Hated Tropes (Hated Trope) "Kind" slave owners

Speaking as an American who has studied the civil war all throughout my school years, this trope infuriates me to no end. There is no such thing as a kind slave master because slavery itself is cruel and inhumane. PEOPLE ARE NOT PROPERTY!

Naofumi (Shield Hero): Prime example of this trope. He enslaves multiple (underage) girls and an whole village and the fans still say he's a hero.

Rudeus (Jobless Reincarnation): As if being a pedo wasn't bad enough he had to buy a slave in season 2. Worse is that people still defend his actions.

Song of The South (Disney): Possibly the OG example of this trope. And the reason why Disney will never release it again.

A man so hardcore that even a great man like Frederick Douglass gave him props for being such a strong beacon for the cause. That's high fucking praise.

"I could speak for the slave. John Brown could fight for the slave. I could live for the slave. John Brown could die for the slave."

John Brown was a true American hero, and for his trouble was the first hanged for treason. He scared the slaveholding south so much they made his death historic as a warning. But instead it literally became a rallying cry. You ever hear the song that goes “glory glory hallelujah”? The original version was the marching tune of the Union Army, and it’s called John Brown’s Body.

John Brown’s Body lies a-mouldering in the grave

John Brown’s Body lies a-mouldering in the grave

But his soul is marching on!

It takes some liberties but The Good Lord Bird was a great  miniseries about him
