Hey MTL food lovers! Let’s talk about what you ate this week.
-Tried a new spot?
- Had a killer dish at an old favorite?
- Cooked something worth sharing?
- Discovered a hidden gem in Laval, the West Island, or beyond?
Drop a photo, a quick review, or even just the name of the place. Tell us what you liked (or didn’t). Upvote others. Keep it casual, honest, and useful.

In town but no tix. Anyone have any recs for a solid place to watch? Staying in Plateau. Don’t want to end the night in a brawl kind of place and definitely not the hotel lobby bar kind of place. I’m a people person to be sure. Decent pub food/snacks would be nice too (that’s where you come in!). Bonus if I can meet up with you as a group or solo, all good either way. I’m solo and just looking for a cool place to watch people enjoying the game! Here’s to a good finish against Minnesota!

I don't remember the exact place I had a dish of cheese soufflé and a side of beet salad... Chez Levesque maybe? Lemeac? Neither?
Anyone with an idea on where to find a cheese soufflé?

I'm visiting from a city in the US that doesn't really have a Chinatown. What I really want to do is pick up a bunch of different stuff and bring it back to my hotel for a feast (my hotel room has a kitchenette) I'm a super adventurous eater and I'm so excited. I would love some help picking out some of the local favorites!
Edit: any Vietnamese recommendations. I'm willing to travel as far as I need.

Where can I find banana pudding in Montreal? Something like Magnolia Bakery in NYC? Any recommendations?

Hey everyone! I’ve been perusing this group for the last several days and really struggling to figure out where to take my husband for dinner on our trip to Mtl on a sunday night (and monday) Most of the recommended restaurants on this thread are closed on Sundays!
It’s his birthday on the sunday so hoping for a nice place to celebrate the big day! I’m hoping for a well loved restaurant, budget less than 250 pp ideally. Open to most cuisines (just not heavy on raw fish/sushi as I’m pregnant).
We will also be in Mtl on Monday and appreciate we are running into the same issue with finding restaurants that are open on Monday but I think we’ll probably go to a more low key spot/less fancy.
TIA!

Heading to Montreal with a buddy for Leafs vs Habs on Boxing Day. Staying near Atwater, so looking for some good spots around there or close to the Bell Centre.
Been to Montreal plenty of times and hit places like Joe Beef, Liverpool House, Cloakroom and more. Love those spots but we'll be in jerseys, so probably not the vibe. Although I'd love a cocktail at Cloakroom at some point!
Was thinking Ye Olde Orchard or Mister Steer, but open to suggestions. Looking for some good food, drinks and a good party scene before and after the game.
Where would you guys recommend?

Hi!
I'm from QC city, and I am passing by Montreal in Monday to have dinner with an old friend. I used to live in Montreal, miss it dearly for some aspects, food is definitely high the list!
Looking for recommandations for restaurants open on Monday, moderately priced (50-79 ish), ideally some cuisine that we dont really have in Quebec city (so no french bistro or Italian). Maybe Korean, or more niche food specialty. Already going for soup dumplings for lunch.
I'll be staying near Berri uqam but I can travel anywhere close to a metro station.
Thank you sooooo much 😘

I would like to find a new go-to ramen spot with DECENT prices. Yokato Yokabai/Ichigo Ichie used to be my favorite, but the price has gone up and they’re not very generous with the toppings. My other classic spots are Tsukuyomi and Misoya. I’m especially a sucker for Tonkotsu broth. Where do you like going?

Looking at Boullion Albert, L’express, and Monarque’s Brasserie. Looking for good French comfort food and a fun vibe. Thanks!

The 2026 MTLàTABLE list is out and it runs from October 29 to November 15. I’m tempted to use it as an excuse to try a few places I’ve had on my radar, but I don’t want to book something just because it has a prix-fixe menu.
For those of you who checked it out in past years or are already planning this year, which restaurants do you think are worth it? Especially interested in places where the MTLàTABLE menu feels like good value not just a stripped-down version of the regular menu.
Would love to hear your picks: best overall meal, best value, best brunch and any places to skip unless you’re already dying to try them.

Hey everyone!
Looking for a beautiful restaurant with great food and atmosphere for a Christmas dinner with my work team (8–10 people) during the first week of December.
I was considering Dorsia and Cappello, but neither has opened December reservations yet.
Any recommendations for somewhere elegant that accepts reservations this early?
Thanks!

My husband and I are coming for a weekend (Thursday to Sunday) in November. We love food and wine. We have a reservation at Hoogan & Beaufort Thursday night. We are having trouble picking the other two (Friday and Saturday) dinners. Our list is as follows:
Garde Manger
Le Club Chasse et Peche
Joe Beef
Mon Lapin
Last year we visited and ate at Alma, Monarque and Mousso.
Where would you eat the other two nights? Other suggestions?

This is my family's favorite sharing option. What restaurant has your favorite? And bonus points if it has tirokafteri.

Hello all!
I am looking for Christmas work dinner options with set menus for a party of 17. A place with parking most importantly and somewhere nice without being $100 per person.
Any suggestions please?
Thank you! :)

We went to Modavie few years ago on our first night in Montreal and had a surprisingly nice French meal, and we enjoyed the atmosphere.
For our upcoming trip to Montreal I was looking for recommendations here, and it seems like there is not a lot of talk about this restaurant. Is Modavie still recommended for classic French cuisine and a night out in Montreal?

Hello! My partner and I are coming up from NYC for Christmas week and need help finalizing dinner plans. We’ve already made a few reservations but can’t pick between a final few. We have no budget limits and are fine with anything as long as the food is excellent. No allergies either.
Already booked:
- Les Fougères (on our way through Chelsea)
- Au Pied de Cochon
Still need two more for the week..
Deciding between:
- Le Club Chasse et Pêche
- Panacée
- Bouillon Bilk
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
