Fox says they are entertainment and not news. It was a very smart move by them because they don’t need to be accountable

I support this message. There’s enough room in the head basket for those that consciously supported an authoritarian takeover for profit.

Yes! There is precedent!

My first thought, too.

"You idiots are supposedly the journalists", but meanwhile Fox News has stated multiple times in a court of law that they are an Entertainment channel and that "no reasonable person would view their statements as factual".

Fox News is "News" like WWE is "Sports". It's very entertaining, but ultimately just that, not real.

"Never believe that fascists are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. They have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. If you press them too closely, they will abruptly fall silent, loftily indicating by some phrase that the time for argument is past." Jean-Paul Sartre

"Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense." Alan Moore, V for Vendetta

Yup. And it’s pretty obvious when you watch it they aren’t attempting any real investigative journalism. They either sensationalize or minimize.

This is not accurate. They argued in court that some of their commentary shows such as Tucker Carlson are not news and are entertainment. Fox News is a regsitered news agency and they are supposed to hold to journalistic standards.

Just like everything else with the Trump Administration, ‘decorum’ and ‘standards’ mean absolutely nothing unless there are penalties behind them.

They haven’t been actual news for years

Their goal is to talk about a news story say “look at how bad those minorities are!” And drive home a narrative to Joe from WhogivesaFuck, Nebraska

That's Cousinfucker, Nebraska, thank you very much!

Oh very smart move! /s
If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, what is it? Just have some balls and actually put the foot down on corporations? How about this one?
