Reddit always uses the most hyperbolic language as long as they disagree with you.

Wasn't just a girl taking a picture with paintings it was " aN iNFluEnCeR tAkiNg a pHotO SHoOt"

115

u/Joshkendig Aug 30 '26

And that was an asshole photo bombing a person who wanted to take a picture fuck that person.

93

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

Yeah the only person who sucks here is that rude ass lady blocking the picture. A normal human tries to get out of the way of someone taking a picture, not walk between them and the camera and intentionally stop.

6

u/jaxxon Aug 30 '26

Look.. I’m a creative type, myself, and an appreciator of fine art. You can tell that rude lady IDENTIFIES as a holier-than-thou artist type. It’s a toxic mashup of artist and gatekeeper. You can see the permanent scowl on her miserable face. You can tell she is gate keeping what she thinks is some kind of high quality experience. Thinking to herself “these fucking tourists… getting in the way of a pleasant art experience!!” while she, herself, is just a visitor to the museum in her loud clothes and bad vibes.

Live and let live, lady!!

-1

u/Diplomold Aug 30 '26

Not everyone wants to be filmed at every random place they go to. Whether it's a museum, gym, restaurant, I don't want to be filmed.

The younger girl set up her camera across two walkways. So everyone should stop and wait for this woman to play model? And why does she need to take up so much room for this photo? I'm just saying that what she is doing is obtrusive to others. though petty, I kind of understand why the chick ruined the shot.

11

u/Tippydaug Aug 30 '26

She doesn't want to be filmed so she... stands in front of the camera for way longer until other people show up to intentionally block the girl from getting a photo/video alone with the paintings?

There was just the girl and the old lady there at the start. The old lady stared leaving so the girl set up the shot only for the old lady to block it. That's scummy behavior no matter how you look at it.

14

u/Elderofmagic Aug 30 '26

Passing through is one thing, stopping halfway down the stairs to stand directly in the way is something else entirely

-3

u/KristySueWho Aug 31 '26

The lady clearly had no intention of blocking anything as she noticed the phone, but not the girl. If she'd ever looked back to make sure she was blocking the girl, that would be one thing, but she didn't. She probably just thought someone set there phone down for some reason and forgot it.

2

u/EloquentBaboon Aug 31 '26

Entirely possible, but that narrative doesn't fuel the dramatic interpretation we crave, apparently.

6

u/paradoxxxicall Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 30 '26

She’s trying to take one photo of herself at a cool place? Have you ever traveled? People take photos of themselves and they of course let everyone else pass.

She’s just going to take a frame of this when the walkways are clear, and keep it for herself.

2

u/Unusual-Willow-5715 Aug 30 '26

Fortunaly the amount of time of this video and the phone being stable, will allow her to easily create a clean plate and just take the frame she likes the best of her, for the photo.

6

u/NeckAssMonky Aug 30 '26

Not everyone wants to be filmed and I can totally understand that but you’re also in a public place. Whether she’s playing model or simply wants to have a photo of themselves (which seems like is the end of the world for some people), she can very well do that. Yes others can block her but damn, some common courtesy can go the other way. If I was walking and saw I was gonna cross her path, I would politely wait and let her take her photo and go about my day.

In no way is this obtrusive as long as people are quick and not prolonging the time it takes. We all signed up for it when we enter the public domain. You do as well whether you like it or not.

Tl;dr: you’re in public, you can take photos of anything and anyone anytime and what she did was not obtrusive. Cry about it.

7

u/Elderofmagic Aug 30 '26

If you don't want to be filmed, why stand directly in the line of the filming?

0

u/Flabalanche Aug 30 '26

Tl;dr: you’re in public, you can take photos of anything and anyone anytime and what she did was not obtrusive. Cry about it.

I mean, you're not wrong, but if this is the stance you take, it's kinda harder for me to listen to you demand common courtesy.

What "no privacy in public" functionally means has changed a shitload in the past even 10 years. Flock is just taking pictures of you in public, is that fine? There has to be some middleground that doesn't forbid random pictures because of passers by, and consenting to be filmed literally 24/7

2

u/Tippydaug Aug 30 '26

May I ask who in this thread is talking about flock cameras being okay?

That's an insane jump from "taking a photo of yourself in public is fine and people blocking your camera is rude" to "I think it's fine to be monitored by big brother 24/7"...??

1

u/NeckAssMonky Aug 30 '26

Public domain really has not changed at all. I have to study these laws all the time as I am a photographer. Flock isn’t just recording, it’s literally logging data on everything about you. That’s a problem because to me at least, it’s no different than if I was stalking you, in public, which is bad. But big brother can make the rules.

