People do not do this because they are afraid of the word but because such words can get one banned or shadow banned or even just not shared as much. This is a sneaky mode of subversion by talking about a thing the social media company does not encourage be discussed. They do this in the name of protecting people from the evils of the world, specifically drugs, pornography, and violence. By censuring these they inadvertantly or possibly advertently, censor other topics that use the same words even though the topic is beneficial to society to be discussed. This is what is meant by technocracy.
It's so stupid though. It means next they'll ban drg as well. Then they'll ban d*g. Until we have simplified George Orwell 1984 Newspeak keeping us and our thoughts simple and pliable.
