Franchise Story Goodbye DC, Hello St. Paul
Just won my 5th Cup with the Caps just as my contract was expiring, the next day I packed my stuff and took the Wild job. The Wild have been a playoff team for the last few seasons, but had a lot of aging stars on bad contracts. I ended up keeping 5 players in the organization, and trading or releasing the rest. Should be fun.

Offline Franchise Want a more realistic experience? Try these sliders (NHL 27 Edition)
Hello everyone! I know it's been doom and gloom but listen, this can be a solid game, and I'm back to try to help us get the most enjoyable gameplay experience we can.
I've attached a video with both v1 of the Truesim sliders and a period of unedited gameplay.
I need to get more games in but I'm satisfied with this to start. Main focus is on getting the flow and feel right first, so please check out the video, try the sliders for yourself and let me know what you think!
See you on the ice!
Also, the truesim team is working on a roster as usual to accompany the sliders, and we made some exciting changes in approach this year. Stay tuned for more info on that!

Offline Franchise A cup with every team Part 1: Pittsburgh Penguins
What’s a rebuild anyway? Total Cinderella run but I’ll take it.

Offline Franchise Is it just me or does the CPU take an insane amount of penalties?
I swear every game I play in my franchise I feel like the opposing team takes at least 4 hooking penalties a game. I don’t understand why and it completely slows down the clock speed of the game. I feel like in previous games it was reversed but maybe I’m just bugging.

Franchise Story Nunavut Narwhals. Part 3
Christmas and New Year’s went by and left the team with a huge hangover.
Utah called me about Jake Bean and a 3rd in exchange for a 2nd and a 3rd. I denied the offer but just a couple of days later I saw that Bean had dropped to a 75 ovr…Big fumble by me.
Canucks gets a hold of me even though I’ve had blocked them and once again tries to get Kurashev packaged with Grundström for two 2nds. Enticing deal but just because it’s the ‘nucks I nixed the deal.
Calgary also wants Kurashev and at this point I really don’t want to deal him if he’s such a high demand. I might have a future 2nd center in place in Kurashev and that’s awesome.
Yzerman tries to dump Compher on me but I don’t like Steve’s attitude and tone so I hang up.
Montreal calls me and offers me two 2nd rounders for Bunting. This deal can please the owner for the goals he sat for me but Bunting has early begun to be personal favorite for me so I decline.
A couple of weeks before trade deadline my owner reminds me of the extra picks he wants to see for the upcoming draft and I don’t want to hear his nagging so I send a 3rd rounder (31) and a 2nd rounder (32) to Ottawa for two 2nd rounders this year (one off them originally belonged to Florida).
It’s trade deadline day, me and the staff almost chokes on our coffee when TSN confirms that Marchenko is on the block. I call up Columbus and asks what they need from us to make a deal but they almost feel sorry for us as we are far from having anything to make this deal happen.
I feel defeated and asks the flames about Morgan Frost but we can’t agree on the exchange.
From here on now I need to be more aggressive.
The deadline passes and we accomplish zero, nada.
Around the league it was really quiet. Yager and Skinner finds a way back to Pittsburgh. Sunny Mehta acquired Aitcheson and a 2nd from their rivals Islanders.
After 84 games we are dead last in the league with only 25 wins. Maybe not so surprising but still disappointing. Our AHL team ends up last in their division. We’ve a long way to go…
We passed an owner goal though regarding road wins.
One the plus side I feel good about how some of the forwards produced with Laine having 40+ goals and Bunting putting up 66 points.
On D it looks bleaker, sure Boqvist had 40 points but we have to build up that back end.
Cant really blame the goalies when we had such weak defense.
Around the league I can shoutout Kucherov with 79 goals and Markström with 11 shutouts.
I’ll try to put this first season behind me, try to focus on the positives (forwards and prospects) and have in mind to take some bigger swings and be more aggressive. Even if the deals and contracts are bad I need to fill this roster with players that can contribute more.
Next time we’ll see who won the cup, some awards and of course the entry draft! Hopefully my scouts have found some gems.
Tune in for part 4!

