Is this a medical procedure or something?

Seems like asthma medicication application. Cats usually do not like their nose shoved in to the regular inhaling cone.

i remember my brother and sister who has asthma use a device like that. granted they used a oxygen mask attached to the device instead of a jury rigged water jug, but good luck using an oxygen mask on an animal let alone an orange.

Oh good I was worried what they were doing to their cat.

Just reminded me of Sven and what may happen to those who are.. Less cooperative.

I'm not sure why you're being down voted. Unless you've had asthma, or a cat with asthma, or know how breathing treatments work, you'd be unlikely to know what is happening here...

Ya like excuse me for being worried about a cat in a plastic jug with no context lol.

In fairness....there's medical stuff visibly attached to the jug and the cat isn't in distress.

It looks like an improvised nebulizing chamber. Sometime inhaled meds have to be delivered through vapour, which seems to be what is happening there given the gizmo on the right hand side. It's not a bad improved tank to be honest. In a human it would be a ask but that's not practical with a critter. I've seen similar setups done with fish tanks for smaller critters like pet rats.

As an anesthesiologist I’m giggling at the setup- a double lumen tube and the syringe taped to the bottom for the inflatable cuff(s) 😄

If I get a big enough bottle can I give myself my asthma medication like this as well?

I got a kick out of the DLT as well. I wonder why an ETT wouldn’t work. Maybe they need a differential delivery port so it actually stays in the chamber.

My guess is that the bronchial lumen gives the contraption more stability, since it extends a fair bit past the tracheal cuff and can be fixed to the inside of the chamber with a bit of tape.

Fair point! Just seems expensive, although I guess they can just reuse the same tube over and over in this case.

Yes it is a braincell transplant

Those poor braincells will find nothing to live off

That first pic is so good, I'm genuinely disappointed the sub doesn't look active. Joined anyway ofc.

My stoned ass thought they were taking a hotboxing challenge way too seriously.
