Celebrity worship is pretty ubiquitous on reddit. Theres people in this thread saying "Metallica sold out" lol is it 1991?
I honestly dont get it but I also file this under people memorizing football players names from 1972 or wanting to know a porn stars name. Or crying when a celebrity dies. They dont know you or care about you.
I absolutely do not get crying over the death of a celebrity as if they knew the person. Sometimes I do wonder how many people are just making that shit up for attention/likes/upvotes or whatever. Like did you really bawl for days when Robin Williams died? If so, what is wrong with you?

Why would I care who some entertainer votes for???? They don't live in the real world, they live a fantasy world and have no idea about real problems.
