So I'm currently learning ZBLL and after that full ZB and I barely have subset T case 6 (I got the subset from SCDB) and I'm still struggling to recognize the cases! I memorized all the algs but now I have to memorize practically every single piece on the 2 sides I'm looking at. Yes I know about the technique people use but sometimes it confuses other cases so I decided to learn my way. Anyway comment how you learned so many algs quickly if you have learned something like that or similar. And maybe some advice for me? š„ŗ

I just got back into cubing after 6 years. I forgot the exact name of my Gan cube but it's one of the 356 magnetic ones, and as the title says, it's faded and very sticky on the outside. I'm not sure if this is a problem with just the frosted coating, but I was hoping someone had a fix for this in anyway. I'm planning to buy a new cube but it would be nice to restore this one as well.
Product description shown is for the GAN 17 MagDrive. Lately in SpeedCubeShop's product descriptions I've been noticing these very AI-esque bullet lists, which led me to be suspicious that they're using AI. Though it's not certain, GPTZero and other AI detectors are flagging a lot of their product descriptions as AI generated. I'm honestly surprised nobody's talked about this, especially given that their cube finder tool is the most obvious AI slop in the world.

So my progression has been getting slower after reaching sub-20, what should I improve on?

I got into cubing around 2019, I was obsessed for YEARS. It was genuinely all I did. I would sit on my couch for hours and hours every day spamming solves (I didnāt even listen to music or anything I was a psychopath).
it got to where I averaged 11-12ish seconds and my PB was 6.85 seconds, but then I slowly lost interest.
part of it was probably because my favorite YouTubers quit, most notably jperm. Anyways, cubing Just slowly fizzled out of my life for the next few years.
But recently, when I saw the new WR, I picked it up, blew off the dust like the drama queen I am, and tried a few solves. I was slow. I was averaging 15-20 seconds. And I forgot almost every OLL, and some PLLs which was infuriating, because i remember how long they took to memorize. But one weird thing kept happening, I would try a solve, finish f2l, and come across an OLL I did NOT remember at all, like genuinely if you showed me that case Iy mind would be a blank, but before I could register the fact that I didnāt remember the algorithm, it would already be solved. My fingers would just muscle memory and do the entire algorithm without me knowing what the heck Iām doing. It genuinely started to freak me out because I legit did not remember these.
But within day I relearned almost all the algs, and have been practicing when I can. My averages have been getting lower, around 13-14 seconds. Not as fast as I was, but Iām getting close.
then I got my first sub 10. I got a 9.17, the joy I felt was much bigger than I thought itād be. it wasnāt even super lucky, it was full step, I just did it smoothly, and it was lowkey surreal.
I hope I continue to improve and reach what I once was at my prime.

I dug this up after couple years. I wanna say I got it from cube4you when they were still around but might have been a cubicle purchase. I was surprised to find it actually has edge and corner magnets so canāt be that old?

This website was very nostalgic to me because just one of the first Rubiks cube websites when I was learning and I even solve my first Rubiks cube on the website in October 2020. Thereās two puzzles that you can use in the app like 2x2, 5x5, Square 1 and pyraminx and also redi cube pyaminx crystal and mirror cube and many more!

how different does it feel? does it still have the issues with v10 and v11 where it snaps? i don't really see much complain lately abt the core, does that really fix the issue?

I know this is a very very long shot, but I recently moved and somehow two of the corner pieces of my examinx fell off. I know I should have wrapped it better, but 2 of the 3 pieces of one of the corners somehow disappeared. I have 3d printer and I can try to make the other two, but I don't have a scanner and it might take me an eon to make it them on my own. Does anyone have or know of 3D files for this? Thanks for any help

Sorry if the title is weird. I couldn't manage to find a way to phrase it succinctly and still make it make sense.
The problem
What I want to try to do is UV coat just once face of a cube. The rest of the cube already has the factory UV coating. My concern here is getting my DIY coating to match the factory coating as closely as possible in terms of feel/texture, thickness, look, etc... I don't want there to be a noticeable difference between my coating and the factory's.
Aside from trying to match the quality of the factory coating, one potential issue here is that the face pieces I want to UV coat already have a glossy finish, which I can see causing issues or otherwise making it impossible to get satisfactory results.
So, I'm turning any of you who have done DIY UV coatings for any sort of advice on how to go about trying to match the factory coating.
Why just one face? What the hell did you do?
I didn't screw anything up... this time.
I ordered a MoreTry TianMa X3+ SAOCube SE Year of the Horse Edition on AliExpress. It arrived in the mail yesterday, but it has the normal yellow face instead of the black face that the year of the horse edition is supposed to come with. It's otherwise the correct cube (horse on center cap, 8 magnet ball-core, 2 magnet maglev instead of the MoreTry stack of magnets, correct clear magnet capsules) and I'm going to keep it, it just doesn't have the black face.
The possibly good news is that I have 3 sets of black face pieces from 3 other TianMa's, one of which was broken months ago, so I can afford to ruin one set of the pieces and still swap colors on the other 2 when I get bored and forget whether or not I actually like the black.
The potentially bad news is that they all have a glossy finish. The glossy finish isn't as thick as the UV coating, but that still means that whatever DIY UV coating I apply needs to be just slightly thinner than the factory UV coating. I don't know if the glossy finish will cause my UV coating to not adhere as well to the pieces and be less durable. Finally, I don't know whether or not having the glossy under the UV will necessarily cause it to look different than the factory UV coating, though I think being on top of black plastic will help me out here by making it harder to actually see any differences.
If a DIY UV coating fails, I guess I can reach out to The Cubicle or SpeedCubeShop to see if they have any UV coated black pieces they can send me. The smart thing to do would probably be to reach out to them first before trying to do it myself, but I have pieces I can afford to lose and I'm interested in seeing what I can do.
