Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) "Kind" slave owners

Speaking as an American who has studied the civil war all throughout my school years, this trope infuriates me to no end. There is no such thing as a kind slave master because slavery itself is cruel and inhumane. PEOPLE ARE NOT PROPERTY!

Naofumi (Shield Hero): Prime example of this trope. He enslaves multiple (underage) girls and an whole village and the fans still say he's a hero.

Rudeus (Jobless Reincarnation): As if being a pedo wasn't bad enough he had to buy a slave in season 2. Worse is that people still defend his actions.

Song of The South (Disney): Possibly the OG example of this trope. And the reason why Disney will never release it again.

After seeing all the failings of the magical government, Harry uses his position as hero of the Wizarding world to.... become a cop

Don't worry, that government that essentially bowed to Wizard Hitler the second he came back did exactly ZERO reform, so it's probably one worth enforcing state violence!

Huh? Don’t Harry and his friends get into politics specifically to enforce reform? And don’t say “oh extra material doesn’t count”, because people sure as hell love to bring up Harry as a cop despite that being extra material and not part of the epilogue.

Ah yeah a cop trying "fix the systems from inside", we definitely have seen how effective that is...

Also, Hermione finally got the power of becoming THE Minister of Magic and got to fulfill her dream of S.P.E.W. by... Slightly elevating the absolute bare minimum of life quality you can enforce on the race of creatures that live as your slaves.

Such reform! Really stuck it to all those "hey maybe DON'T prop up race-based slavery, including justifying it with literal American pre-Civil War talking points used by slave owners" critics...

It makes even more sense that he becomes a cop in the new distraction from Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson disagreeing with her horrible views I mean program as Harry now spends his entire time in school distrusting a black man purely because of his looks who was hung from a tree by Harry's father for being in love with a white woman

I still wonder who decided it was a good idea to make Snape black.

JK Rowling, probably.

You can be black and be a shit person. Maybe I’m speaking from naivety or privilege but over here for the longest time prejudice was more about class than race.

That's not the problem. Through the books, almost every year, mostly with no basis except "Snape is an asshole" Harry suspects him to be evil and the one behind that year scheme. Now, in thr new series? The white boy will suspect, with almost no reason, of the black guy. It makes Harry a racist. I don't think it is a good idea to make the protagonist, who is suposed to be a noble kid with no racial prejudices, unlike most wizards and witches, a racist.
