Following on from this post where I shared other fangan, I want to share this japanese fangan that has full english translation.

Danganronpa TheAfter: Future of Despair School is an in-progress Japanese video series created by Kurono Pencil. The series currently contains a prologue and two chapters. The third chapter, "Rhapsodies in Green", is currently in-progress.

This fangan is somewhat niche in English fandom, despite the fact that it has a full English translation. I think it's all because the video on Youtube is in Japanese, and to turn on the translation you need to turn on subtitles, which are rarely used, turning the western audience away (by the way, this translation was done by a translator, not a machine**, and the quality of the translation is really good**).

In general, this is a very ancient fangan, its development began in 2013, and the first episode was released in 2015. The last episode (chapter 3, class trial part 2) was released in 2026, yes, this is a very long period of time, but I heard that there's only one person mainly working on the project, so that explains it all.

The story follows Konoe Shimatate, an ultimate lucky student and a full-of-hope idealistic girl. Pretty similar to Makoto, right? But I assure you that she has her own story to tell. Monokuma isn't alone in this killing game, either; he's helped by Hold Nova (that woman with mint hair and red eyes), an AI guidance program that was supposed to help the students, but was hacked.

Often coming across one note, Elodie can be a bit of a tough cookie to crack. Shes incredibly astute and observant. People around her tend to describe her as cold, and direct, however the few who have gotten to know her more know there's a softness to her, mainly shown through her love of foxes.

Recently, I got the idea to make my fangan's blood be have this static effect instead of being pink. In my head, I was thinking about how cool and inventive it looks, and how it's really dissonant with the natural setting, and stuff like that. So I ended up throwing a few sloppy mockups together... and then I realised that it looks like that Pibby glitch thing from a while back. There goes that idea, I guess.

But then I got to thinking, is this something that most people will think, or is this just me? So I want to get the community opinions to see if the idea's cool or not. Either way, I probably will end up experimenting even a little with blood colours, so thoughts, feedback, and suggestions on better blood colours are totally appreciated!

The arm cast is something I think whode hapen if they ware in the game

....but will likely not use because they don't really fit into the story.

1. Resurrection of a previously deceased student. I wanted to kind of reimagine the V3 Necronomicon motive in a way where it would actually inspire murder, in this case killing one person so the previously deceased student (Transfer Student) would end up taking over thair corpse. A trial would still happen.

2. The mastermind dying before the last chapter is reached. It could be a nice twist that instead of a classic reveal, the cast realizes that the mastermind among them was killed long ago, yet the game went on.

3. Two people actually managing to kill eachother, without a third party involvment. Could be a silly twist.

4. A student escaping the game. Shame that V3 did not take advantage of the First Blood Perk, it's a really neat idea.

Hey! I was wondering how far is too far for the murder and blood and execution parts of a Fangan? Cause I can go extremely dark and angsty in general I’m sure lots could, but I know that the whole point of an execution is like to make the culprit/blackened to feel despair in their final moments of death for killing.

I know I’ll have to add trigger warnings and maybe an age rating most definitely but, is there a point of too far? Like I’ve been writing executions for all characters (even if they don’t end up executed in the actual story, I decided it’d be fun if they all had one or at least some) and one gets pretty dark and I’m not 100% sure if it’s too upsetting for an audience. I dunno if it’s okay to mention on here for reasons of I don’t wanna trigger anyone to negative thoughts or emotions. Is there stuff I should outright avoid or be very cautious around? I wanna be careful as to tell a story but not harm my audience telling said story cause of poor communication and context or portrayal.

What I mean is what do y’all use to encourage and motivate to continue? I always listens to game and video criticism around the game, people breaking down the meaning and storyline around Danganronpa and listening to other game critic videos to get myself feeling motivated as well as any danganronpa videos and music.

Figured I could use some new motivating material to listen to or something in the background as I draw, write and so on.

Antebellum: Lockdown - Asuga Saintil. I think they're going to survive because they lost both of their friends AND got character development.

Apologies to you Asu, but I thought you weren't interesting enough to survive and I thought you would be used to develop Taka. The reason I said this is that she was the one character that I didn't see as flawed going into Ch. 2. I think I was just blind to her flaws because her two flaws on display in this chapter were a) projecting onto Takiko, which I thought was just a symptom of Takiko 's repressment (and plus, Sugi fixed her behavior immediately!) and being overly idealistic in her escapism, which tbh I'm guilty of too.

Hey hey!! I’ve been writing and creating my own Fanganronpa for about for about 6 months on my own for a while, and have been in the mist of the beginning. I’ve been testing music samples of my own, my own cast, backgrounds, and such everything from scratch. And since I’m doing it alone I really need help when it comes to writing, as much as I love to write/type stories I’m struggling on how to begin. And since it’s been 6 months and I’m not moving forward I figured starting for advice could help. I don’t wanna use any AI like I’ve had some suggest to me, so as a first time Fangan creator, how can I start writing a story coherently?

I’ve watched plenty of videos on stuff like this but I’m still struggling with the beginning parts. Any advice would be helpful! 🤍🤍

Conflicted on a redesign I've made for my Ultimate General Knowledgist / Pyrotechnician, wondering if y'all would have any feedback/suggestions on which looks better or what aspects fit better and whatnot.

