Discussion Guzman and Nadia were the definition of “they shouldn’t work, but they did”

Post image
4 Upvotes

When Elite started, I never expected these two to become one of my favorite parts of the show.

Guzman was arrogant, privileged and honestly kind of awful to Nadia at first. Nadia was smart, guarded and had every reason not to trust anyone at Las Encinas, especially him. On paper, they were a disaster waiting to happen.

But that’s exactly why their relationship worked. Watching Guzmán slowly drop the rich-boy act and actually learn to respect her, and watching Nadia let herself want something just for her, without carrying everyone’s expectations on her shoulders, made their story feel earned. Their chemistry was undeniable, and moments like this one felt like everything they’d been fighting finally catching up with them.

They had their problems, but for me they were one of the most interesting couples the show ever had.

Were you rooting for Guzman and Nadia from the start, or did they win you over later?

Discussion Rewatch

Rewatching for the millionth time, the more I rewatch the more annoying Samuel appears. I get his heart’s in the right place, but his self-righteousness is redundant and irritating to an extent.

Discussion Got to feel sorry for the Elite parents!

Spare a thought for the parents of those brats lol!

  • Father of Patrick/Ari/Mencia - his two eldest children sleep with everyone... then he finds out that his "good" daughter has become a hooker.
  • Mother of Rebeka - finds out that her daughter is dating a hooker.
  • Mother of Phillipe - "A school full of girls from good families, all waiting for my son to deign to look at them, and he falls for the janitor?"
  • Mother of Ivan - gets stoned and kisses her son (okay, that one is entirely her own fault!).

Proof that money cannot buy class.

Of course, Benjamin, Sandra & Carmen were hardly saints themselves! And Isadora's parents were worse behaved than her!

What did you all think of the parents on the show?

P.S. Shame we never got to see Nano & Marina as parents...

Discussion Rewatching Elite…

But this time in Spanish. It is so much better than the English version. My Spanish isn’t great, but it’s good enough to follow along with English subtitles. Hearing the actors in the actual voices is worth it.

Discussion Does Elite make you sympathize with characters you probably wouldn’t like in real life?

One thing I find interesting about Elite is how easily the show can make you understand a character’s choices without necessarily agreeing with them.

Sometimes you know someone is being selfish or treating other people badly, but then you get a glimpse of their insecurities, family problems, or the pressure they’re under, and suddenly they’re more complicated than you first thought.

I think that’s part of what makes the characters fun to discuss. You can understand why someone acts a certain way and still think they’re completely wrong.

Which character did you find yourself defending even when you knew they weren’t exactly in the right? And was there a character you liked at first but gradually started seeing differently?

Question Carla in season 3

Idk if its just me but from what I remember apparently when rebeka dealt carla drugs in the sixth episode and she passed out and fell in the pool... how come she returned to school the next day? Like ik polo rescued her pretty quick but that still seemed like a pretty serious thing

Discussion Reunion

I would love if the OG S1-S3 cast could/would do a reunion at some point. They can rewrite that god awful tragedy they did to Nadia and Guzman, give us a proper update about everyone. We could maybe see them being tortured by someone who knows their secrets from their Las Encinas days.

The later seasons are horrible to me but it was worth it just to see her face. She has such a captivating beauty and I mean her X-factor is part of it. She had it even in Soy Luna, in which she was just magnetic (actually watching her Catch me If you Can performance in season 3 which is one of the pics showed here. Just magnificent). Her and Carla (Ester Exposito) are some of the most beautiful women out there

Discussion Elite characters who are underrated & overrated

I think that Elite fans are fairly accurate with how we rate the characters (eg. Carla is rightly seen as awesome, Omar is rightly seen as boring, etc). But there are some characters who I think are misjudged:

UNDERRATED:

  1. Christian
  2. Carmen
  3. Valerio
  4. Ari
  5. Sara
  6. Emilia
  7. Sonia

OVERRATED:

  1. Isadora
  2. Ander
  3. Rebeka

Don't get me wrong. I don't dislike the characters who I have said are overrated. Isadora and Rebeka are both good characters - but not as good as fans seem to rate them. Ander was rather dull, in my opinion.

Who do you think was underrated and overrated?

Discussion What are your thoughts on Itzan Escamilla, Miguel Bernardeau and Álvaro Rico’s self-criticism about their acting?

Post image
121 Upvotes

Do you also think being hard on yourself is inherently part of being an actor, a result of being in a hyper-competitive industry, public reception and/or something else? What are your thoughts on what they’ve said in relation to their time during Elite and their post-Elite careers?

Itzan (Samuel): “I don’t know if it’s the roles I’ve gotten or it’s because of who I am, but I always view myself with self-criticism. It’s like I never see myself in a positive light; I’m always very hard on myself.” (Le Mile Magazine, 2024)

- In a May 2026 ACERO interview, Itzan said he finds it extremely difficult to watch himself probably because he judges himself too much, he constantly questions himself, and he can’t name a single performance he’s genuinely satisfied with. He also said that in Elite, he became “mechanical” and had “forgotten the true magic of the body” as a result of spending a long time as Samuel.

Miguel (Guzmán): “I’ve spoken very badly to myself, many times. I still speak badly to myself, I demand too much of myself, I’m very hard on myself. Relax, take it easy, take it one step at a time.” (Esquire, 2024)

Álvaro (Polo): “I think it's good to see yourself, as long as you don't judge yourself, since it helps a lot and that's what you learn from. The problem is that it's very difficult not to judge yourself… I always end up thinking that if they had given me another shot I would have done it differently or things like that.” (Metal Magazine, 2021)

Discussion If Marina Had Lived...

Out of all the characters who left too soon, no departure was more painful than that of Marina. She had so much more to offer the show. A HIV+ character who slept with two brothers, got pregnant, and made a number of enemies - that is great TV right there lol!

What would Elite have been like had Marina survived getting her head bashed by Polo?

Let's suppose she and Nano changed their minds about leaving, and decided to stick around and face the music. And let's suppose Marina gave birth to a healthy baby. What happens next? I cannot imagine anything but trouble! Marina would have had two brothers fighting over her. Carla would not have forgotten her grudge. Polo would have been desperate to prevent Marina from going to the cops. Had Guzman found out what Polo did, they would still have had their violent falling out, but things would have played out differently.

And if things did not work out between Marina and both Nano & Samuel, who might she have ended up dating next? Given the madness of the show, I would not have ruled out Marina & Polo becoming an against-the-odds couple!

What do you think would have happened had Marina lived and stayed in the show long-term?

Discussion How did Carla get so much love?

Considering all the things shes done, I can't believe she is so liked. It just makes no sense to me, AT ALL. Shes like the biggest villain in the first 3 series.

Discussion My most disliked characters in the show Spoiler

Ok, no 1 is ARI. Oh god, this woman annoyed me so much. All she has done was get drunk and sleep with all the guys. She was such a sl*t. She had NO self reflection and when she told Sam and Guzman she wants them both I nearly punched my screen. HORRIBLE WOMAN.

I am in the minority here, but I really didn't like Rebe and Isa. Not as much as ARI, but I still didn't like them. Rebe was living off drugs and couldn't control herself and punched lot of people. She was so horrible to me, if she was a guy, she'd be so hated.

And ISA? I don't like her because she said Joel got what she deserves. What a nasty thing to say, especially after what happened to her. All she did was take drugs from start to end, then she tried to show it down peoples throats. So irresponsible, she took 3 guys with her she didn't know to another bloody island and did drugs and alocohol with them, like wtf? I just can't. Just not realistic.
