Am I the only one who found the muzzle fire (also the muzzle flash) annoying which appears with a slight delay if you shove right after firing the sniper rifle. I thought it was addon’s issue but it seems like it also happens in vanilla game too. I tried to find a way to fix this but nobody even talks about it.

I just built my first pc and set everything up today. It seems I missed the sale of 1 of the 2 games I wanted by a week :/. Does this sale happen regularly because I really want to play l4d2 as I miss the 360 days, but unsure if I should wait a bit. Ps this is my first time on a pc and steam in general.

There’s something I’ve been wondering about: Why are there so many Witches in the Hard Rain campaign in Left 4 Dead 2? Is there an official source explaining this, or is there a well-developed fan theory about it?

I just thought of a Halloween mod idea for the defibrillator no one in the l4d workshop hasn't made a Halloween themed defibrillator which i feel like if someone did make a Halloween defibrillator mod it would probably be like a Necromancer book or something to fit Halloween not just a Retexture.

For the record, I downloaded Halloween mods that lead up to 144 mods (including other non-Halloween mods) to make the game fit the vibe I'm going for this month. Not a single mod is conflicted/red mind you, all are working fine and are white. And yet the second I grab my weapons and medkits, walk out to go kill undead and skeletons, the game fucking crashes. It kept happening on Hard Rain but not on maps like Tumtara and Whitaker's Shooting Range where I tested some things out with the mods. And yet every time I try to play Hard Rain, it crashes. So I tried another map, Dead Center, same thing. I'm kind of at a loss of what to do at this point and I genuinely don't wanna uninstall a lot that would ruin the experience.

Also yes, I did verify integrity of the files countless times and it didn't work

since people have made skate 3 , halo and other games to be played on a browser , can we do it with left for dead 2

For the record I have about 132 mods installed and none of them are conflicting with one another

I've been thinking about Left 4 Dead lore again and honestly? I don't think the Green Flu was ever a natural thing. Imo it was just some government super-soldier project that went horribly wrong.

Basically, the military wanted guys who could run faster and take way more damage without dying. No idea where the lab was exactly—maybe somewhere in Pennsylvania since that's where the first games happen, but that's just a guess.

Anyway, my theory is they needed a base virus to modify human genetics. They found some weird organic substance in a cave or something that boosted muscle growth, but someone fucked up and didn't check the sample properly. There was probably a dead rat with rabies nearby, fluids mixed, and nobody noticed. Classic oversight.

Then the whole thing collapsed because of a stupid accident:

Some scientist got infected in the lab.

He panicked because he knew they'd just execute him to cover it up, so he ran.

He didn't make it far though. Got sick in an ambulance, ended up in Mercy Hospital, and died there. But not before infecting the staff.

And from there it just exploded. CEDA came in, tried to quarantine Mercy, but they completely dropped the ball. Half their own crew got infected and the whole response turned into a circus.

Why do the infected look like zombies?

Because of that rabies mix-up. The virus wasn't supposed to kill people—it was supposed to pump them with adrenaline and stop cell death so they wouldn't die easily. But the rabies part fried their brains. So they're not actually dead, just alive, rotting, and constantly aggressive.

Also, Tanks or Hunters aren't "special models" or anything designed on purpose. Imo it's just random biological luck. Everyone's body reacts differently. Some people become commons, and some guy who took too many steroids or had weird genetics turns into a Tank.

The Survivors / Carriers

This is the part that makes the most sense to me: Bill, Zoey, Ellis and the rest don't have some magic immune gene. I think their bodies are just used to getting beaten up. They've been through wars, rough accidents, or just lived unhealthy lives, so their immune systems managed to hold off the virus.

So they feel fine. But here's the fucked up part—they're still spreading it.

They walk into a camp, shake hands, help people, feel totally fine... and three days later everyone around them is turning. The military isn't hunting them to find a cure. They're hunting them because they realize these guys are literally destroying every town they walk through without even knowing it.

I know Valve never confirmed any of this and there's no actual proof in-game, so who knows. But to me this fills the plot holes way better than "it mutated from a cow" or whatever.

What do you think? Any obvious holes in this?

I’m not sure where to post this, but I’m putting it here because L4D2 is my favorite shooter built on the Source engine.

I think Source is "the ultimate engine"; it strikes the perfect balance between realism and the feeling of actually playing a game. Obviously, in terms of technical specs, realism, and other advanced techniques, there are far superior engines out there—and I’m not a huge fan of Source’s lighting—but otherwise, it’s an excellent engine. I really wish more games were made using it.

I mean, you can see the model vertices, the flat 2D textures, and other little details—yet the game doesn't feel low-quality. Personally, I find it quite beautiful at times; it reminds you that "not everything has to be ultra-realistic." There’s a really interesting balance there.

There are so many pixel-art games or titles with a PS1 aesthetic—maybe even too many—so why not more games built on the original Source engine? Like *Cry of Fear*.

So today I went to my local pawn shop and bought left 4 dead 2 for my series x for 25 Australian dollars assuming if I changed my console region to United States i would be able to play the uncensored regular version of left 4 dead 2 but instead when I went to play it was the shit Australian censored version or -lv for comp left 4 dead 2 players on pc now if I bought a copy from America on eBay would have this solved this problem.

Well folks, this is the second time I've come across these posts. Based on the limited information I've seen, it's very likely that the L4d2 figures are real.

The Italian will have a 1/12 scale or maybe a little taller, like 30 centimeters. What do you think?