Someone who’s been on and won lot of game shows and reality shows. They’re 100% confident in their own abilities to win, and brush off the killing game as another one of these shows. They treat the game as if they are the main character, because they are so cocky at their ability to win.

They’re not. They’re a side character and they’d probably be a middle-game death, not getting farther than Chapter 4.

Im considering making a fangan called Uragiri and the second trail (and the moral dilemma from it) is gonna deal with some super dark subjects since the victim is someone who frankly kind of deserves to die for what they have attempted to do (and what they have done is quite a taboo subject) and the trail focuses on whether or not they even want to vote the blackened out (since the core theme is should people be selfish or selfless in a state of survival). I’m a little hesitant on being insensitive since it is a fangame and I’m using it as practice for writing any future original projects since danganronpa has a general structure that makes it easier to write and subvert (I also really just want to share my ideas with anyone who is interested I have many ideas for it but idk if anyone wants to hear me yap about ocs)

basically it’s Danganronpa 2 but with a few changes, including Ken being there.

1. Hiyoko dies in chapter 2 instead of Mahiru

2. Funhouse and Despair Disease motives swap.

3. Mechamaru in chapter 3

so, not going into the details of Hiyokos murder, but she does instead of Mahiru. in chapter 3, after finding out that they’re not going to have any food, Ken goes insane and becomes the Ultimate Jester. after a few days, he goes into the Final Dead Room, uncovers the secret of the funhouse, figures out Gundhams murder plan, and grabs a weapon. he lures Mahiru (someone he’s close with (romantically)) into the tower, and knocks her out and hides her behind a pillar. he also hides behind a pillar and waits for Gundham and Mechamaru to arrive. once Mechamaru enters sleep mode he reveals himself and detaches one of his hands, and kills Gundham and Mahiru with it (making Mechamaru the blackened). he then knocks himself out, and forgets everything that’s happened since he entered the funhouse, and Mechamaru ends up getting executed.

next chapter same Despair Disease stuff (except Mikan and Ibuki. Ibuki volunteers and Mikan gets the gullible disease. and Ken gets the remembering disease.) Ken ends up using Mikans old chapter 3 murder plan on Mikan, and ends up as the blackened. but how does he get his fifth victim? well, as the Ultimate Jester he gets to break the laws of reality to a minor extent. so in the middle of his execution he stretches his arm and drags Ibuki into his execution.

This is a Danganronpa-Based killing game roleplay, centered around 16 Ultimate Talents who've been invited on a definitely-not-suspicious cruise by Hamu☆Holiday Co. Then it's revealed that they're in a killing game, where they must compete for fans in a globally broadcasted show! The top winner for most fans every week gains immunity and cannot be killed, while the loser with the least fans... has to kill another participant in 48 hours, or be executed by the lovely mascot Maku☆Hamu!

Hello there my fellow Danganronpa fans, I have a question. Are there any tips, or tricks, or suggestions for someone new to making a Fangan?

For context, I've been a Danganronpa Fan for a while, and when PJ:EG was announced and all, I was really inspired, and wanted to make my own Fangan for a while. Sadly, at the time, I didn't the time, skills, or drive to actually start making it. Then recently, I've finally gotten my best friend to play Danganronpa. He enjoyed it so much, he wants to make a Fangan also, which leads us to now

We've not gotten to far into development, we're working solely on creating our cast, choosing talents, describing appearances and the such. Him and I are actually quite a good team for this specific project. He's a programmer and an artist, whilst I'm a writer and working on learning music and sound design solely for this project. My friend and I will probably also use DREditor once it's completely finished it's development, so we shouldn't have too much trouble... I hope.

One important thing is that neither of us are animators, so I'm unsure how we'll go about making the excutions, which is definetly an issue we'll run into. With us both being in highschool, time is another thing we might have to work around, but both of us are extremely motivated to bring this project to fruition.

Alongside general tips and tricks for both me and my friend, I also have a few more specific questions for myself.

• I already know I need a DAW because I'm planning on going into voice acting, and with me learning music/sound design for this project I need a DAW even more. I was planning on getting FL Studio, but if there are other, better options, please let me know so I have more to consider, especially if it will help increase the quality of our project
• As i said earlier, neither of us are animators. Should we be worried about the executions, or is there an easy way to deal with that?
• So far we have an idea of both our Chap. 1 Victim and Blackened, and both our planned BDA and planned Execution are pretty gruesome, is there any issues with this, or can/should we make stuff as appaling as we want?
• This is more personal to me in specific. The antagonist/rival characters (Byakuya, Nagito, Kokichi) have always been my favourite characters in each official game, and I enjoy the cynical, chaotic, natures of them, as well as the fact they are all intelligent and help propel the cases and trials forward. For these reasons, I want our games antagonist/rival to be as perfect as possible, so if anyone has recomendations to make them just the right amount of unbearble, and how to develop their character properly over the course of the killing game, to make them perfect, would be greatly appreiciated.

Some of the mechanics we want to implement to make our project a tad more unique might, and will be difficult to code in, and we are well aware this project is quite ambitious for just the two of us, but we going to give it all we've got, so please wish us luck, and thank you in advance for any responses you can give.
