so long? Welp now it’s all reset.

1: using another flashpoint to create the tomorrowverse (Justice League Dark: Apokolips war) after 80-90% of the cast is killed off and billions lives are fated to die Flash and Constantine hatch up a plan to kill baby Darkseid to prevent the entire story from happening which just leads to an entirely different universe being formed and even erasing some characters from existence.

2: Jim travelling to the beginning (Tales of Arcadia series) after multiple characters die including Toby Jim uses a magic gem to travel back to the very first episode but instead lets Toby find the amulet… this changes things how?

Opened this post too early for someone to post Stone Ocean so I could correct them 😔

One of the few GOOD examples of this trope

It's just that people often misunderstand what happened in SO.

Previous parts didn't get erased, only Part 6 did and got replaced with Irene. Everything prior to part 6 did happen.

It also didn't create SBRverse, it's not connected really

Yeah, common misconception. I also like it because Fate is shown to be a real and inescapable thing (barring that one stripper boss), so having the bloodline's curse finally be lifted is cathartic. All the pain and struggle is over, fate has chosen kindness and love for this poor descendant of a gentleman. In fact iirc the only Jojo that dies is Johnathan. Everyone else "lives" through the reset, including Joseph's cheatin ass

Another major difference is that this tropes use it as a solution when stone ocean it's result of the antagonist achieving his goal.

Everything prior to part 6 did happen.

With the exception of Jotaro being a different guy...who pretty much does the same things upto Part 3

The best part about Stone Ocean is that the previous arcs don't get erased, but instead happen again and again three times in a row.

First time are the events we see in the anime up to the time acceleration. Second time is the new timeline whete everyone is aware of their fate. And the third timeline is the same as the first one, but now that there's no pucci, jotaro is able to live a safe life with his daughter. But it does make me wonder, if pucci doesn't exist in this new timeline, did Domenico ever find out he accidentally dated his sister?

If Pucci didn't exist, Domenico likely would never have been kidnapped because the risk of getting caught would be a lot higher

I'm sorry what? I thought Stone Ocean set a new timeline. I haven't read the manga, I assume it's spoilers? I'm looking forward to steel ball run anime

The ending of part 6 is a universe reset where the only change is that Pucci never existed.

Steel Ball Run is set in a totally unrelated separate universe where basically everything is different.

…it’s a little confusing.

Still, character development from the entire season is gone, and FF ceased to exist.
