Looking to Hire Hydrology and Instrumentation Technician
Looking for someone who's technically minded and likes getting out in nature.
$30 - $40 / hr.
https://www.indeed.com/viewjob?jk=5592cad9513a9bb6
https://www.linkedin.com/jobs/view/4478810177/
Hydrology and Instrumentation Technician
JE Fuller is a specialized hydrology and engineering firm that has been designing, building and maintaining flood warning and data collection systems for local, state and federal agencies since 1996.
About the Position
JE Fuller is looking for a versatile, technically minded Hydrology & Instrumentation Technician to join our Real-Time Hydrology Group in Tempe, Arizona. The Technician will assist the Real-Time Hydrology Group by helping plan, design, install, maintain, and operate remote hydro-meteorological data collection stations (rain gauges, stream gauges, flood monitoring cameras and weather stations) which use various telemetry methods and protocols including ALERT, ALERT2, Cellular, and Satellite.
We are a small team and we are looking for someone who is curious, adaptable, comfortable learning new technology, and willing to jump in wherever needed. You do not need to have experience with every aspect of the job. We are interested in people with strong technical aptitude, practical problem-solving skills, and an interest in hydrology and earth sciences.
What You’ll Do
· Install and maintain rain gauges, stream gauges, weather stations, cameras, and other remote monitoring equipment
· Configure and troubleshoot sensors, data loggers, telemetry equipment, radios, cellular modems, and related electronics
· Help plan and build new monitoring and flood-warning stations
· Perform electronics testing, troubleshooting, calibration, and repair
· Work with ALERT, ALERT2, cellular, satellite, and other telemetry systems
· Use hand and power tools for station installation, maintenance, and occasional custom fabrication
· Review hydrologic data and help maintain station records and metadata
· Coordinate with other members of our team and directly with clients
· Split time between field work and office-based technical work
What We’re Looking For
At a minimum, we're looking for someone who is:
· Authorized to work in the U.S., has a valid driver's license (or ability to obtain one in Arizona)
· Comfortable working outdoors and traveling
· Able to problem-solve and learn new skills
· Interested in hydrology, earth science, electronics, instrumentation, or a related field.
Beyond that, experience with any of the following is helpful—but we don't expect applicants to check every box: hand and power tools; low-voltage electronics; sensors and instrumentation; trucks and trailers; basic surveying; computer skills; hydrographic data collection and analysis; troubleshooting technical equipment; or working at heights.
A high school diploma or GED is required. An associate or bachelor's degree is welcome, but practical experience, technical aptitude, and a willingness to learn are equally important to us.
Benefits
· Health and dental insurance
· 401k
· Profit sharing
· Flexible schedule
Special Working Conditions
Technicians will often work outside most of the day, occasionally driving up to 300 miles. Temperatures range from below freezing in the mountains in winter to over 115 degrees in the lower elevations in the summer. Technicians may be asked to work in rainy, dusty or snowy conditions. Maintenance visits outside the Phoenix area may include overnights, sometimes involving camping.
Technicians will operate a variety of tools, including saws, drills, and other related power tools. Successful candidates for this position must be able to maintain standardized health and safety certifications (e.g., OSHA, MSHA).
Please send your resume to [resumes@jefuller.com](mailto:resumes@jefuller.com) by October 30, 2026.

Lost & Found Blanket given to the goodwill.
Long story short this blanket has so much sentimental value to me. I was given this blanket when I was fighting sepsis from a C-section in 2021. It went thru every CT scan with me. Then my daughter grew up with it for 5 years and somehow we lost the blanket. I don't know if a family member threw it out or what but it still does not sit right with me. Has anyone found this blanket at any goodwills??? I know it's a long shot but the Reddit community gods pls come thru.

Pets Where CAN you actually re-home animals?!
I've been trying to find homes for kittens since June and I am at my wit's end. AdoptaPet, Nextdoor, Facebook, personally asking everyone I know; nothing has panned out. And many sites, including this subreddit, you can't even post animals up for adoption either.
I was just trying to do right by a feral colony in my neighborhood and it's all becoming completely overwhelming. Now I understand why the feral cat situation is so completely out of control in Phoenix.
It's always the same responses. A low res jpeg flyer telling you not to give away cats for free and an essay about how people feed them to snakes with a bunch of rescues listed, most not even in business or with a full vm mailbox. Some lady critiquing your rehoming fee or saying you're asking too much when you ask them a few follow up questions.
I know this sub doesn't allow rehoming posts; I'm not doing that. I just need to know where people actually have success with this, because I'm running out of options and honestly running out of patience. Local Facebook groups? A subreddit that actually allows it?
The best I've found is a rescue that takes surrenders, but I can't do that to these cats. They just learned to trust humans. I've put in countless hours domesticating them, teaching them that people are safe; only to throw them in a kennel next to 100 other cats? This was my first attempt at this, a complete passion project. Heidi's village told me to pound sand as well.
I was planning to go legit and had halfway completed my 501c application to create my own cat rescue. Now I'm having second thoughts about the whole thing. I'm starting to bond with these cats, but I already have 5 cats of my own. I've spent 4 months completely dead-ended with 8, not to mention getting them fixed, SNiP sent me home with a severely contagious URI infection that affected ALL 8, and vet fees on top of that, that they just recovered from two weeks ago. Not to mention I'm battling a slough of personal issues as well.
I wanted to rehome them while they were still small kittens. Now they're 6 months old and I'm no closer. Every day the odds get thinner. What options are even left? Please, tell me if you've had success anywhere.

Lost & Found Stray dogs need placing(urgent)
Hello! I’m looking for help with two stray male dogs I found Thursday morning around 1–2 a.m. near Van Buren and 107th. I believe they may have been dumped because they are extremely skinny, with their ribs and hip bones visible, despite appearing to be trained and possibly neutered. Both are incredibly sweet, friendly with people, and not aggressive at all, although one is a little skittish. I took them to the vet after finding them, and their vital signs were good, with no visible cuts, scrapes, or bruises. They are eating and drinking just fine, but unfortunately, I cannot keep them because my family has allergies. I’m hesitant to contact the Humane Society because I’m worried about their chances of being adopted, and I would hate for these sweet boys to be euthanized. If anyone can help with fostering, rescuing, or finding them a safe, loving home, I would be incredibly grateful!
