I feel like a lot of people joke about Death Grips a lot. Although they have some funny videos and stuff. Their music is very meaningful. I’m not the only one to say this but these guys have made some songs that really touch me man…
For instance, Beware “To pray is to accept defeat” I mean it’s such a simple anti-religious concept yet it’s so meaningful. Lord of the Game when MC Ride and the girl says “Fuck where you from, fuck where you going, it’s about where ya at” I mean like they say it so harshly but it’s real shit. Also, The song Giving Bad People Good Ideas. I mean it’s such a simple title but the way they deliver the song makes it so interesting in so many ways. On GP also has some of the most beautiful and interesting lyrics to a song I’ve probably ever heard. The way he opens up to himself through these guitar riffs and insane drumming from Zach. I mean it’s so fucking cool man.
Andy Morin and Zach instrumentals are great as well and how they blend different sounds and styles together to make some complex beat for MC Ride to rap in. It’s cool as hell. Death Grips can be hard to understand but like I feel like everyone should try to take Death Grips seriously because artistically, lyrically, and visually they are one of the most prominent artists in the 2010s.
I’m in a rush but I’ll love to talk more anyways, cya later! Stay noided!;)

Yes i like notm more than jenny death. Just feels like one big extremely enjoyable song. Jenny death is also a ten dont get me wronf i mean it has On Gp for gods sake. But idk how to explain it Notm is just really enjoyable and interesting for some reason.

To me i'd say i hold these songs very close to me: Up My Sleeves, Black Body (steroids), Fyrd Up, Anne Bonny, Big Dipper, On GP. However i somehow don't feel so connected to it.
Some for the frustration they convey and the delivery, i really wish we had more like Fyrd Up in that same style i mean, melodically it feels very dark and lyrically to me it's up there with On GP but i wouldn't say it's the exact same just....similar. Either way, to me Up My Sleeves is what takes me somewhere else entirely and Black Body completes that feeling.
What about you?

Out of all the albums in death grips discography no love deep web has always been kinda the outlier for me weirdly it just didn’t click for me
Even government plates a album that I would consider their worst project I felt I in some form I got, i understand why people would like it or dislike but for no love deep web a lot of the songs never clicked for me
It has great tracks like aditw, no love, deep web, black dice, world of dogs, come up and get me, and lock your doors but alot of the other tracks namely whammy, lil boy, Stockton, and hunger games just sound very uninteresting to me
It might just be the album in general has very stripped back production compared to the rest of their albums
But i wanna know if nldw is one of your favorite albums by them why? What am I missing about it it’s probably the album by them I go back to the least

I wanted to share this dream I had last night. I dream DG suddenly announced a tour out of nowhere, with zero time to process it. Next thing I knew, I was at the show (a pretty massive one), standing in the crowd looking at the stage inside an indoor stadium.
Then they came out, but before playing anything, they started playing basketball with LeBron. Interestingly enough, all three of them were there, including Andy. Seeing Andy still hanging around with them threw me off pretty badly, and I was even more surprised to see them shooting hoops with Lebron, especially seeing Ride laughing his ass off.
When they finally got around to performing, they played some new songs (pretty mainstream for DG, honestly). They were generic boom bap beats with Ride vocals, and there was this giant screen projecting a polar bear made in blender, kinda like Government Plates but with a bigger budget.
Can someone who knows how to interpret dreams tell me if this is a divine sign that the album is dropping soon? Although, I did quit weed recently, so I guess crazy ass dreams are to be expected lol.
Sorry for the wall of text btw.

This may be a dumb post but holy shit I just listened to only the essential Apple Music playlist of death grips.. why did I wait so long being from sac I think my ignorant hate for the town as a kid made me push away from anything sacramento. Wtf this is the best thing that’s happened besides maybe the beam. I love discovering it late but also wished I got to experience the new music even as a kid because wow chefs kiss.
Favorite tracks :
Billy not really
The fever
Full moon
Giving bad people good ideas

It’s 2027, DG are at the tiny desk, Zach sits topless over 3 drums, Andy stands shades on at his synthesiser, Ride grabs the mic and lets out a visceral “AWOH”
what 3 songs do you want to hear?

I was watching Season 3, Episode 22 of The X-Files, titled “Quagmire,” when I heard a very familiar sound during a just few minutes into the episode.

Okay so basically, I had a dream where I went to my first death grips concert and it wasn’t what i expected Ride and Zach had an unusual set list featuring blackjack, this is violence now, and deep web??? Ride didn’t seem like his energetic self and wasn’t yelling as much he just sort of spoke the lyrics? Right after the concert Ride pulled me and my friend aside and we sat down on a couch outside the concert hall, and I asked him for a selfie he actually nodded and smiled for the picture. He and Zach then took me and my friend to a studio like the one in the insta post, and Zach said “see you on the floor in a month”, after we said goodbye and went to a funeral for a hispanic family lost in a triple homicide. That’s all I can remember but I haven’t even been listening to Death Grips lately to trigger this, did I get a vision about the album?
