If i could be devils advocate, if you asked 100 people on the street basic geography, you'd find 80 people who dont know basic geopraphy. 33% of the US didnt even bother to vote for president in moments of national crisis. Thats a 1/3 of a voting populace that doesnt care about anything outside what they are doing today. I do not require Metallica to have an opinion, but I do require them to shut the hell up when people are having an honest discussion, their 2 cents was a tasteless jab at pretendi g to be neutral in times where neutrality is killing people.
And the average redditor doesn't know basic geography. I've seen too many to count post on reddit claiming they didn't vote because "both candidates suck" and have hundreds of upvotes..
If you picked 100 active reddit accounts at random they wouldn't care either. Redditors with an opinion here clicked on and posted in this thread specifically because they do have an opinion.

Ask 100 people on the street what they think about Metallica’s stance, then compare those to Reddit comments.