I have been yelled at by people who walked into my shots that have nothing to do with them because of mentalities such as the person I replied to and it’s ridiculous. Anyone reading this should really take the time and understand how public domain works because the moment you walk out your front door, you’re in it.

3

u/Much_Vehicle20 Aug 30 '26

Bruh, you literally have no expectation of privacy in a public place. I can whip out my phone and snap a picture on the street at any given moment, and if you somehow happen to be in the frame? Lmao, lol even. Any normal adult in this scenario would just walk past and continue with their day. The stairs are nearly empty, and the girl isn’t blocking anyone, so there’s literally no reason to go out of your way to be an asshole to some random ass girl who did nothing to you

2

u/BravesWinMetsSuck Aug 30 '26

you literally have no expectation of privacy in a public place

there’s literally no reason to go out of your way to be an asshole

You can't in good faith argue both these points at the same time.

1

u/Much_Vehicle20 Aug 31 '26

Im in good faith, i dont think a simple picture equal "to be an asshole"

1

u/BravesWinMetsSuck Aug 31 '26

Maybe not, but the absolutist stance that there should be no expectation of privacy is tautologically advocating for assholish behavior. You cannot allow or encourage people to intrude on others and record and publish what they are doing, and then appeal to a sense of decency with the next breath.

2

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

Have you never been in a public place or event where people are taking pictures of themselves? Respectful people with manners walk around and avoid going right through the line of camera and subject. This girl would have been done before the crowd came through if not for the rude old lady blocking her. You can see the one woman who goes up the stairs stops notices she's posing and waits for her to finish.

Really I think lady stopping in the middle of the stairs to look at her phone is a way bigger problem.

2

u/KristySueWho Aug 31 '26

I have, but I've never seen someone put their phone/camera so far away from where they are going to be taking a picture of themselves.

Watching the lady, she has no idea the girl put her phone there, and has no idea the phone is recording. She literally just glanced at the phone, did a double take because she noticed something that you wouldn't expect to be there, then continued what she was doing. Just like the girl. Neither actually did anything wrong. People are allowed to take pictures of themselves and film themselves in public places. And people are allowed to not realize they are in someone's way filming themselves when they're no where near their phone/camera.

-3

u/Useful-Advantage-850 Aug 30 '26

Sorry, the world is not your social media studio.

18

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

people have been taking pictures in public places since before social media existed

6

u/Bird2525 Aug 30 '26

Remember when you would ask a stranger to take a picture of your group with your camera? And they would? Shocking 😳

3

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

I wonder if the lady would have yelled at her for being a narcissistic influencer had she asked her to take the picture for her.

1

u/Bird2525 Aug 31 '26

Probably would have stolen her camera. Then posted, this is what happens to narcissistic influencers. 😉

1

u/Useful-Advantage-850 Aug 30 '26

Of course they have. But before social media existed, no one thought they owned the public space enough they'd get mad when someone was also using that public space.

2

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

Like the old woman being irritated the girls trying to take a picture so she tried to ruin it. Before social media people would step out of the way when they saw someone taking a picture in public, now they think they're being inconvenienced by an influencer and it's a big deal.

-2

u/Useful-Advantage-850 Aug 30 '26

She didn’t ruin her picture. She moved out of the way like 3 seconds later. She just appropriately reminded the influencer the world doesn’t belong to her.

1

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

And now the influencer reminded this woman the world doesn't belong to her either by posting her rude behavior on the internet. If it's self centered to take a picture in public then it's equally as self centered to think you can block someone taking a picture in public and both sides are justified.

-5

u/EA0099 Aug 30 '26

Now its multiplied by 100, so yeah somebody gotta take the fall.

12

u/SaltyNeuron Aug 30 '26

Do you even hear yourself?

That's no evidence this girl did anything wrong but you're just dog piling her to get your weird grievance out?

1

u/KristySueWho Aug 31 '26

There's no evidence the woman actually did anything wrong either. We can't expect her to be paying attention to what the girl is doing. If we saw her watch the girl set her phone/camera up, then walk up the stairs and then pose, and then moved to make sure she blocked her that would be one thing. But none of that even kind of happened.

1

u/SaltyNeuron Aug 31 '26

She's literally on video double taking into the camera lens and adjusting to make sure she blocks it.

You're unhinged.

1

u/Useful-Advantage-850 Aug 31 '26

She paused like 3 seconds and then moved on.

