Menza Margo in NYC

Does anyone know if this is an actual restaurant in NYC? I've looked it up but couldn't find it, this is my last resort.

If it's not, why make up a restaurant? Does it being hungarian have any relevance?

Did anyone else notice this subtle Columbo reference in Brand New Day

As a Millennial whose guilty pleasure is watching Columbo, I can’t help but smile at how Tom Holland played out this shot. After rewatching the film and many hours of the show Columbo under my belt, it is just uncanny at how Holland pronounces and performs this shot just like how Peter Falk does his signature line in the show right before leaving any investigation room. I like to think he did that on purpose because it flows perfectly with everything in this scene (tone, characters, theme, ect.).

TL:DR Tom Holland is a smart actor, even through a mask and costume.

Remember when Watts advised Destin to not use Practical Swinging?

Now that Brand New Day is out and I would say the Honeymoon Period is done, was he right?

I just saw Spider-Man Brand New Day. THAT WAS INCREDIBLE

I love the action, Destin cooked here.

I love the music, Michael cooked here

I love the cinematography, even the mundane scenes have this style to them that the previous MCU Spider-Man films only had selectively.

I love the suit, the suit is just gorgeous. The colors are brilliant and shine in any environment. It has wrinkles and looks like an actual suit and not like it’s his skin like it did in previous films. I love the expressiveness of the eyes on his mask, it seems they've emphasized that compared to the previous films. And I love that you can see Peter's real eyes through the mask, but not too much to the point that it's distracting.

I love that Yelena was here, she was funny.

love Bruce Banner and the Hulk. Bruce inhibiting his powers like Peter was trying to do is a very interesting parallel. And I loved the scene where the Hulk has his first proper on-screen appearance since the beginning of Infinity War, it was so good to see him back. I only wish they did more with him.

I love Frank Castle, his relationship with Peter is so good and I can't believe we finally got those two together

I love what they did with Aunt May, even though she is gone what she stood for lives on through Peter. And I love how that's represented through Jean literally being comforted by a mind-construct of her. It was a great way to give her a presence in this film despite her being dead.

I love Jean Gray, I was skeptical of her inclusion at first but seeing what they did with her I can't imagine this film without her. Her telepathy really enhanced Peter's personal struggle in a cool way, especially what she did in one particular scene when she possessed MJ. I love how she parallels Peter's own struggles. Really helps tie this film and its themes together, and I love how Peter helps her showing his own growth. I can't wait to see her in that X-Men film she NEEDS to find her people.

I love how they did the MJ thing. I was worried they would reverse the spell or they would mess it up somehow but they nailed it. I loved the scene where Jean Manipulated Peter's love for MJ, love seeing the Spider-boy suffer. And I really love the scene where she finds out about the spell, and she doesn't have any attachment to Peter still even referring to her post-spell self as a different person. Really gives the ending to No Way Home some serious weight.
And I love how Peter moves on from the past and decides to let himself have a new relationship with Ned and MJ.
Peter doesn't have to completely shut himself off from them and forge new relationships, it'll never be the same as it was before but it's something.

I love that Scorpion is here, he doesn't have much but I'm just glad they tied that loose end and we got to see him in the first place because I genuinely thought that ship had sailed.

I love Peter's character arc throughout this film. Him shutting everyone and everything out except Spider- Man because of his sense of responsibility. And that makes him miserable because his mental wellbeing is deteriorating resulting in these crazy new powers. At first he believed those new powers were a bad thing to be suppressed. And he also can't let go of
the past and let himself move on because of all he
has lost.
But then at the damage control facility he accepts that he won't get back what he lost, but he'll always have the memories of what once was and that's enough for him. And he accepts himself and acknowledges that he is both Peter Parker AND Spider-Man.
It reminds me of what Dr. Strange said about Peter trying to live two different lives, and he was right but Peter took it the wrong way. Peter believed that not trying to live two different lives ment that he had to completely shut out one part of his life. But what he really had to do was to accept that Spider-Man and Peter Parker are not two different lives, they are one.
And then Peter gets super cool enhanced Spider- Powers, representing how when he fully accepts himself for who he is he is stronger than he ever was trying to suppress himself. Great stuff man, great stuff.
And I love how Peter takes what he has learned and used it to help Jean, shows how much he has grown. And when he leaves the hospital and sees all of the people he has helped and inspired. I think during his crime fighting Peter has forgotten the real reason he does it all, it’s nice that he got a reminder.

I love the ending credits, those were nice.

I am in tears, I gotta watch this like 10 more times. I love this movie

Brand new day was the best spiderman movie yet

I’ve been reading marvel comics since I was a kid in the mid 80’s. They have such a nostalgic place in my heart.

I remember when the first spiderman movies came out, and I was so excited to see it in live action. And ultimately was pretty satisfied with it.

And then came the MCU version, and was as well, but was like ā€œokay let’s see where this goesā€

That said, brand new day was amazing and I think truly captures that spiderman feel, a bunch of villains in the beginning, life’s journey, the actual hulk, punisher, yada yada. Minus maybe the silly jokes and wise cracks, but it feels like that progression is happening. Hoping they can somehow eventually pull venom and carnage back from the absolute trash that it’s become but if not that’s okay too.

And best of all. I think they finally did Jean Gray (who in the comics is my favorite x-men by far) some justice. Those Sony X-men movies were such trash. And here they showed her not only as the up and coming ultra powerful mutant, but more of a person with depth too, rather than what felt like the generic campy hot woman super hero in those movies. Sadie did a great job. And I’m excited for what they do with the rest of the X-men now. I hope build it out for awhile before going all phoenix again with her though.

Deadpool and Wolverine had me, skeptical… lol..

Hadnt watched it until now, and any way, just thought I’d chime in.

Here is the unreleased version of the Spider-Man Theme from Brand New Day

Michael Giacchino altered the MCU Spider-Man motif in BND to intentionally sound incomplete, a representation of Peter's predicament in the film. While thematically genius, it still left me craving for the theme in its full heroic glory.

In theaters, I noticed that a version of the full theme did play during the credits but wasn't released officially on the album. Well now that the film is out on digital I finally managed to hear it properly. Hopefully Giacchino expands on it more in the sequel
