Saw this, and thought someone here would enjoy it.

So incredibly annoying that they’ve released Twelve Months in a different sized paperback than the preceding 17 books. I know the “Mass Market” concept has kind of gone away from publishing but it’s not as if the Dresden files paperbacks were traditional tiny mass market editions.

I’m hopeful that it will be released in the regular size some time next year so that my shelf doesn’t look stupid.

Hiding the rope coming out the top is gonna be a trick, but uhh...it's a start!
We've got loose books and bookshelves to work with already, so this rounds out some Dresden-y decoration options.

In cold days during Harry's meeting with Lily she makes her bodyguards show themselves. Harry comments that they were all carrying bows. This is funny to me because one of the bodyguards was a giant snake.

This is from the new Narnia trailer (I am not happy with what they did to Charn and her Charn look in the trailer. Absolutely awful if you know the books) but at least she looks amazing for her Narnia look and they definitely decided to copy the Tilda Swinton look a lot, which is my favorite.

Since we will likely never get a faithful Dresden Files TV show (especially not one including Mab and the Winter Court), Jadis from Narnia is the closest I can get to seeing Queen Mab. That and the Queen Mab from Merlin (1998) also helps me.

...and, as our favorite urban wizard might utter, hells bells, what a ride! This one took longer than the last two combined, so much is happening in this book. Can´t wait to start Twelve Months and in the meantime, I bought the 'Welcome to the jungle' graphic novels. So, I'll be holed up in my reading chair for the foreseeable future 👍

I had my doubts about the dramatized version of the Dresden Files, but after listening to an hour of the Storm Front, I am happily enjoying it. Sad, I have to now double dip on audio books.

Of you don't know elseworld is a label put on dc comic what if stories, like what if Superman landed in ussr.

Which what if would you like to see jim make 1 book about. It could something like what if harry used the dark hallow or what if harry become the summer knight instead.

Yes this idea is partly based on mirror mirror.

I would like to see xwhat id Harry took up Lashiel's coin rthat then the Winter knight mantle". That gives us a alt version of the end of changes, ghost story and skin game. Harry would be a ghost when the fomor show up and he would know about the job on hades vault sooner. Plus mab would be pissed.

My physical therapist just started the series and I am into 3D printing, so I made him this coaster.

What DND alignments do you think each main character is? Please explain your opinion.

Im playing the Witcher 3 remaster. And I could just see all the fun in playing as harry both in dialogue and in combat. And imagine the character side quests. Weather its Canon or not i personally wouldn't care but what do you guys think.

I think that's what Marcone Will end up as. What do you think?

likest thou jelly within thy donut?

i don't think i have to say much more.
im dead.

IDK why this was my first thought I've never read Invincible, but I find it funny, also Summer knight was basically a perfect 5 stars for me.

Because I don't think he's making it through the series. He's the Obi Wan, he's the Dumbledore, he's the mentor who has to die to move out of the narrative for the main character.

So, how do you think it happens? Offscreen? Heroic sacrifice? Harry has to do it? Killed by an enemy to prove a point?

Inspired by recent thread suggesting CDPR as a studio.

My concept would be something like an immersive sim/RPG, VtM: Bloodlines. I would be tempted to ask for something Cyberpunk scaled, but that might be a bit much. I’ve come to appreciate smaller denser games as I’ve gotten older. I like the idea of a young practitioner becoming a new warden during the war with the red court. Harry can be a mentor, maybe more of a cameo, but I think it would be more fun to explore Dresden’s world as a new character.

Not often a writer of posts so please be nice.

I haven't seen much conversation or theories around this subject here so thought I'd give it a go.

After that scene in 12 months we all know that the pecking order has been reestablished. (Vis a vis Harry, Mab, DemonReach, and Mother Winter).

Especially with that iconic line of "did you really think you could draw a larger gun than me?"

But there is something crucial that was done here.

Harry gave Mab an excuse to summon Mother Winter. More importantly he made Mab plan to summon MW! (After all, only Harry is ever foolish/desperate enough to summon her. Someone like Mab would have discussed/planned this with her, including getting permission to call her Mother out of the NeverNever).

That is a HUGE Chekovs Gun. Faeries, especially those that operate on Mabs level and above, never do just one thing. And we know that Mother Winter has her own priorities (and a decidedly "stone age/end-of-civilization set of morals around fulfilling said priorities).

Mother Winter has repeatedly wanted to use more 'extreme' methods/weapons while preparing for.....the BAT.

AND HARRY AND MAB JUST GAVE HER AN EXCUSE TO BREAK THROUGH THE DEFENCES OF DEMONREACH AND HAVE ALL EYES (INCLUDING ALFRED'S) ON ONLY HER.

AND they gave her prep time/planning time.

I would say there is almost no chance she didn't sneak something out/into DemonReach. Maybe a weapon, maybe a potential ally/tool, maybe something 'moderately' dangerous she wants to "train" Harry on by making him hunt it down.

I think there's no way that Mother Winter gets an excuse to "go walking" (as painful as it is) and the HIGH QUEEN OF THE FAERIES would just "do as she's told?" (See Lily's line to Harry as far back as Proven Guilty).

Also, the pure angst Jim could make Harry feel, if something gets broken out and kills people. Imagine Harry's guilt.....

Anyways, I'd love to hear any ideas and theories. What do we think? What did Mother Winter take, release, or hide inside of DemonReach while they were staring at her all terrified.

(See also: what she "mischievously" tried to release during Cold Days, let's hope this isn't as traumatic/dangerous)

In cold days Harry says that mab tried to kill him 77 different ways while he was going through physical therapy. What are your ideas for what she tried?

For some reason, I really want to see Harry go up against a troupe of Oompa-Loompas.