One of us is unhinged. You just haven’t correctly identified who yet.

-9

u/EA0099 Aug 30 '26

there's no evidence that lady did something 🤦‍♂️ wrong somebody in this thread already explained why go check it out and afterwards see your doctor please, humble request.

3

u/No-wait-theres-more Aug 30 '26

You sound schizo

3

u/Elderofmagic Aug 30 '26

Intentionally standing in the way of someone is visible here. That is absolutely the older woman's intent

-2

u/EA0099 Aug 30 '26

Nah the timing tells a different story gng.

Observe more please humble request from my side.

-3

u/downsideup9494 Aug 30 '26

Who says she was intentionally blocking the photo. Looks like she just stopped to use her phone. I doubt she was even aware of the girl behind her.

And the girl is obviously in a public place full of people walking up and down the stairs. Yet she expects everyone to stop what they're doing so she can get her picture taken.

So sick of these entitled attention seekers.

7

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

The eye contact with the phone and then backing up to block it kind of suggests it was intentional.

Plus who the fuck stops walking in the middle of a staircase to look at their phone? Especially if its full of people? That's not just rude it's dangerous.

-2

u/Adventurous-Meat8067 Aug 30 '26

How is setting up a camera and posing in the middle of a walkway not rude?

3

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

Would it be rude if it was a person holding a camera? Or if she asked the woman to take her picture instead?

She wasn't in anyone's way she went to stand up by the picture, the camera was clearly set up off to the side, and if not for the woman stopping she would have been finished before anyone else came through. Although having to stop walking for a second for someone to take a picture in front of something has never ruined my day.

2

u/Adventurous-Meat8067 Aug 30 '26

Obviously she WAS in someone’s way

2

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

She was in the way of the women spending her museum time staring at her phone in her hands on the middle of the stairs? She could literally do that anywhere else.

-2

u/downsideup9494 Aug 30 '26

GenZers do it all the time.

5

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

Yeah so if this was a video of the girl stopped in the middle of the stairs fiddling on her phone and blocking the old lady having her picture taken by a friend what do you think the reaction would be?

It's a weird social phenomena to hate young people just for existing as themselves in public. Boomers did it to millenials so now I guess gen X and millenials are trying to do it to gen Z. I personally find it unnecessary to hate on people just because.

1

u/downsideup9494 Aug 30 '26

How did you come up with this take when I simply pointed out that GenZers stop to look at and use their phones in public places, oblivious of their surroundings, all the time? In other words, the fact that the woman on the stairs is a senior has nothing to do with her stopping to use her phone- it's a common behavior. There was nothing "hating on people" about my comment.

While the majority of the comments here are clearly hating on seniors, calling the woman, who they know nothing about, and "old hag" and "bitter old cunt".

2

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

I don't understand your take. Because Gen Z stops on stairs to look at their phones all the time it's okay that this Boomer did it?

Either way I wasn't arguing or disagreeing just making a point based on the overall subject of the thread. If the ages of people were reversed most people would still be upset with the younger girl.

2

u/downsideup9494 Aug 30 '26

My point was that people of many ages stop to look at and use their phones when in public places, not paying attention to their surroundings or whether they are blocking other people. I didn't say it was okay behavior, did I?

Sorry such simple things are so hard for you to understand.

6

u/No-wait-theres-more Aug 30 '26

You sound like you really hate your life. She did not expect anything. She did not ask anyone anything. Taking a picture of yourself in public is fairly normal if you have touched grass in the last month

0

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

I'm curious would it have been more appropriate for her to approach the woman and ask her to take the picture of her?

0

u/Saltyserpent Aug 30 '26

All fun and games until home girl complains that she was put online without her permission and is suddenly somehow the victim. We know how entitled old people are, she’ll claim this is a violation of privacy or something. It sucks that people’s lives are so pathetically sad that they have to try to bring others into that pit of despair.

0

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

If fear of ridicule on social media is what finally gets people to stop being rude assholes in public that would be wonderful. It's always the people behaving like jackasses crying that people shouldn't be allowed to record them. Actions meet consequences.

2

u/ICallNoAnswer Aug 30 '26

I think it’s just as often the rude assholes doing the recording and posting.

0

u/Important_Contact588 Aug 30 '26

Isn’t it amazing that it’s on video for a photo?

3

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

People can screenshot photos from videos instead of setting the timer like its 1998. Are you new to technology?

