Employee Question Balancing responsibilities

Hi, I’ve been a merchandising supervisor for about a month now and I’m finding a difficult time balancing my duties as a supervisor while also balancing my workload as a merchandiser. Between back up, callbacks, SAR, bopus/troubles, catching up on emails, and the million LOD calls, I feel like I never have time to push out my freight. And yes I do try to delegate tasks as best as possible but it’s hard when there’s barely people on the floor. I’m wondering how you other supervisors are dealing with all the workload?

Employee Question power outage

alrighty so it’s super windy and fire prone in my area, i got a notification warning that they may have to shut the power off in the area where my store’s located at. if it helps it does say it’ll last today through saturday afternoon,

but i was wondering if the managers would let the employees know whether or not they have to come in?? i’m scheduled to close and i wanted some clarity on that lol. kinda hoping the power shuts off though.

Employee Question What should I do

I have worked at kohls for two years now and I haven’t gotten any pay raises other than the state mandated change in minimum wage. I work serval positions like Omni, merchandising, and registers sometimes. Am I in a position to ask for a raise? I am on the verge of finding a new job because I don’t believe it is possible to make more money working for this company. So I’m just looking for some guidance on how raises work within Kohls.

Employee Question First training day

I was hired as a seasonal worker. Saturday is my first ā€œtraining dayā€ on the floor what should I expect? My schedule app says (kids/home) do they typically always do only 1 day of training? I’m already put on the schedule the following shifts on the floor.. and will get fired if we asks for a certain day off 😳since it’s a 90 day period/probation.

Hey yall, I’m a new hire (seasonal) and i’ve been stressing about this topic for the past week, is there genuinely a d**g test? I just want to hear it from someone else if there is one or if i’m just in my head too much about this. Also, my orientation is tomorrow so wish me luck! :)

Employee Question Omni

From my understanding, most stores train everyone on registers and Amazon in case they need backup or for break coverage, but I dont see how its the same for omni. I absolutely despise omni, and I plan on speaking to my manager about it, but is this normal to be scheduled on omni even though I wasnt hired for that position? When I applied I assumed id be doing what I applied for, truck unloading, but all ive done is registers, Amazon, and omni. Tbh, I dont mind registers or Amazon at all, and I actually find registers kinda fun even despite hating it at first. And i dont mean to complain, but omni is so stressful, especially as a newer employee who doesnt know where specific things are. Im just wondering why they keep scheduling me on omni? Most of my shifts for the next 2 weeks are omni... and if anyone has any tips so its less stressful, please lmk! And I have 1 more question, how do I answer a question from a customer like "what items are coupon eligible" if we carry so many different brands? Do I just generalize and tell them popular name brands?

Employee Question What are all the things you wish your management told you when you were new and being trained?

I’m a new Kohl’s associate and the training here at my store is quite rough and limited, it’s my very first retail job as well so I can tell you that it’s not going very smoothly for me. 🫩

Please help me out and tell me all the things you would like a new and untrained coworker to know!

For one, I still don’t know whether I’m supposed to take the zebra and radio device… And a lot of the little things Kohls features like how discounts only work on certain days etc… Tell me anything from the very basics ( I can guarantee you I haven’t been told ), to things that more seasoned workers know! Thanks so much for any help!

EDIT: Oh yeah also, I am hired as a Merchandise Associate :)

Anyone know more or less how to find out when Kohls receives their shipment? I’m in Spring, Tx and this Kohls in my area seems to keep blowing smoke. On Monday I was told it would be Tuesday. Tuesday I was told nothing in the truck followed by today when I called and they said they had received the shipment a few weeks ago!? But no display in sight…

Employee Question When your shift is over..

Do you leave at the designated time or end up after it?

I start tomorrow doing seasonal associate jobs and want to give them a specific availability list. I have class at 2 certain days and it takes about 15 min from the store. If I tell them until 1:30, will I be out at 1:30 or should I tell them 1 because we always get stuck a little later?

Thank you!

Employee Question Rewards at Amazon??

My sm has recently pretty much made it a requirement at our store that customers have to be signed up for rewards in order to return their Amazon packages at our store.
Apparently we're supposed to be handing over the zebra to every customer and if they don't wanna put in their email then we're supposed to refuse their return? Or at least that's what I gathered when it was explained to me a week or so ago. Are we even able to do that since it's a free service? Like I'm genuinely so confused about how they can require a rewards sign up to offer a free service. When my sm came in today she complained bc she didn’t think I had enough rewards but genuinely what am I even supposed to do if the customer is not interested

Timberland boots size 10 I can’t get them even when I google search it and I go to the Kohls website. It says it’s not there anymore. It won’t give me the UPC. I know it’s clearance but we don’t have any left.

Employee Question Ordering Jan 2027 gratis

Sephora @ Kohls beauty advisors, is anybody else having issues ordering their Jan 2027 gratis? The window is open to order but nothing is popping up in the custom product tab or the shopping cart tab. I've attempted to order on the work desktop and my phone during work hours, still nothing is popping up. The only person who was able to order theirs was our Sephora manager.

I am a part time beauty advisor but I've worked at my location for 2 years now. We've seen nothing like this happen, wanted to see if anybody else is having issues.

Employee Question Should a Sephora Beauty Lead be this controlling?

I’ve been a part-time beauty advisor at Sephora @ Kohl’s for months now, and I used to really enjoy this job. Recently, one of our beauty leads left and was replaced by a new person. We’ll call her Rachel.
Rachel has been nothing but a control freak since her first day a few weeks ago. She talks a lot about how she worked at a different location years before, and left her job at another beauty store to take on this role.

Let me be clear: Rachel is a beauty lead advisor, NOT our Beauty Team Leader (ours is on a long vacation at the moment) but for some reason she makes comments such as ā€œthere’s gonna be some changes around hereā€ and tells us BA’s that we need her permission to do things like replenishment in the stockrooms (SB1 & SB2), mainly because she’s ā€œunaware of our experience and knowledgeā€ even though some of us have worked here for years. She genuinely said that it doesn’t matter if she’s on her lunch and there’s a high number of replenishment in the stockrooms, we need to WAIT for her to come back from lunch to ASK her if it’s okay that we complete that task. It’s never been this way before.
I was recently given permission from Kohl’s leads to start closing registers because I work closing shifts so much, but the next day Rachel told me that I’m not allowed to if she’s here, and that it’s her job. I’m gonna be so honest with you when I say I watched her try to count one drawer for over 20 minutes.
Rachel claims that she’s just following the rules from the Kohl’s store manager, but the store manager has been around for like a decade and not a single beauty lead has ever treated us like this and acted so entitled and controlling. She constantly questions everyone’s abilities, even if we’ve proven ourselves to her 10 times over.
Other Leads focus more on LEADING us as a team, not telling us what to do, and Rachel’s attitude is so unexpected and unnecessary.

Another lead that I’ve talked to about Rachel’s behavior keeps telling me to stop trying to speak up towards her and instead just say ā€œokayā€ and listen to her, but i genuinely don’t feel comfortable just bowing down to her every request, letting her walk all over me and treat me with complete disrespect. I’ve already reported Rachel’s behavior to the store manager, but nothing seems to change her attitude.

Is this behavior normal in other Sephora @ Kohl’s locations? And what CAN I do about it?
