Fellow people diagnosed with ADHD

I am a full time solo parent who has been diagnosed with ADHD quite late who is feeling very isolated. I seem to struggle with friendships with neurotypical people just simply because of having to mask and then eventually it becoming to hard to maintain and the friendship is lost for whatever reason and the pattern always seems to relate to either a lack of understanding or acceptance or a perceived lack of understand/acceptance. So I am wondering if there were maybe other people in Hamilton with ADHD who are potentially in the same boat that might be interested in grabbing a coffee or something sometime. I just thought maybe I might have a better chance at making friends with people that understand what ADHD can look like and have more of an acceptance of someone who is neuro diverse however that may present because they themselves are neuro diverse.

(My RSD has me absolutely terrified of making this post but im trying to implement change)

Crafty Catch Up - Saturday 17th October

🧶

10am-1pm in the Rogers Rose Garden, @hamiltongardens

🧶

Park in Gate 2, the Walkway is by the toilet block next to the playground.

🧶

Bring your transportable craft, something to sit on, and if you want, your own snacks/drinks. BE SUN SMART, its getting hot out there.

🧶

Rainy Day option is the Gardens Café, which Gate 1 is closer. If you want to come on a Café day, but can't afford to, I've got a koha for a couple of people to have coffee.

🧶

Hope to see you, e hoa!

Rototuna Town Centre zone change

Thumbnail hamilton.govt.nz
12 Upvotes

>A key change is the removal of the Rototuna Town Centre zone from the Operative District Plan (our rule book for development). It would be replaced by existing business, community facilities, and open space zones already used elsewhere in the plan.

The council is putting out a plan change document and it doesn't really say what the impact will be.

If my memory is correct the town center concept was to make a place of centralized services and was supposed to serve as a hub to the community. Now the council wants to scrap it and replace it with.....sprawl? it's says they're not trying to improve "connections" but it doesn't say how

This change notice feels like it was written by someone trying to hide something.

Fishing

Hi there, I’ve fallen in love with the mighty Waikato since I’ve moved here and I was wondering if there are any excursions, groups, societies or anything where a complete beginner could learn fishing? It seems like an activity that would really suit me so I’d like to learn. Anything in or around or close to (<3 hours away) would be grand. Thank you!

Anyone else remember this absolutely legendary Hamilton band from the '90s? I didn't realise quite how far and wide the word has spread in the last couple of decades. Can't wait for the comeback gig.
