Wow how do you mess it up this badly! "I'll be back!"

I watch robocop at least once a year but I’m wondering if there’s an annual tradition that might make sense. I do gremlins at Christmas. Too many to mention during October. Of course groundhogs day in February and major league during spring training. But robocop is special enough to me I’d like to give it its time. Any ideas would be appreciated

I saved some money by mounting it on an acrylic rifle wall mount

Out of the many MANY times I've seen and loved this movie since I was little, I've never noticed this before; after Robo kills ED-209 with the Cobra Canon, it's JAMMED

Out of curiosity, did anyone else grow up having a bit of a childhood crush on RoboCop? Or perhaps find themselves strangely captivated by him in ways they couldn't quite explain at the time?

I'm curious whether he was simply an iconic childhood hero for most people, or whether others also found something particularly attractive about his imposing physique, commanding presence, and the man beneath the armor.

Interestingly, the RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop documentary revealed that his design was partly inspired by Hajime Sorayama's Sexy Robot illustrations. The filmmakers actually wanted RoboCop to look sleek and sexy, suggesting that his physical appeal was quite deliberate. I can't help wondering whether that design philosophy played a part in why some find him so captivating.

Was anyone else similarly fascinated by RoboCop growing up, only to realize years later that it might have been more than ordinary admiration?

Good? Bad? Misunderstood? Over-Rated? Under-Rated? What are your thoughts?

The original RoboCop's exposed face makes sense because it's implied to be a synthetic recreation honoring Murphy, with machinery underneath. It gives the cyborg a familiar, human appearance without necessarily compromising protection. In the 2014 remake, that's actual organic tissue exposed to gunfire. Why would you build the ultimate law enforcement/combat cyborg and not give him a full helmet?

holds the record for number of squibs used too. the actor refused to shoot it a second time, they hurt 💥

Hey all

as a fan of both Escape from New York and Robocop I wondered if anyone has ever seen this scene in Robocop and said Hey is that....?

have a look at the screen caps from both films below and tell me what you think

Did they hide a cheeky nod to Snake in that scene? If so he has really let himself go.

Clarence informs RocoCop that he works for the legendary Dick Jones of OCP.

So the joke with the ED-209 in the original is that it's a piece of shit and unqualified for urban pacification. It's intended to be a flashy and expensive piece of shit made to double dip by selling a faulty model and then selling upgrades and spare parts. However, with the real world rise of drone warfare, how would you like to see that affect the ED-209? Particularly in terms of ethics and lethality.
