Brick Lane Stories: Inside Emโs Grocers from my BDP submission
Next up in my Brick Lane Stories is Emโs Grocers, the little traditional grocery shop underneath one of the railway arches.
Emma has the day off, so sheโs popped in to visit her dad at the shop โ along with his best mate, a rather well-looked-after plant ๐ชด๐
I wanted the shop to feel properly crammed-in and lived-in, with fruit and veg outside, shelves of jars and groceries, bread and cakes, a counter, till and all the other little bits youโd expect to find inside.
Like the skate shop, thereโs quite a lot hidden in here that I didnโt manage to show properly in my original BDP renders, so Iโve been experimenting with some closer interior shots.
Brick Lane is currently in Crowd Support for BrickLink Designer Program 2028 Wave 1. If you like it, please consider voting here:

Brick Lane Stories: The skate shop inside my BDP submission
I thought Iโd start sharing some of the little stories and details hidden around my Brick Lane design during BDP Crowd Support.
One of my favourite parts is the skate shop underneath the railway arches.
I grew up in East London and spent a lot of time in the 2000s travelling into London to skateboard and visit skate shops, so when I started designing Brick Lane I knew I wanted to include a little independent skate shop.
I tried to cram in the sort of stuff I remember from those shops โ decks covering the walls, wheels and accessories, clothing, a counter and till, and generally far too much stuff squeezed into a small space ๐
Thereโs also a skater and snowboarder browsing inside, with the skater making another appearance outside the shop.
I didnโt manage to show the interiors particularly well in my original BrickLink submission. I was rushing to finish everything before the deadline and rendering on my MacBook Air takes forever ๐
Iโve been experimenting with brighter renders since then. Theyโre still a long way off what Iโd like them to be, but I think Iโm probably going to need a better computer before my next submission! Hopefully these at least show some of the details hiding inside a bit better.

The Shop Around the Corner โ LEGO build update ๐๐
The Shop Around the Corner โ LEGO build update ๐๐
A little update on my Youโve Got Mail inspired Shop Around the Corner build!
Iโve been working on the exterior quite a bit, and itโs finally starting to feel like the cozy little NYC bookstore I had in my head. I added more texture to the brickwork, the greenery and flowers above the sign, a fall tree, streetlamp, bench, and a few little movie-inspired details.
Iโm especially happy with how the dark green storefront is coming together against the tan upper level. Still tweaking some details before I call it finished, but Iโm getting close!
The goal is to eventually submit this one to LEGO Ideas.
Would love some feedback from fellow builders โ anything youโd add, change, or refine before I finish it?

BDP 2028 Wave 1 entry - The Holabrick Building
This is a brand-new entry I designed for BDP 2028 Wave 1, and the second skyscraper I've designed for the program! I'm continuing on my mission to fill the skyscraper-shaped hole in the official Lego lineup. Like my previous submission, the design takes inspiration from multiple real-world skyscrapers, though I went a more art-deco route this time! This is actually an overhaul of an earlier design I started for a prior series but didn't finish; had to redesign the entire roof and arched window section basically from scratch due to changes in the parts palette for this wave (might post comparison pics in the future if anyone's curious). Height clocks in at 28.7" (73 cm), even taller than my last one! Even with the limited part budget, I still managed to mantain a furnished and accessible interior! It also beats my previous record for largest model I've ever designed by part count with 3,990 pieces. I'm very proud of how it turned out!
Bonus pic at the end showing how it might look lit up from the inside!
Check out the submission here!
Tell me what you think in the comments, I'd love to get your feedback!

Wednesdayโs Dorm MOD
When building modular MOCs, I struggle most with roofs. I decided to do things backwards and build a MOC based on a roof set. I have seen a few different variations of this build, but I wanted to make my version a little different. It is fully enclosed with a partially complete interior.
I plan to spend more time on the interior at a later date.

A last-minute change I made to Brick Lane before the BDP deadline
One of the last changes I made to Brick Lane before submitting it to the BrickLink Designer Program was the station sign.
I originally built a LEGO version inspired by the classic London Underground roundel. I really liked how it looked, but as the deadline got closer I started worrying that it might be a little too close to TfL branding/IP.
I only finished and submitted the model last Friday before the deadline, so rather than risk the whole submission being rejected over one detail, I played it safe and changed it to the simpler dark blue BRICK LANE sign you can see on the submitted version.
I still really like the original though!
Which do you prefer โ the Underground-inspired version or the simpler blue sign?

Grand opening of the Natural History Museum! ๐ฆ๐๏ธ
After weeks of building, the museum is ready to open its doors. The management even hired a marching band and majorette from Brickleys Store in the Shopping Street for the opening.
I really enjoyed building this set and love how it looks in the city.
One small warning for anyone building it: check the paper wrapping of the instruction booklet before throwing it away! I accidentally binned mine without realising the poster was inside. Luckily, LEGO replaced it for me.
The museum is now open! ๐ฆ

Just finished the Police Station, which will be my last modular (until next yearโs ๐ )
Such a fun build to finish on! Love the storytelling and the call back to the Brick Bank. Iโd love to see more modulars using dark green.

Nashville Stores
Question for those in the Nashville area: are the two stores there comparable? My family and I are staying in Franklin for a few days. Is the one at Opry Mills Mall bigger or better than the one at Cool Springs?

Traditional Japanese Bathhouse & Garden Restaurant
Hi all, as a big lover of Japanese architecture and culture, I have designed a unique model for BDP 2028 Wave 1.
It combines a traditional Japanese bathhouse with a hidden garden restaurant.
The model also features a detailed boiler room, Japanese garden, and traditional sento interior.
