We'd like to invite everyone to reply with...
- Anything you've been listening to recently and enjoying.
- Great obscure music that doesn't get the upvotes you think it deserves.
- Your own playlists, mixtapes, or other good compilations you've found.
- New releases this week and your opinions on those albums.
- If you're an artist, share your music with us and tell us about it.
Guidelines to get the most out of these threads...
- Always provide listening links for anything you share here.
- Tell us a little bit about what you're sharing and why you like it.
- No top40/hall of fame artists, no 'corporate bullshit' music please!
- For top-level comments, downvote if there is no listening link.
- Format any posted links as follows: [Artist - "Song Title"](https://www.yoururlhere.com) instead of just posting the URL.

ist -- Similarly Inclined [Indie Rock] (2004)
Underrated mid-2000s UK indie rock band. The frontman, Kenton Hall (who also collaborated with acts like The Swinging Laurels and The Smears), is currently crowdfunding a new album project named Saskatchewan, via the Explanatory Notes EP. Outside of music, he's also known as an actor, director, and writer for various audio dramas (including Sherlock Holmes / Doctor Who stuff)
But their old catalogue under ist is absolute gold if you're into 2000s UK indie. Worth a listen!!

Buddy Clark & the Ray Noble Orchestra -- Linda [romantic ballad] (1947)
""Linda" is a [popular](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Popular_music) [song](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Song) written and published in 1946 by [Jack Lawrence](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JackLawrence(songwriter)). The song was written in 1942 when Lawrence was in the service during [World War II](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WorldWar_II), taking its name from the then one-year-old daughter of his attorney, [Lee Eastman](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lee_Eastman). (His daughter was Linda Eastman McCartney, future first wife of the [Beatle](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beatles) [Paul McCartney](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_McCartney).)[[1]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda(1946song)#cite_note-1)[[2]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda(1946song)#cite_note-ScarsdaleInquirer1947-09-26-2)
The song did not get published until after Lawrence left the military, and was then recorded by a number of performers, but the biggest hit was by [Ray Noble's](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RayNoble(musician))orchestra (with a vocal by [Buddy Clark](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buddy_Clark)).[[3]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda(1946song)#cite_note-pc19-3) Other charted versions were by [Charlie Spivak](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charlie_Spivak) (vocal by Tommy Mercer); [Paul Weston](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Weston) (vocal by [Matt Dennis](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Matt_Dennis)); and by Larry Douglas.[[4]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda(1946_song)#cite_note-4)
Recordings
The recording by [Ray Noble](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RayNoble(musician)) and [Buddy Clark](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BuddyClark) was recorded on November 15, 1946, and released by [Columbia Records](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbia_Records).[[5]](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Linda(1946_song)#cite_note-5) It first reached the [Billboard](app://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Billboard_(magazine)) Best Sellers chart on March 21, 1947, and lasted thirteen weeks on the chart, peaking at number two.
