Here’s an idea then dont say anything?

Publicly announcing you’re not taking a stance is a stance.

His statement is obviously a dig on people like Macklemore who says political stuff during shows.  So this is not a neutral position

The amount of people who don't understand this idea is depressing.

Actively making a point of being "non political" by snidely interrupting your show to say as much is a political statement because of the very obvious subtext of the moment.

If they were really all about the music and staying perfectly neutral they wouldn't have said shit.

Taking a stance - political

Not taking a stance - silence is violence

Publicly stating you're not taking a stance -also political (apparently)

You cannot win with you people. You'll never be happy until every single public figure passes your every tighter purity test. No wonder you keep losing

Taking a stance - that’s good, being against genocide is a low bar
Not taking a stance - no one gives a fuck
Publicly stating you’re not taking a stance - no one gives a fuck + shut up

Hope this helps :)

Everything is political.

If you’re not speaking up at every work function and social event / hang out, your silence is complicity.

Do you need help building that strawman?

It's not a strawman. You don't like the example because it forces you to respond and say that there's a time and a place for everything and you WOULD not do what I suggested.

Right? No one would because most people recognize that fact.

But yet, when someone is doing their job, like a musician, you feel that they have to adhere to rules that you yourself refuse to adhere to.

Almost like this whole thing isn't real for you, it's just your virtue signal crusade to make yourself feel like you have some kind of power while not actually doing anything of consequence.

Weird hobby, bro.

Yeah this was 100% a dig at Macklemore and Hayley Williams and the like. Actually “staying neutral” would have been moving on to the next song and not making that dumb ass “we don’t make political statements like others do” speech lol.

100% a right-wing stance.