1

u/domesystem Sep 02 '26

Only way to get passable photos from my kid. 😂

1

u/Important_Contact588 Aug 30 '26

They can also remote snap and there photoshop. Occam’s razor. Set up like an influencer. Hell yeah I’ll stand in front of that crap.

1

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26

Genuinely curious. Would you stand in front of someone trying to take a picture of their kid in front of the picture? Or if it was a family? What if her husband or boyfriend was taking the picture? Would you stand in front of him and risk the confrontation of being called rude to your face?

Who is and isn't allowed to take a picture in public and what is the proper protocol for doing so in your opinion?

1

u/Important_Contact588 Aug 30 '26

I never not stand in front of someone not trying to make money with a video. I’ll always mess with influencers if I can. Vile group the are. The rest, just fine.

2

u/sierramist1011 Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 30 '26

How can you tell the difference? And what if they have a legit photographer? You never not do it...are you sprinting across the beach if you see someone taking pictures with the sunset. You sound like... an interesting person who thrives off of trying to make other people as unhappy as you. What a way to live life.

1

u/Important_Contact588 Aug 31 '26

If they are setting up a phone and walking away, like here, it’s pretty obvious. But you know, if you are actually taking a picture, you say “excuse me, do you mind?” If you aren’t, you make this for clicks. The problem with influencers is that the amount of u happy they produce in creation and addiction. Worth it. It’s really a civic duty

3

u/Au_tentico Aug 30 '26

When you travel to tourist destinations there will be a lot of people and its very common that taking pictures get a little hard because there is so much people minding their own business.

This is an old lady, looking at her cellphone, moving to let other people pass through the stairs.

6

u/purplelilac701 Aug 30 '26

I think you need to learn to read the room better: the older woman was intentionally and deliberately blocking the other one’s photo shoot. It was a photo shoot and she didn’t like it.

1

u/Au_tentico Aug 30 '26

Nah man. People is not that into you.

If you are in a touristic site and want to take a picture in the middle of an area where people is going to pass a lot, like idk, stairs for example, this is going to happen. All the time.

People is minding their business.

13

u/GirlScoutSniper Aug 30 '26

She looks straight at the camera.

-2

u/Au_tentico Aug 30 '26

So?

1

u/Ill_Technician3936 Aug 30 '26

Instead of continuing to walk and be out frame?

8

u/OnlyInAmerica01 Aug 30 '26

Half-way down the stairs? Looking to the camera? She's smart enough to smart-phone, aware enough to see other people coming without looking up, but utterly oblivious to the camera/tripod thingie that the other person is trying to use?

There's naive, there's gullible, then there's just plain you.

-2

u/Au_tentico Aug 30 '26

Idk man. If I was that situation I'd not get mad, because I know how hard it is.

To me the old lady is just minding her own Business. Oh there's a phone there? Ok I'm passing through like the rest of the people. She moved to let others pass. Then keep her way.

I really don't see the intention

1

u/OnlyInAmerica01 Aug 30 '26

0

u/Au_tentico Aug 30 '26

Did you use IA for this?

Idk man. She's taking pictures in a public crowded space. In the stairs.

That lady is like 75. She stoped right in front of the camera looked at the camera (confused I think), checks her phone, let other people walk throu the stairs, and then she went on her way.

Even if I noticed there's a phone on the wall, not necessarily means she understands.

I onced traveled alone, put my phone on a place to take a selfie, like the girl in the video, and an old lady saw my phone, got confused and then kept her way. In some other place in the same situation another lady copied me putting her phone somewhere to make a salefie in some place. She didn't know about it.

Let's be more kind with our old ones.

17

Waiting for it to be capitalisms fault.

I mean, she was trying to take up a MASSIVE amount of public space just so she could look cute on Instagram.

7

u/Late-File3375 Aug 30 '26

But they waited for the older woman to pass and there was no one else nearby. Who cares?

-3

u/b-monster666 Aug 30 '26

Typical Z/Alpha response.

2

u/Late-File3375 Aug 30 '26

LOL. I suspect I am about the same age as the older woman in the video. She was being an ass.

-1

u/b-monster666 Aug 30 '26

Apparently this landing is where the lady stopped to fiddle with her phone. There's also a definite chance that the lady didn't intentionally block Stacey's glamour shots

Would also like to see what the young woman's socials has to say about this incident, and how many glamour shoots does she have?

5

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 Aug 30 '26

And she was about to have the massive amount of space to herself without having to bother anyone. So seems like its all fine to me. She wasnt in anyone's way. She didnt ask people to move. She just set it up and went to got get in place. Thats it.

