This is a stickied thread for people to post about upcoming events -- community events, live performances, whatever you think others might want to know about.

A new version of this post will be put up and stickied every month to make sure that things are kept fresh, and allow people to stay up to date if they wish, or to avoid this thread if they don't. It's been moved to a monthly format to keep things simpler for people looking to plan a bit further out.

To keep the sub (and your feed) clean and free from spam, any explicit advertising conducted outside of this post will continue to be subject to removal, with a note and link to instead post here, which will stand as the exception.

In other words: please feel free to use this space to post about any upcoming Sudbury-specific events you're aware of or would like to share with others.

Discussion Looking for band members

I’m looking to start a metal/hard rock band in Sudbury. Hard to pin-point a style, but I like many bands in all styles. From classic rock bands like Rush, to thrash metal, classic European heavy metal, nu metal, 80s hair metal, grunge, newer hard rock, I enjoy listening and playing it all.

I’m a drummer currently looking for lead and rhythm guitar, bass and vocals.

Dm me or drop a comment if you’re interested.

Spotted on the road, when I approached it started to run, eventually it circled around me and went under the stairs in the picture. When I approached again it started to move towards the backyard so I left it where it was.

Very skittish so if its your cat you might need multiple people to help in order to grab it. Apologies if its an outdoor cat but I'm really hoping its not cause we just had that crazy rainfall and its gonna keep getting colder.

Help Need some direction please!

Hello!
I am in the GTA and am unable to travel right now. I have a family member in the Health Sciences North hospital in Sudbury, he was in a coma but is awake now. He is having a quiet Thanksgiving. He has a feeding tube and can’t eat, but was given the OK to have popsicles and freezies. He is having a craving for ‘’special’’ freezies, like the Dr. Pepper or cream soda flavoured ones. Store hours posted on the Internet are unreliable, and I’ve been cold calling grocery stores and pharmacies to see if they are open and have these items and could deliver to the hospital.

Could anyone direct me to what stores are open at this time so I could try to arrange this, or is someone available to complete this task for me for a fee?

Question Can anyone with a costco membership answer a question for me regarding beef prices

I like to eat beef and prices are pretty up there these days.

What are the beef prices like at costco per pound? I'm not picky on cuts just whatever is leanest typically. Would also be interested in the price of the tenderloin per pound if anyone would know. I remember they used to have the big tenderloins back in the day that people were crazy about

TIA

Side of label on mine appears heated and peeled open. You can see the residue where it used to be held and the tape appears waxy. Not the first time I’ve noticed but it’s happened enough to become suspicious. Looks just peeled enough to peak inside the box.

Question Is this turkey salvagable

Post image
37 Upvotes

We have 2 cats so we put the turkey in the oven overnight to unthaw because a few years ago we caught one cat nibbling on the raw unthawrd turkey that was left on the counter. Unfortunately when we were preheating for lunch this afternoon my mom completely forgot the turkey was in there and by the time we smelt it this is what it looked like. Is it salvagable? Willing to cut off the exposed chunk but im not sure if the air from the burning bag is toxic and how much, although we assume it is toxic. Any advice appreciated. We dont want to waste a $40 turkey.