Offline Franchise Year 10 Results (Part 2)
We are officially a dynasty, winning 4 cups in 5 years. This was our best season to date, winning the presidents trophy and our starter winning two awards. Made one trade for a new 2C (could place him on the wing too). I might be playing a bit less from now on as I don't want to get too bored with doing the same thing over and over again.

Offline Franchise Why are players so easily nudged off the puck?
I have been playing the game, and I like to get immersive and watch the AI sometimes in playoff OTs, terrible idea, I know. But someone like McDavid for example will get tapped from behind by some bum and turn the puck over and it makes zero sense. Is there a slider that improves players balance so they are not affected by such little hits. It is very unrealistic to me.

Offline Franchise Why can’t I get a new coach?
The game automatically signed Babcock and obviously I don’t want him near me even in a videogame so I sacked him, now I only have a budget of 60 000$ even though the game is saying I got over 9 mil

Franchise Story Nunavut Narwhals. Part 2
After a turbulent afternoon as I let go off 12 scouts and recruited new ones via Reddit we’re off to pre season.
St. Louis wanted to get rid of B. Carlo for picks (lol) and the sharks wanted me to hand them Bunting and Vlasic for essentially nothing, they’re smoking crack if they think I wanted to give them (for me) a top 6 winger and our “dad” on D.
We went 2-0-2 in pre season, so that’s alright.
First game of the season we lost on the road to the ducks, Bunting (that the crack smoking sharks wanted) puts in the first goal for our organization. He’s now forever a Narwhal.
Second game we accomplished our first win against the Kraken, home, in our very empty barn. 5-2 is the score and Schmid gets the win!
Tampa is looking to bring back Drouin but I hang up and block Brisebois (for now).
The forever very funny Canucks are looking to have Kurashev for a 3rd, 5th and Dadonov. Our number 1 center for a winger and crap picks? Forever block on the ‘nucks.
A month in we finally get a grip on the potential and overall on our picks we did this summer in the entry draft. I might have been a bit drastic with the firing of our scouts… the first draft is always a throwaway outside the top 10 but we got away decent I think.
Elite winger, top 6 center, low top 6 winger, 2 bottom 6 wingers, backup goalie. The defense men will probably never play for us though.
Dubas sends me a late night text about wanting Grubauer. He must be drunk and I kind of like Dubas so I pretend not have seen his text.
33 games in we’re last in our division but not completely dead in the water as we have 12 wins already.
Our top line has found chemistry together which is awesome. Grubauer is more than ok in the crease.
Christmas is upon us up here in Nunavut and Curtis Lazar will be the team’s Santa.
Next update on this shit show will be around trade deadline. Maybe acquire the draft picks my owner wants? Any new faces? Early peek at draft class? I don’t know. You don’t know. My owner doesn’t know. What I do know is that some bad decisions WILL be made.
Tune in for part 3!

Offline Franchise NHL 27 worth it?
I like playing nhl 26 franchise mode. Despite the hate for nhl games I’m fine with spending the low price of 30 dollars like 6 months after the game comes out.
I don’t really wanna wait for the price drop on nhl 27. Is it worth it? I know the only real thing I would get is the new rosters but that’s what I want tho. Are the collage players in the prospect pools still not in the game ? Price ain’t really a problem for me I got 70 to spend on the game.

Offline Franchise NHL Games
I'm sure many of you are like me when I say I'm very dissatisfied with EA NHL games.
They're sort of like that comfort food I keep going back to because there's nothing else to even compare it.
What kind of gameplay features/additions do you think would convince you to genuinely purchase a brand new hockey game from EA or anybody else?

Offline Franchise Please help. I’m going to lose it.
Any advice for this team? Year 5 and I’ve made the playoffs a total of one time. Thought I had too many mouths to feed so I traded some higher overall players for futures, even fired Bednar and picked up Carbery (A+) this season. I’m frustrated and lost and looking for advice.

