Hemp Flower & Vapes in Houston
I’ve been looking around Houston for the best available “ENT” vapes since the recent ban, and I’ve found a couple of places selling a hemp derivative that smells more like weed than the THCA vapes I used to get. What is this? Is it just nicotine? They also had flower of it too. The head change feels similar too.

Update on DEA Marijuana Rescheduling: A Physician’s Perspective
I've been following the federal marijuana rescheduling proceedings closely, and I think it's worth discussing what these developments could mean for patients. In my own practice, I've recommended medical cannabis to some patients for symptom relief, and I've heard many report positive experiences. Those experiences are encouraging, but we still need more rigorous clinical research to understand which patients benefit most and which products are most appropriate.
This might be hot take, but marijuana isn't beneficial for everyone. I've seen situations where patients with psychotic disorders, including schizophrenia, may experience worsening symptoms, including hallucinations. THC can exacerbate psychosis in susceptible individuals, which is an important reason to approach cannabis thoughtfully, consider a patient's medical and psychiatric history, and recognize that it isn't an appropriate option for everyone.
As a physician who works with patients through Texas's Compassionate Use Program, I've spent the last several years helping patients navigate medical cannabis and understand their options within the existing legal framework.
Personally, I support broader legalization—even if it eventually means my services is no longer needed. I realize that might sound counterintuitive coming from someone who operates a medical cannabis clinic, but I believe healthcare should ultimately serve patients, not preserve a particular business model. If patients can eventually access appropriate products safely, affordably, and without unnecessary barriers, I'd consider that progress, even if it fundamentally changes the role of clinics like mine.
As of October 2026, the broader proposal to move marijuana from Schedule I to Schedule III remains unresolved. The latest development came on October 14, when the administrative law judge directed the DEA to respond to a request to reopen the hearing for limited additional testimony and discovery. The agency's response is due October 21.
For anyone following the process, it's important to distinguish rescheduling from legalization. Moving marijuana to Schedule III would be a significant federal policy change, but it would not, by itself, make marijuana federally legal for all purposes or eliminate state-level restrictions.
I also hope federal reform will make meaningful clinical research easier, improve our understanding of cannabinoids, and give us better evidence to guide patients. Cannabis isn't a one-size-fits-all treatment, and questions about dosing, formulations, drug interactions, and long-term effects deserve serious medical attention.
For now, Texas patients still need to understand the requirements of the state's Compassionate Use Program. Federal rescheduling alone would not eliminate those requirements.
I'd be interested in hearing perspectives from patients, physicians, researchers, and others following these developments.

I met with Vikki Goodwin and Clayton Tucker today, here's some thoughts... (long post)
We need to be a lot more out about our cannabis use and knowledge.
I went to the get out the vote event that they held at The Texas Greenhouse in Oak Cliff, south of Dallas today.
I got a chance to speak to both Vikki and Clayton today at length about several topics.
What I've bulleted below are the things I discussed with them both as policy points. And there's some additional points here at the top I feel need addressing if we're going to keep showing up at these events to talk to them about cannabis.
ME I think there's a genuine need to create a body of people who represent Texas and cannabis and for us to meet not as business people, but to set a common set of wants that we can cohesively take to the state legislature next year that isn't just NORML.
ME We have way too many regional areas in one state to simply assume Dallas or Austin should speak for how things are done in El Paso or Houston. San Antonio has to do whatever the Knicks say they do, and honestly that just isn't right. :)
YOU Show up to these rally events they're holding whether they're THC related or not and talk with them about cannabis, educate them on what they need to know about the legislation they're about to create. Now is not the time to be shy, they want to meet you and hear from you. Ken Paxton and Dan Patrick aren't showing up to hear from me.
YOU Are flower or concentrates important to you? Then bring them up categorically and what they mean to you as a medical patient or recreational user.
So what did I talk about? I face to face talked to Vikki Goodwin and Clayton Tucker separately for about 10 minutes each about:
How TCUP was inadequate for missing flower, concentrates, topicals and suppositories as all the categories have applicable medical use for patients.
I informed them that MSO's have no business in Texas. Multistate operators harm genetic diversity through their patented genetics and undisclosed use of unapproved pesticides. And that MSO's will promise a 2-3 year SOP plans for getting full operations running statewide, but I believe Texans can do that in the same amount of time without a corporate bribe.
I told Vikki personally that I believed Dan Paxton's long-term plan for Texas is to ban weed today to sell it out to an MSO in the next term or two and companies like Truleaf, Curaleaf and Cresco have deep pockets.
Last and most important. Medical patients need home grow rights and caregiver rights. Vikki admitted she didn't know anything about the topic. I gave her details about what I know on plant limits in other states and said 6-8 flowering plants would be a good amount compared to other states.
Oh and one more thing. Because that wasn't the craziest discussion. Clayton's stance on cannabis for medical patients is to allow home growing, caregivers and most importantly, he's completely fine with the GIFTING of cannabis between patients. That was refreshing and honestly encouraging to hear.
I encourage everyone to get out and attend these events, any events with our upcoming elected officials and get their public stance on cannabis use, cannabis sales, medical cannabis and more. They need to be educated and we need to be there for them, because the ones showing up for the current administration are just feeding them the wrong information, clearly.

This sudden “abbots not that bad, guys he’s actually on our side! He vetoed sb3” is red propaganda to get yall to not completely abandon Abbott come primaries
Even hometown hero’s newer video praises Abbott. Ugh
I keep seeing comments and discourse talking about how he vetoed SB3
Abbott is not our friend. Hemp or cannabis was not in his mind when he vetoed sb3 , the midterms were.

Confused by new law
Is the consequences for being caught the same if it’s delta 8 vs delta 9? I keep hearing it’s just one of the two variants that has really rough consequences?

Has anybody else tried Blue Lotus Flower Extract infused pens and pre-rolls?
They're amazing. Real authentic blue lotus flowers are extremely rare, so this is probably lab-made. But, the high is very good. Feels like you do at the beginning of a trip. The high can distort your eyes making it feel like there is a difference in vision. Not quite visuals from tripping.
Also, they bypass drug tests.

What happens if Paxton loses Senate race?
I don't live in TX but am interested in the weed initiatives and know Paxton has been anti-weed for awhile. However, he appears to be trailing his challenger in recent polls and can't run for AG if he loses, so curious what people in the know think about the state of weed in TX if he loses the Senate race?

Mail Ordering NSFW
Where does legality sit with mail ordering? Are people still doing this and just taking a risk, or is that still fine?
I’ve seen a number of comments recommending it, but unsure after recent changes
