General Discussion I’m so done with Kat

So we’ve got the whole Oscar / Lauren assassin thing for Christmas, but anyone else hoping for another mystery murder? Maybe for new years?

At this point I wouldn’t mind if we had a bit of ‘who smothered Kat in her sleep’ at all.

Fun & games I’m doing a community tier list of every year of EastEnders, starting with the 1980s. In which tier would you put 1985?

General Discussion What did you dislike from Clenshaw's era but actually miss now?

I feel Eastenders is generally dire atm. Not Magic Marv or NuMichelle levels but still terrible, and I've watched since '93.

At the time I didn't always like what Clenshaw scripted in, but in hindsight even the mediocre was actually quite good compared to the recent dross. Such as:

- The six interacting with each other, as daft as the plot was, it was great to see different characters together
- Nish as a villain. At the time I was annoyed how he had so many fake redemptive arcss, but now I miss him.
- Unexpected random cameos, Mickey Miller/Garry/Minty
- A long break from the vic after the explosion
- Teddy Mitchell. (Was a more interesting partner to Nicola than George Knight)

I know Amys being manipulated and she’s Unaware but i feel like she couldve done something here and stopped Craig. Instead she just let’s it happen does she not realize he’s literally sharing Child porn and if she doesn’t say anything Thursday episode I’m going to be annoyed. Also the audacity of Craig to say Denzel is peverted when he knows what he’s doing to Amy is Sickening. Craig is Very done for when this all comes out he’s either going to get murdered or Jailed for a longgg timee.

Best mother/father-in-law and son/daughter-in-law duo

Bit random but who is everyone’s favourite parent and child-in-law duo? Me personally I love Ian and Lauren’s bond (although it’ll definitely be ruined when the Mark situation is exposed)

Fun & games What are the most outrageous retcons that would actually make you squeal with glee?

• Upvotes

It can be anything. Nothing's off limits, don't take it too seriously.

Pat wakes up in her hospital bed, Sid Owen is brought in for a cameo and it turns out that her terminal diagnosis was all a nightmare and she's then back on the Square like nothing happened.

Ronnie and Roxy were abducted with an international criminal cartel, like SPECTRE and they've been forced into world-ending activity, which they finally escape from and return to Walford.

Pete Beale faked his death to be with Rose and escape to gangster Alfie Chapman, but he returns and reunites with Kathy.

The "real" Steven Beale returns, with Aaron Sidwell's version having been his best friend, who stole his identity.

Zack has been firing blanks and Teddy is really Barney's son.

The DIY DNA test came from the same website as Sharon's and Amy turns out to be Sean's daughter, not Jack's.

Zoe never actually had children and baby snatched them for about five minutes, before leaving them at another hospital, so they have no family or a reason to stay.

Sharon never aborted Grant's baby and she's had children by both ex-husband brothers, with them being both siblings and cousins.

It turns out that Joey Branning wasn't Derek's biological son and he returns (with a recast) and sweeps Lauren off her feet...sorry Mark Jr.

Theories and/or Opinions Tonight’s Episode Spoiler

wow I haven’t laughed at Eastenders like this in a long time. Kat has been fantastic tonight I have been in hysterics. The way she has just come for everybody, calling Phil ‘Mr mental health’, Jean ‘a jittery bag’ and Zack ‘your zacked’. And at the end ‘come on big man straighten me out’🤣🤣🤣Loving it, Glad to see a bit of old Kat is still in there.

He seems to have a lot on his mind.

Literally that is what Nicola told Ryder when he saw Josh in the square. OF COURSE he has a lot on his mind...his mum died!!!!!

Why are they digging into every arsehole to find a story for this family?

Why is Ned suddenly the control freak? Why isnt Nicola's mum the cruel matriarch she taunted to be?

How has Ned been this cruel all this time and nobody second guessed him? Is he the new Gray?

How it feels watching Wadey’s EastEnders

Post image
113 Upvotes

To recap:
- Zoe needs to find her son
- Finds him and then they don’t talk for months
- Zoe slips on a banana peel and dies
- The twins are still there
- Grey Atkins comes back to groom Ian
- Nancy Carter pregnant with Lee Carter’s baby
- Nicola’s family 😑

The first time I’ve stopped watching since 2021. Truly abysmal.

Question Ned Spoiler

Does anyone think that Ned plays a part in whatever is going on in the NYE episode? Or will he be long gone by then? I’m guessing the family will all still be there at Christmas…..

I’ve changed my opinion on Ned

I still think he’s a vile despicable person. He’s a homophobe and a manipulative man.

But I do think he has the potential to become a real conniving complex villain maybe even the next Michael moon and I hope he does become a good character

Theories and/or Opinions Flashforward NYD 2027 theories

Bride: Linda

Owner of the Vic: Ned

Woman in bed: Priya

Why Max was arrested for organising a murder: I feel this could be either setup that Max killed Priya. Organised by Ned as he stepped in to help Lauren from being blackmailed. I feel Max has picked up a lot of the dodgy dealings to protect his daughter. I’m not sure why Priya could be in danger though. Another point Max seems to get on well with Mark as he was waving to him from the window.

Gunman: Sean Slater. I think he’s going to return and find out Max was the last person who was with Zoe, Kat has been on the warpath since her death.

Potential other gunman: I once thought Ravi but it seems too obvious and I can’t see him completely losing it. Unless he believe that Max has organised to kill Priya which gives him ammo.

feel free to shut down these theories if need be. But should be a very exciting episode.

Harry and Mark

I don’t think they’ve had a single proper interaction? Considering they’re related and both were directly involved in the Ravi drug storyline for ages. I sense they are trying to forget about Nicola being a Mitchell and perhaps think Harry’s has more potential to be a nice guy rather than a Mitchell.

General Discussion Nicola and Ryder's bond...

The way Nicola is so comforting towards Ryder recently has made my heart melt and have tears in my eyes.

Yes she's done some bloody awful things, however seeing this supportive, loving, kind and gentle way with Ryder is something somebody can only wish for when they come out.

I understand that everyone may have their own opinions about this storyline and that's absolutely okay, I'm just happy that we get to see this side to her, it gives everyone a glimmer of hope that coming out isn't as bad as Ned is portraying it...

Looking at another person's phone Spoiler

Craig looking over Amy's phone is so wrong (even though she told him to).

I can't bear it when someone IRL picks up someone else's phone & starts looking through it. It's a big no-no with me. I know a nosy girl who does it & have learned not to leave my phone on the table around her or even enter my pin when she's looking. Your phone is your personal device with finances, health, work, private matters, apple wallet, messages, photos, dating apps and everything else. Anyone picking up & looking at another person's phone would be a red flag in my book.

Question Craig's motivation?

I was wondering what's the bottom line here with Craig and Amy? I know he's a predatory man but when he's done with her, he'd just move on to another victim. Why does he care if she does her A level studying/reviews. If he was marrying her or something, maybe. She's just a 17 year old kid. He's a predator with a bad past w/women. I don't see him settling down with her. I know he likes to control things (maybe he isn't thinking too far ahead). As for Amy, she's so immature. Ooh, do you want to see where my boyfriend lives? Seems a bit risky and stupid.
