Listen, don't be coming after us for how we speak, eh? I'm on the Atlantic side. We're either French or Irish and fishermen are basically just seaworthy rednecks. We can take this outside n I can bury ya in snowbank.

"Seaworthy Rednecks"
I'm just going to rob that off you cause I've never a heard a term that so aptly describes some of the b'ys out around the bay.

That's central Canada! The Acadiens are more likely to say something like: "JfC mahn, it fkn could ouhtside." And then we go axe throwing or play curling er sumshet.

Edit: The farther east you go, the more hospitable we are but the more we swear. Usually there's a tabarnak or callis thrown in there too.

It's summer in Australia - I would LOVE it if you buried me in snow bank! That sounds like such fun! And then after, we can make maple candy and I'll buy you a hot chocolate :D

I know you're joking, but you legit can go to maple farms and they do tours and still pour hot syrup in the snow.

My city is a cruise ship destination (Saint John NB) and we have a farmers/artisan market in the summer made out of shipping containers. There's a family owned maple syrup farm that sells their handmade goods there and they refurbished one of those old stone cold creamery ice tables to make fresh maple syrup rolls right there on the wharf.

But if yous want ta try the maplsyrup yas also gotta get some of the dulse, eh? Can't have the sweet without the savory.

Dulse is a locally harvested seaweed, usually green or red that is basically covered in salt and dried. It's MUCH saltier than Asian seaweed snacks and comes in long strips like jerky.

It's an acquired taste but if you leave the cruise ship terminal and go up the hill to the Farmer's Market(oldest continuously operated Farmer's market in Canada.) and ask the fishmonger or the butcher they'll usually give ya a lil free sample. And if ya like it the bags are usually only a couple bucks.

Stay TF away from Steamer's Lobster company tho, that place is a lil shietshack tourist trap. It's not owned by the Grannan's anymore but if you want fresh seafood just take the bus to St Martin's and get it from the boat. (Always let lobster starve a few days before eating though so their bodies can digest whatever shiet they were eatin' Or, when ya cook it, remove the tail and cut it down the center of the tail lengthwise and remove the green/black line down the center. )

Lmk if you wanna know how to open an oyster properly or how to cook an eat Mussles/clams. And if you ever get sand in yer clams don't fkn believe em when they say that's normal. It means they never fkn washed em and the head chef is a shit for sendin' it out.

Source; I worked at Steamer's Lobster company when it was owned by the Grannan's.

Also fck the Grannan's.

Edit; I also remembered that you said yer Australian. I was actually aware yer winter coincides with our summer n vice verse. I will take -35 over swoopin season. At least I only have to wear a helmet when I'm goin tobogganing.

Thank you for the "seaworthy rednecks" - I needed that chuckle :)

The snowbank would probably apologize for being cold.

You know, funny you mention you're fishermen because the real thing Canadians say is Aboat. Out of all my friends I've not actually heard Aboot.