Franchise Story Expansion team: Nunavut Narwhals
We fell one spot in the draft, 3 to 4, and begun with expansion draft.
Bettman fucked us over and ordered us to pick alphabetical by teams and take a player for each position in the same order the whole way through, and not just that. I had to pick the lowest rated overall in that position.
After that shit sandwich I headed over to the entry draft.
We could’ve gone with a right handed d-man from California but my scouts said he’s an asshole so at pick #4 overall in the draft we went with Corbin Turco from Minnesota. LW grinder, a guy that will do whatever to win a game. Perfect selection that will set the standard for our organization. My scouts guarantees he has elite potential.
Our second pick at #36 our scouts almost got into a fight over who to pick. One group wanted a RD from Sweden but the loudest group got their man from Boston, Jadon Taylor, center. “He could be decent” they said.
The third pick, #69, was upon us. Fists almost hanging in the air as one group desperately wanted to draft, again, a RD from Sweden, but GM PopularNorth had his eyes set on the name Doug McMuffin from Minnesota. Teammate with Turco but also a LW. Sniper with a bad temper.
At the fourth round and pick #102, the second group finally got their RD, Jonathan Brown from Windsor Spitfires. Stay at home guy who eat pucks.
Fifth round comes around and I have left the table at this point and let the scouts do their picks. #135 they select Logan Sawatzki from Brooklyn. He’s a goalie basically.
Sixth round comes around and the scouts just settle for a sniper who plays RW, from Linköping HC, Fredrik Nyquist. At the best he can be an AHLer.
Seventh round, #201, with just one scout left at the table, as the others has left for the bar, he selects Brady Manning from Seattle. An arrogant asshole on LW.
July 1.
My team is basically an ECHL team. I need to get some players in the lineup.
I send a bunch of offers to players and offered them all a two year contract with a 3 million aav, except for Laine who wanted a 3 year contract with some protection.
All accepted except two guys. Tarasenko signed with in the same division as he denied us and went with Boston. Glendening went with Montreal where he’ll likely play for Laval…so that tells us how much he likes Nunavut. Those two guys better watch their backs this upcoming season.
Just as I had signed my guys I noticed I was far away from reaching the cap floor and all the other gm’s had gone for vacation as the group chat was completely silent. I also wanted some vacation and signed the legend Reto Berra as a cap whale at 20.8 million dollars.
This pissed off Bettman to that degree that for now on Nunavut are only allowed to do max three trades per season and can’t sign any FA’s until 8th of July.
Training camp arrives and I get to meet the coaching staff and my owner.
Head coach for the Narwhals is:
Gene Purcell. Generalist who likes a balanced team. The experts give him A-.
My owner gave me some goals for the season:
He wants at least 4 picks in the first two rounds this upcoming draft.
14 home wins.
12 road wins.
Upgrade club seats.
He’ll definitely be disappointed…
Captain for Narwhals was an easy choice:
Patrik Laine.
His assistants are Kurashev and Drouin.
In training camp the line up is settled for the pre season games. We’ll see if that’s the line combinations for game 1.
Coaching staff I’ll give one season before I make up my mind on them. But I’ll definitely fire a bunch of the scouting staff.
Tune in for the next episode. Whenever that will be.
Rules and some settings in the comments.

Offline Franchise AI too easy to play against
I started a expansion team franchise and I’m still on my first season and have been playing every game. I really don’t think my roster reflects our record, 52-13-5 is kinda ridiculous. Is there any way that I can improve the AI so it’s harder to play against, I’m already on superstar mode. I also know that I’m gonna breeze through the playoffs and win an easy cup at my current state and I don’t really want that, I prefer realism. (Side note: I have Ridley Greig as my 2C but he’s injured so he’s not in the lineup rn, that’s kinda making it look a lot worse)
