You may want to take measures to secure the, someone stole two vintage halloween blow molds off our porch in Northside :( I have hired an Etsy witch to curse whoever did this. Hoping they're returned to their rightful home soon.

My roommate and I are currently fostering this sweet girl, and we’d love to find her a loving forever home!

Star is about 9-10 months old and is such a friendly, affectionate kitty. She loves being around people, playing, and getting lots of attention. She’s even leash trained, so she’d be a fun little adventure buddy!

She would do best as the ONLY cat in the home, as she absolutely loves people but doesn’t get along with other cats.

DawnStar Video Games and 1115 Mobile Kitchen are bringing back Texas Beach Pro Skater on Halloween at Texas Beach DIY Skatepark!

There will be prizes for tricks, a Tony Hawk Pro Skater Tournament, and from 10-12 before the event there will be a free skate lesson from RVA Skate School!

All ages and skill levels are welcome!

Food from 1115 Mobile Kitchen, Prizes from Venue Skateboards and Letter Store, and the Red Bull DJ Tank will be handling the tunes and handing out cans!

Not my first rodeo with DPU. Earlier this year created a new online account after our account numbers changed. Last two months when I try to log into my account it just resets me back to the home page. The new system doesn’t have the bill attached to the email reminders, and they dropped my paper bills automatically when the system changed. So my options are to either pay the amount I don’t trust is correct or go down there and ask for a paper copy? Been on hold for 2 hours.

Any suggestions?

Hi friends. I’ve had a pretty debilitating case of body dysmorphia my whole life. It’s tied in with a history of trauma and bad eating habits, as well. Wondering if anyone in RVA has had any luck with any support groups, whether it’s online or in person (preferred). I want the group to be rva-based, and feel like a community. I’m a cis straight man but connect more with women emotionally, so a coed group is preferred.

I stare at my body daily in hatred and pick at my love handles daily and break down in tears if I open up about it. But on the surface I’m athletic and confident and just “overweight,” so my disorder isn’t really taken seriously by friends or family. Looking for a group that might understand the pain I bottle up. Thanks <3

Has anyone been to the festival? Whats it like?
This year is the 6th year it looks like. Planning on going with the family (3 year old and 11 month old). Looks like they have a variety of kids activities!

Our American Cultural Heritage and History are less protected

A lot of us in Richmond value our history and culture and want to see it protected or at least documented through archaeological investigations, avoidance, or minimization of impacts. Please watch this video about the 60th anniversary of the National Historic Preservation Act, why it was started (and signed into law LBJ and given teeth by Richard Nixon), what it does for us, and why it’s currently in danger.

No matter your political affiliation I believe that most people do not want to see our history erased.

If you feel like I do, you should let your representatives know.

I know that there are many problems we are currently facing, but all of that has the effect of letting things like this slip by unnoticed. That’s why I did what I have never done but once, and post on Reddit.

Looking for ballpark costs to have someone come to clean a 2300 square foot home every 2 weeks

Following the lawsuit with the NAR, I’m trying to figure out what have been the best options in rates and commissions for realtors. I know some realtors have gone toward flat rate while others have found other ways to bring value. Just wanted to see what the RVA community has seen work for them with buying and selling property.

Big Folk Fester here. Great year! Here's my takeaways:
1. Brown's Island renovations mostly fenced off, but looked nice. Accessibility ramp is great. Excited to see it all done.
2. Allianz really cramps the vibe. Bag check is lame, and they take up the whole center of the festival area. I miss when it was all more compact. We shouldn't have sold out the riverfront to Live Nation.
3. Line up was outstanding. Mariachi Mariposas, Insun Park and The Generals, and El Khat were the highlights for me. Didn't expect to head bang to Korean mask dancing. Look them up if you missed out.
4. Lots of fiddles!
5. Where were the folklife stands? Looked like there was only one when I walked by.

Sad. Interesting to me that this was a daytime shooting and police attempted to obtain a warrant for a nearby apartment building for hours but once inside didn’t find anyone. Some folks who have posted the gofundme seem to indicate a suspect has not been identified. I wonder if this was random or targeted. Condolences to his family and friends.

I lost my beading bag full of all of my supplies around 10pm tonight. I was parked at Jefferson & Grace St. Please DM me or comment if you have any information. I'm willing to give a small reward if returned!

Come out and show your support for democracy and a bunch of local orgs this Saturday at Monroe Park. The rally will have speakers on election protection and the three amendments coming up on the ballot.

After the march we will have various local speakers talk about their local campaigns and events, like VRS divest campaign, DSA with their Block Flock campaign, Ranked Choice Voting in RVA and others.

There will also be a dozen or so local activist orgs tabling and we are running a period product drive as well.
