15 year old me would never believe the band who cooked up those first four albums would be playing a fucking casino gig. Of course, I also believed that they'd never make a music video, and they were all about the fans and cool with bootlegging and tape trading.
Oh, I'm sure the casino must have paid them a ton of money. They haven't played in Connecticut in 28 years. It's the Sun's anniversary and they've been trying to get a lot of big acts in this year. I wouldn't be surprised if it's a flat fee being paid and the casino is losing money on ticket sales even at the high price. Last time they were in New England it was at Gillette Stadium which holds 65,000. The Sun's arena holds like 10,000.
Yeah, MoSun arena is tiny compared to the stadiums - it's like a private gig for these guys. Hell, the Hartford Civic Center (I saw them there in 89 and 92) holds more than that.
So he doesn’t want to preach politics but also cannot help himself from preaching politics? Saying “I’m apolitical” is an inherently political stance. If you want to actually be apolitical, you’d say “hey everyone let’s play some tunes ya hoo!” Or something to that affect. Saying “ugh these political entertainers amirite” is political.

Yeah, but they’re still selling out stadiums. Not sure what your point is. There are lots of liberal boomers.
