Someone is leaving bags of dog poop at the South Valley’s park

Yesterday I decided to take a walk and decided to cut through the park. As I’m walking I’m come across over 25 bags of dog poop that have been intentionally placed. I’m not sure how long this person has been doing this, but someone made a sign shaming them, so it’s probably been a while. Each bag I walked by made me more angry. I don’t understand what goal this person is trying to achieve.

I personally like my parks clean and free of litter. It’s very sad to see that a member of our community doesn’t.

I reported this to the city of Reno and thought I would also share it here.

Please pick up after yourselves and your pets! Keep our community clean!!

Edit: I want to clarify I picked it up. Not gonna leave dog poop for everyone to look at.

Baggin’ for Apples is coming up: all-ages Halloween volunteer night at the Food Bank, Oct 29 🎃

Baggin’ for Apples is around the corner! 🎃 It’s Thursday, October 29 from 5:30 to 8 PM at the Food Bank (550 Italy Drive in Sparks, just off USA Parkway). Volunteers of every age are welcome, so it’s a good one to bring the kids to.

Costumes are encouraged, and there will be Halloween games, crafts, face painting, and a light dinner. Spots tend to go quickly, so you can register here: https://www.fbnn.org/event/baggin-for-apples/

Oh Gold n Silver….

I went there today for the first time since it’s been remodeled.
Food was, well, bland.
Partner’s burger was pretty looking but he said he didn’t think it had any seasoning on it.

I had the green chili pork eggs Benedict. Super bland.

Decor was bland.

Guess it’s all been sanitized and gentrified.

Meh.

Not looking for a steep trail or a stairwell, but just a really long flight of stairs. Do we have anything like this?

Politics Center for Voter Information mailers..

Has anyone else gotten these in the mail? Anyone know who is behind this operation funding wise? Or how terribly incorrect the data they are using is?

I’ve voted in every primary and regular midterm and presidential cycle since I’ve lived in NV. I’ve also ballot tracked when I did drop mine at a voting location a few times with normal results (SOS saying my stuff was received).

And yet I’ve gotten 3 mailers now from this CFVI saying I need to vote because I wasn’t and then listed all the previous elections I’d voted in. Not sure if their data scraping from voting records is busted or what? But this could cause some people to panic, to me it’s just becoming very annoying.

Dog groomer recommendations? 🐾

Hi everyone! I’d really appreciate any recommendations for good dog groomers in the Reno area. I have a Pomeranian who needs grooming ASAP, and I want to find someone who has experience grooming Poms specifically.
I’d love to hear about your experiences and any groomers you trust. Thank you! 😊

Papa Murphy’s

Anyone know why all of the sparks locations are closed? Went to 2 separate locations near me with no luck.

-Side note-
Before you come for me, it’s cheap and not nearly as bad quality wise as some of the other pizza places near me.

Edit: Seems my circle of peeps just doesn’t know that papa Murphy’s slaps.

If you have ever needed to see a medical specialist in Reno, how hard was it to get in?

Doesn't matter what medical group. Did insurance matter? Meaning did you get denied the referral because you were self pay? Or because insurance wouldn't pay. Or your PCP refused to refer? Did you end up going out of state seeking care?

Specialists could include rheumatology, neurology, endocrinology etc? And once you saw the specialist was it a let down? Were they thorough or were you left frustrated?

I'm seeing a scary side to medicine here. First hand experience with mental health care for a family member was bad enough. Now I'm in pure shock at how badly things are handled for medical conditions, diseases and more. But maybe it's just me - maybe others get fast tracked and have no problem.

J Resort

I bought tickets for the Neon Nites concert last year. The show ended up being rescheduled and then cancelled. I never received a refund. I have called and emailed multiple times with no answer. I even went to J Resort and spoke with one of the hotel managers there. Did anyone else buy tickets to this show? Did you ever get a refund?

Looking for cheap square stock and flat bar for blacksmithing, can be quite small cut offs due to the nature of the trade, where’s the cheapest place in Reno? Open to new metal or junkyard type stuff.

With the governor giving the okay to buy red dye diesel for on road usage. I’m wondering if there is anywhere you can actually purchase it without a fleet account in town?

Comic Books.

Ive recently inherited a small comic book collection, in the neighborhood of 20 books. Most are from the 1970s I helieve. Dad always told me they were extremely valuable. I'm looking for recimmendations of a place in town I can take them to be evaluated and potentially sold. Also any other resources, like online forums or anything like that. Thanks in advance for the suggestions.