-3

u/b-monster666 Aug 30 '26

How comfortable do you feel walking in someone's shot? And no, she didn't get all pissy about people not moving...except, she did by posting this online and shaming people for not letting her have her way.

She was in the way of everyone trying to go up and down those stairs.

6

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 Aug 30 '26

I dont feel uncomfortable if it was an accident. I just move out of the way if it happens. Its really that simpme.

And she literally wasnt in anyone ways. There was 1 other person. And she was able to get to the stairs and then she was the person getting in everyone elses way by standing on the stairs.

Yall hating your lives doesnt mean bully others who dont.

-1

u/b-monster666 Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 30 '26

I count 4 people going up and down stairs during the time she was trying to be MC.

Awesome how cowards just block when they know they were wrong.

Just one photo? Lordy, you have MC syndrome too don't you?

6

u/Prestigious-Emu-8734 Aug 30 '26

So after she got it set up and after she could have had the photo

Thanks for proving the point

5

u/SaltyNeuron Aug 30 '26

"massive" y'all are deranged I swear

-2

u/b-monster666 Aug 30 '26

Sweetie, she's got her camera setup 1/2 way down the main flight of stairs and is standing at the far end of the hall. Taking up about 90% of the public space.

7

u/Hungry-Pick7512 Aug 30 '26

That was momentarily empty dumbass.

And stop being cute calling people ‘sweetie’.

-1

u/b-monster666 Aug 30 '26

Ok, princess. And, no it was not momentarily empty. There were several people wanting to go up and down stairs and "getting in her way".

1

u/mahrog123 Aug 30 '26

I had this same experience with a TikTok slave.
In Chapultapec Castle in Mexico City. There’s all kinds of gorgeous staircases backed by beautiful stained glass. This goofball was flouncing all over the place, laying on the stairs and setting up her camera in different spots. People just ignored her and walked right through her glamour shots.

1

u/Daddysu Aug 30 '26

Shut up, Jan.

-1

u/CodnmeDuchess Aug 30 '26

Also, who cares about influencers etc anyway? Half the people in this thread never go outside, they’re just resentful of people being joyful

-1

u/PandaCultural8311 Aug 30 '26

The older woman here certainly has more context. Maybe the younger girl has been doing this in other galleries. Maybe she was rude to some others. Maybe moving around a tripod on stairwells. Certainly the younger woman could have asked the older woman, "Would you mind taking my photo here?"

People cheer when some woman gets in front of a woman dancing in the aisle of Target. This may not be different.

4

u/SaltyNeuron Aug 30 '26

You realize you are just inventing scenarios in your head right?

There is nothing in this video that Indicates ANY of that. Why not assume less instead of justifying a fake outrage you have no evidence of?

1

u/PandaCultural8311 Aug 30 '26

Well, you completely missed my point.

Here's the thing... I don't know.

I even put the word "may" in italics.

I even said that the person that wouls know is the older woman.

And perhaps that's why she acted as she did.

I'm the one just saying, "we don't know what's going on"

1

u/SaltyNeuron Aug 30 '26 edited Aug 30 '26

I didn't miss your point. You don't know.

So why conclude something you have no reason to believe?

" She probably deserved it"

Edit: to add, what you DO know is some girl is just taking a random video. And this lady, for no identifiable reason blocked her.

See how my beliefs about the situation scale with the evidence of what is on video?

0

u/PandaCultural8311 Aug 30 '26

My point was that I don't know! And that people were making judgements that don't know either... I'm not sure why you believe that I did. I was very clear with "maybe" over and over, just to point out reasons that the older woman may have acted that others aren't even considering.

And why would you reply to my comment with quotes that clearly aren't referencing anything I wrote?

1

u/SaltyNeuron Aug 30 '26

You are relying on motivated reasoning by inventing hypothetical backstories to defend a predetermined conclusion.

It is also special pleading because you grant one person the benefit of imagined, unobserved context while denying that same fairness to the other person, treating identical standards of evidence unequally.

Hope that helps

0

u/SouthSilly Aug 30 '26

I dont give a shit either way, but the woman blocking the camera was clearly irritated by something, so there's actually more evidence of this girl being annoying than not 🤷‍♂️

Saying she did nothing wrong is also making up scenarios in your head.

1

u/SaltyNeuron Aug 30 '26

If you see me beat my kid. Is that evidence that my kid deserves it?

If you see me stealing, is that evidence I'm doing it to feed my sick cousin?

If you have a random consequence, it's not evidence of anything specific thing I can dream of.

What kind of reasoning is this?

0
